Offered for sale is my wife's 2005 VW Touareg. I had no intention of selling it until I went to the dealer recently to get it serviced. I happened to sit inside the new 2014 Touareg...I found myself driving it home a few hours later...

This was my wife's vehicle and it only has 75K on it because she never used it for anything more than groceries or dropping off and picking up our 3 kids at school, camp, sports...etc. We also took a couple of road trips in it around Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. I bought it because although it isn't huge, It is quite roomy and built like a tank. It has been very reliable, is clean, very safe and runs very strong. The engine and transmission are excellent and it has been very well maintained. There are no strange noises, rattles or shakes of any kind. Just solid, smooth and quiet. It has the 3.2 VR6 motor which has an impressive power band, good torque and loves the highway. It's also very comfortable, attractive and very well optioned. Every single thing in the car works well and the AC blows freezing cold. It does need a little TLC though to make it perfect again. The headliner is beginning to sag a little in the trunk area but nothing too serious, my daughter Maya had a red crayon incident on one of the rear pillars but I'm working on that with a Clorox wipe as I type this. Carfax will show this vehicle was involved in a collision but NO METAL or body panel on the vehicle was ever damaged or hit. There was very light damage that occurred to the passenger side, lower front bumper area which was dealer repaired. They repainted the bumper and replaced some plastic molding and a fog light. That's it.

I recently took it to my VW dealer for service and maintenance, they've always been very reasonable and decent with me, I've been buying from them since 2000 and also own a GTI...this latest Touareg makes this our 9th VW. I had a light come on the dash recently and was told that I need to replace a (small electrical) stepper motor in the front differential, it is associated with "Hill Descent Control" and does not affect the way the car drives but is a common fault on this SUV. The driveshaft on this SUV can also be a problem but I already replaced it with an upgraded Porsche Cayenne driveshaft. Bear in mind these two vehicles share the same chassis platform, along with many of their parts. The battery was replaced 6 months ago. Aside from tires, fresh brake pads and an oil change which I was about to do, my service advisor diagnosed and fully examined the vehicle and here is exactly and only what it needs: Nothing more. He explained these are not critically urgent items that need to be replaced, but for best performance, they should be done within the next 6 months.

All used vehicles will need something, they always do, at least here you know exactly what it is. No surprises, no excuses, no disappointments, just a good car that will not let you down. With everything I have disclosed, this vehicle runs excellent and would still drive you across the US and back if you took it tomorrow morning. You can drive it anywhere. I guarantee it. (I WILL EITHER BUY THE STEPPER MOTOR OR THE TIRES w INSTALLATION FOR THE WINNING BIDDER) Please let me know which you prefer at end of listing.

I have disclosed all known issues and described this vehicle to the best of my ability, please feel free to call Dan @ 305-495-1942 if you have any additional questions I have not addressed. I am happy to help. Thank you for your consideration.

2018 Buick Regal TourX vs. wagon competitors: How it compares on paper

Wed, Jan 31 2018

To the great joy of auto enthusiasts nationwide, wagons are back! Well, at least there's a few more of them. The latest is the 2018 Buick Regal TourX, which we just had our first drive of and found to actually be quite good with pleasant handling, solid power and plenty of space. But, how does the TourX compare to other cladded wagons? Well, let's dive into the specs and fire up the ol' spreadsheet maker for Buick Regal TourX vs Subaru Outback vs Audi A4 Allroad vs VW Alltrack vs Volvo V60 Cross Country. True, some are from mainstream brands and others are from luxury marques, but Buick straddles both realms, so it's appropriate to look at them all. Of course, there's more to these cars than just the numbers, but they're still important, and in the case of this class of crossover-aping wagons, can vary more than you'd expect. So check out the specs in the chart below, which are followed by more analysis and photos of each. Discover and compare other wagons and crossovers with our Car Finder and Compare tools. Engines and Transmissions When comparing powertrains, the Buick is far-and-away the winner as far as torque is concerned, and is in a nearly three-way tie for horsepower. Its 295 pound-feet of torque is 22 lb-ft more twist than the next-most-grunty Audi A4 Allroad. And in regards to power, the Buick's 250-horsepower engine is only down 6 hp to the most-powerful Subaru and its optional naturally aspirated flat-six, and just 2 hp less than the Audi. At the bottom of the pack is the Subaru Outback with the standard naturally aspirated flat-four, which only makes 174 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. That may not seem too bad compared with the VW Golf Alltrack, which only makes 170 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque, but the VW is much lighter by between 200 and 300 pounds. Transmission-wise, there's quite a bit of variation in the group. The Regal TourX and the Volvo V60 Cross Country rely on eight-speed automatics, all Outbacks use CVTs, and the Alltrack and Allroad have dual-clutch automated manual transmissions with six and seven gears, respectively. But for people that want to shift for themselves, the only option is the Volkswagen, which offers a traditional six-speed manual transmission on the Golf Alltrack. Cargo and Interior Space One of the main reasons to buy a wagon is for the body style's large cargo capacity. And for the most space for things and stuff, you'll want to check out the Subaru and the Buick.

