Fantastic vehicle with unbelievable torque, speed, acceleration and style. Great exterior and interior color combination. Best Touareg ever made, last year with that engine. If you Google the vehicle, you will see that it has a lot of history to it and it holds the Guiness World record in hauling etc..
It has ALL the options available from factory. It is the best AWD I have ever owned. I picked it up in October last year from the previous( and first owner ), as I needed a vehicle to drive through the winter in Indiana, and I always had exactly this vehicle on my list to own. Before me and after I bought it, it has been pampered and always stored inside in a heated garage. All service and maintenance has been performed on it at authorized VW dealership. Prior to when I bought it, it had two new turbos installed at VW plus some additional parts, as the engine was out. Invoices and documentation available on all of it. This car is set to last forever, many hundred thousands of miles and is a fantastic drive. It has never hauled anything. Since I bought it I have put a little less than 5.000 miles on it, and I have now moved to a place, where I will probably never use AWD again, plus that I now have limited space in my garage. So this car has to go. In the sales process I will still use it for smaller trips back and forth to the airport, so I might add some miles to it. I have set the reserve very low, taking year, condition and miles into consideration. Car can only be picked up locally. As to trades I might be interested in smaller car with low mileage, like a Porsche Boxter, Mecerdes SLK, Mercedes SL or some other cool, low-mileage car. Unique car in great condition. |

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
Production Volkswagen Taigun crossover caught in patent filing?
Wed, 01 May 2013Volkswagen brought an angular, bulldog-like small crossover concept called Taigun to the São Paulo motor show last year, claiming that it wanted to gauge interest in the design before making a decision about production. If a new report with alleged leaked patent images is to be believed, then, interest must have been pretty high.
China's Auto.Sohu.com has published this group of Taigun images, claiming that they have been sourced from the Chinese patent office and that the subcompact VW utility based on the Up! has been cleared for production.
If all of that is true, and if these images are representative of the final product, you'll see that designers haven't done much to alter the concept car's appearance. Comparing, shot for shot, with the images we have from Brazil, we see that even small details like roof rack-mounted lights and exhaust tips integrated in the rear fascia have been carried over. Jalopnik and Consumer Reports see who can pull off the best snow drift
Fri, Feb 20 2015The weather throughout much of the United States is pretty awful at the moment with some combination of extremely low temperatures, inches of snow and maybe some ice underneath it all. The folks at Jalopnik and Consumer Reports are making the absolute best out of a difficult situation by heading to CR's snow-covered test track and attempting to make the longest drift in a quartet of very different performance vehicles. Jalopnik brought along a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon, a Subaru WRX STI, a BMW 228i and a 1973 Volkswagen Baja Bug (heck yeah!) for the challenge. Also, the track was perfect for this group, with a mix of packed snow in places and still a few inches of unsullied powder in spots too. Ostensibly the goal was to get the tail to step out through a particular corner, but in reality this was more about having hilarious fun in the snow with fast cars. The result just looks like the best time humanly possible in this weather.
