2004 Volkswagen Touareg V8 Awd on 2040-cars
Gainesville, Georgia, United States
For auction is a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg AWD V8 in Highway Ready Condition. I have owned this VW for about 2 years and 5 months. It drives like really well and is loaded with really nice features. The interior in great shape which includeds leather in front and back as well as heated seats front/rear. Air bags front, rear and side made this vehicle a easy and safe choice for me. In the last year the vechicle has received new front/back brakes which includes rotors, brakes and sensors. Also the tires are less than 6 months old with 50,000 mile warranty from Discount Tire. The oil has been changed at the dealership on regular intervals. The right front axle was replace about six months ago it vehicle was making clicking noise during right turns. Turns out right axle had a bad spot which i hear is common to the Touareg vehicles. The majority of the service for this vechicle has been done at the local dealership here, they charge a little more but at least the service is top of the line as well as they give warranty. I have loaded several pictures but the pictures don't do it the VW any justice. Exterior is great condition. Only minors scrathes and dings in doors, the likley cause of that is persons at the supermarket and such parking to close and hitting the doors with their doors. This has been a great vehicle for me but I need to sell it as I need a car which will better suit my everyday commute to school. I still have a small amout owed on this vehicle with the local Bank of America, but i have already spoken to them about the sale and the title would be released with 2 weeks of payoff. At that point i will sign title and overnight it at my expense. Thanks for looking.. Feel Free to ask any other questions.

Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe is a green fun-machine we want to drive
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Think back to January's Detroit Auto Show. Those of you that are fans of the Volkswagen brand, impressed with green technology or simply fall into the "diesel geek" category, will almost certainly remember VW's CrossBlue concept with its diesel/electric hybrid powertrain, seating for seven, and somewhat awkward crossover styling. It was an impressive piece of future tech, to be sure, though it left something to be desired in the, well, desirability department.
Here in Shanghai, VW has brought along a CrossBlue Coupe concept that would seem to include most of the goodness of the original, but flavored with more sport and style this time around.
The CrossBlue Coupe makes use of the same electric drive components as the larger three-row concept: two electric motors (front and rear) powered by a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. However, where the original concept made use of a TDI four-cylinder, the Coupe substitutes a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6.
VW's Winterkorn tells 20,000 staffers of big cost-cutting plans
Thu, 24 Jul 2014During a gathering of 20,000 Volkswagen Group employees at company headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany on Wednesday, CEO Martin Winterkorn dropped a bombshell. The boss stated that the automaker isn't operating efficiently enough and admitted the company needs to radically start cutting back to raise its profit margins. To right the ship, Winterkorn has proposed killing off less profitable models and spending less on research and development.
According to Reuters, Winterkorn wants to raise the VW brand's profit margin from about 2.9 percent in 2013 to a target of 6 percent. To make that possible, his plan amounts to increasing cost cutting until Volkswagen reaches about 5 billion euros ($6.7 billion) per year to get things back in order. "Over the short-term, we urgently need more efficiency and higher profit," the CEO said during his speech, according to Reuters.
However, Winterkorn can't make these decisions unilaterally. Volkswagen's works council also has a seat on the supervisory board to represent laborers, and it isn't likely to take the proposed cuts sitting down.
Volkswagen looking to acquire Proton, Lotus?
Thu, 26 Jul 2012Let's say you're an automaker bent on world domination looking to grow your sales. That's going to have you looking at Asian markets, because that's where some of the biggest growth has been, and that's exactly what Volkswagen is doing as it considers making another run at Malaysia's Proton.
Reuters reports that Volkswagen is interested in at least a partial stake, if not a controlling interest in Lotus-parent Proton as a way to continue a production presence in the region without having to build its own factory.
Volkswagen already builds the Passat in a DRB-HICOM facility in Pekan, Malaysia, and plans are in place to build the Jetta and Polo there, as well. With both southeast Asia and its relationship with Proton figuring so importantly in Volkswagen's plans for expansion, buying into Proton can help ensure stability. Volkswagen is being tight-lipped about the whole idea, but CEO Martin Winterkorn did recently say, "it's our clear goal to continue the successful (expansion) course of past years with great dynamics and stability," which sounds an awful lot like deals are on the table to smooth the path to further growth.