6 cars that are eligible for import to the U.S. in 2023

Wed, Jan 18 2023

For car enthusiasts, the most exciting part of ringing in a new year is watching the list of import-eligible cars grow. Federal regulations make bringing a late-model car from Europe or Asia mind-bogglingly difficult, but these barriers fall as soon as a vehicle turns 25. There's no need to slash through a jungle of red tape; simply ship your dream forbidden fruit over, pay import duties, and in most states you're good to park a fresh import car in your garage. Of course, you need to locate any car you're considering importing, whether it's on this list of cars you can import in 2023 or not. A quick search of the internet will show that there are a lot of places that specialize in sourcing cars to import into the United States, and while we don't have any firsthand experience with any of them, we can point out a few well-known import car dealers, including some at auction. Duncan Imports and Classics bills itself as "America's Largest JDM Dealer" and keeps a large inventory of vehicles that have already been brought into the States. The Import Guys boast options to ship and finance worldwide, Davey Japan claims to have exported over 50,000 vehicles from Japan, and Goonet Exchange says it's operated by "Japan's largest used car information site." Japanese site Be Forward lists a staggering 10,949 online reviews at the time of writing with an average score of around 4.5 out of 5 stars. If your new year's resolution is to buy a car from overseas, here are some of the highlights from 2023's crop of importable cars. Keep in mind that some of these import cars were introduced in 1997 but didn't enter production until 1998, while others made their debut late in the year. And without further ado, here is a list of six cars that are eligible for import to the U.S. in 2023 that are worth noting. Cars that are eligible to import into the U.S. in 2023 Alfa Romeo 166 Developed to replace the 164, the 166 stands out as Alfa Romeo's last true flagship sedan; it wasn't directly replaced. It shares its front-wheel-drive platform with the Lancia Kappa but the two cars look nothing alike. Alfa Romeo gave the big sedan a smooth, relatively elegant design that borrows several styling cues from the smaller 156.

2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR is black and yellow, black and yellow

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Way back in 1973, Volkswagen decided it was high time to take the loveable air-cooled Bug racing. No, it wasn't painted in Herbie colors - Volkswagen called its sport-tuned machine the Beetle GSR, "Gelb Schwarzer Renner" or "Yellow Black Racer." Hence, the somewhat shocking paint scheme.
VW is bringing its sporty black and yellow Beetle back for 2014, and you can see live photos of it above. It's got a 210-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood (that'd be the hood up front, unlike the car's forebear), and a six-speed manual or DSG automatic transmission sends those ponies to the front wheels. Note that this car's output is up 10 horses on other turbo VWs, and the Jetta GLI and Beetle Turbo for 2013. The 0-60 run takes 6.6 seconds, and top speed is limited to 130 miles per hour.
Besides the in-your-face black and yellow paint, the GSR is outfitted with a large rear spoiler and 19-inch wheels shod with 235/40 tires. The bee-like hue carries over inside, with yellow stitching on black leather. Only 3,500 will be produced, each with its own unique plaque. Pricing has not yet been announced, but you're free to read through the press release below all the same.
