2004 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG
3.2L V6 Engine , Auto Triptronic Transmission, 85,700 Miles

Hi. I have up for auction a very clean VW Touareg.  It runs and drives great, and it needs nothing to drive every day. Interior and exterior is clean, and like new.  Good tires, good brakes, and everything works.

I am a licensed car dealer in the Greater Cincinnati area, located just 5 miles from the Cincinnati International Airport.  We can pick you up from the airport, so if you wish, you can fly in and drive it home.  We charge $15.00 for your 30 day tag and that is it.  We take care of all the title paper work, and you have 30 days to pay your taxes.

Listed below is everything that we know about the vehicle, all cars sold by us go through an inspection process, oil change, etc.  Also, we do not sell cars that have any mechanical issues of any kind.  I have personally driven this suv 400 miles, and there is nothing wrong with it what so ever.  Very clean Carfax with buy back gurantee in the glovebox.

The Engine runs excellent, sounds excellent.  No issues.  No leaks.  Starts right up.  No check engine lights, engine bay is very clean, fresh oil change.

The Transmission shifts perfect.  No issues.

The Drivetrain is excellent. The AWD works perfect.  It rides smooth.  It travels down the road very nice and tight, I have personally had this suv up to 110 mph with no issues, no shimmies, no shaking.  Goes right in 4WD Low.  Tires are all matching and have 70-80% tread left.

The Interior is excellent.  Seats are in great shape.  Everything works., everything!  The only blemishes on the inside is the down volume button on the steering wheel, I had to touch it up with trim paint, you wouldn't notice it unless I pointed it out.  Also, the paint on the garage door open button has worn off, its black now.  It has all the options except Navigation.  It has Parking assist, power windows, power locks, power seats, moonroof, heated seats, tinted windows, awd, speed control, auto dimming mirrors, steering wheel audio controls, cruise control.

The Exterior is very nice.  The paint is nice.  The only blemishes being a ding on the driver side rear quarter and a scratch in the same area, very hard to notice, and 3 of the VW emblems on the wheel center caps have fallen off , and that is it.  Everything else is great.   No accidents, no paint work.

Thanks.

Next VW GTI to get 10-speed dual-clutch gearbox

Wed, Nov 26 2014

Following on Volkswagen's official announcement that it was working on a ten-speed, dual-clutch transmission, Auto Express has it on "good authority" that the new transmission will end up in the next GTI, GTD and Golf R. The brand's current seven-speed will be retained for lesser eight-generation Golfs. While the new gearbox won't be limited to just the higher-end Golf range, the new hatchback, expected in 2017, will be the first to get it, Auto Express reports. The new DSG is the same size as the Volkswagen Group's seven-speed dual-clutch, and will easily fit into VAG's MQB platform, so we should expect it to filter into the rest of the Group's vehicles, much like the seven-speed 'box has. The ten-speed is likely to see applications beyond even the small cars of the MQB platform. The gearbox can handle 405 pound-feet of torque, according to AE, making its application in larger offerings such as the gas-powered MLB cars and crossovers a likelihood. Beyond the new gearbox, Volkswagen is also toying with mild-hybrid tech for the standard Golf and better batteries for the e-Golf. As we said, expect the new Golf to arrive in European markets in 2017, with the current Euro-market Golf getting updated next year. As for the US, we wouldn't be surprised if VW followed the trail blazed by the Mark 7, with a North American arrival for the eight-gem Golf slated for a year or so after sales in Europe begin.

Tanner Foust checks out his new VW Beetle GRC rally car

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

Racing driver and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is a very busy guy. After all, he's competing in rounds of both Global Rallycross series and FIA World Rallycross Championship, not to mention his TV duties. However, we probably shouldn't feel too sorry for him, because his job puts him behind the wheel of some truly crazy machinery.
Case in point is his latest ride in Global Rallycross - the Volkswagen Beetle GRC. The German company claims that this all-wheel drive Bug makes around 540 horsepower from its 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and can shoot to 60 in under 2 seconds. Plus, if this video is any indication, this Volkswagen sounds like a machine gun when throwing revs at idle, and it can do some wonderfully easy four-wheel drifts.
Previously, Foust was driving a VW Polo for Andretti Autosport in GRC, but the team unveiled the look of the Beetle GRC at the Chicago Auto Show. Now, Foust is finally getting to show off his new office to the public, and like VW's tagline for the new car claims, it's way hotter than Herbie.

Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers

Sun, Mar 29 2015

As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top.
