Thanks for looking. I'm selling my '09 Touareg to upgrade to a newer '14 or '15 model. Purchased this vehicle as a Certified PreOwned (CPO) from Crowley Volkswagen in Plainville, Connecticut. This car was driven very lightly since day one and only has 37,700 miles with all dealer services. New Continentals were put on the car a year ago so the tread life is good for a few years. The car is in great shape except for a slight drag mark on the front bumper. There are no stories with the car and it is very clean. The CPO is good till March of 2015 which is a fantastic adder to the buyer for a vehicle made in 2009. No accidents or repairs.

My feedback rating is flawless and speaks for itself. Email me or call me at 860-921-3740 if you have any questions. $500 due at the end of the auction. Balance due in 7 days from purchase via wire transfer to my bank.

Shipping from my location is not included in the sale. Title is clear and available upon bank clearance sent direct to buyer.

Good luck to everyone. Buy with confidence. Check my feedback.

The Limited Warranty that comes with the Certified PreOwned Volkswagen is a real warranty, not a maintenance contract. This means that protection covers the vehicle, and you won't be charged for any repair or service deemed necessary because of a broken or malfunctioning part covered by the warranty.  And there's no deductible.

The 2-year / 24,000 mile basic warranty begins when the new vehicle limited warranty expires or upon the sales date of the Certified PreOwned VW vehicle (whichever occurs later).  The 2-year Roadside Assistance program begins at the same time as the warranty.

What's covered:

  • Engine
  • Steering
  • Front and rear axles
  • Manual transmission
  • Electrical power supply
  • Heating and air conditioning
  • ABS brakes
  • Electrical systems
  • Torque converter
  • Differential
  • Material or manufacturing defects (but not normal wear-and-tear, or damage to the appearance of the vehicle, tires or exhaust system).

Includes the balance of the limited powertrain warranty, which is transferable along with any remaining limited warranty against perforation due to corrosion (balance of new vehicle warranty).  Repairs covered by the warranty can be done at any licensed VW dealer.

Naturally, the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, alterations made after the sale, accidental damages, or regular routine maintenance (like oil changes).

This Or That: 1987 VW Vanagon Syncro vs. 1987 Land Rover Defender [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

As I scoured auction sites and classified ads for the perfect vehicle to take into battle with Autoblog Associate Editor Brandon Turkus, I knew I needed to find something unique. You see, I'm currently 0-2 at winning a round of This or That, in which two of our editors agree on a category, choose a side, and argue it out over a (mostly) friendly chain of emails.
The first time we did this, my chosen Fiat 500 Abarth took about a third of the popular vote in our reader poll. The second time, my lovely 1980 Oldsmobile 442 did just a little bit better against a 1989 BMW 635 CSi. Despite holding the opinion that my automotive choices, though perhaps a little bit more... obscure than my fellow editors, are still better, an outright win would go a long way toward boosting my vehicular self worth a few notches upward.
With all of that out of the way, even if three isn't my lucky number after all, I go into battle against Brandon knowing full well that I've made the perfect choice: A 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro. My rough-and-tumble van/'ute has a formidable opponent in the form of a 1987 Land Rover Defender, which, truth be told, is exactly what I was expecting from Turkus, a self-proclaimed Rover aficionado.

Weekly Recap: Diesel scandal continues to fuel VW's woes

Sat, Oct 3 2015

Volkswagen's woes continued this week when it was delisted from the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and stripped of awards. Senators are also lining up to advocate for criminal and civil action against the automaker, and its consumer reputation is in tatters. Put simply, it's been another rough period for VW. Despite this, the company eked out a sales gain of less than one percent in September, though that was well behind the overall market's performance. Sister brand Audi, which sells a diesel A3, was less affected, posting a 16-percent gain in September. Revelations that Volkswagen rigged millions of diesel-powered cars around the world didn't surface until September 18, so the full sales impact of the ongoing scandal won't likely be felt until October. Meanwhile, VW's image continues to take a beating, and an AutoPacific survey found only one in 14 vehicle owners have a positive opinion of the company. Before the scandal broke, three-quarters of respondents had a positive view of VW. The survey also found 64 percent don't trust Volkswagen, though the same number believe other companies are or may also be using cheating devices to pass emissions tests. "The reputation of diesels has been severely damaged, at least for the short term," Ed Kim, AutoPacific's vice president of industry analysis, said in a statement. Despite the lingering malaise, experts believe VW will recover, just as Toyota and General Motors eventually emerged from their own high-profile controversies. "Consumers have proven through numerous recalls that they are resilient and quickly return to their buying habits," Kim said. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Mazda to reveal sports car concept in Tokyo Mazda will bring a curvy sports car concept to the Tokyo Motor Show in October. The automaker is being especially coy with the details, only releasing the dark teaser shot that you see to the right and a cryptic statement that suggests the concept "condense[s] Mazda's entire history of sports-car development into a single model." Immediately, speculation abounded this is an RX-7 and RX-8 successor, though Mazda didn't specify what engine the concept will have. Reportedly, the company is still working on rotary engines. Mazda will have a Cosmo Sport 110S on its stand in Tokyo, which pioneered rotary technology in 1967. Read into that what you will. GM outsold VW globaly in first quarter, Toyota reports numbers next week

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

General Motors released its first quarter sales figures this week, reporting that it sold 2.36 million cars and trucks worldwide. That figure represents an increase of 3.6 percent when compared to the same period last year. GM's growth was attributed to many factors, including global Cadillac sales that were up 26 percent and Chevrolet posting a one percent increase over last year (this marked Chevy's tenth straight year of record global sales).
Volkswagen came in just behind GM, as the German automaker reported global sales from January through March at 2.27 million vehicles, an increase of five percent when compared to last year. While that number was strong, VW is cautioning that markets outside China and the US, such as those in Europe, are becoming a challenge as economies falter.
Yet to report sales is Toyota, current holder of the global world sales crown (the Japanese company sold 9.75 million cars last year, against 9.29 million sold by GM and 9.1 million vehicles sold by VW). Even though GM and Toyota both say they don't care who sells the most units, it is unquestionably a strong bragging point and sales equate to revenue. That said, Toyota will report its first quarter numbers next week.
