2004 Volkswagen Touareg 4.2l V8 Awd 66,000 Miles ! Excellent Condition ! on 2040-cars
Boca Raton, Florida, United States
HERE WE HAVE A 2004 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG WITH THE LEGENDARY 4.2L V8. THIS TOUAREG IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE (66,000) AND MAY BE THE NICEST ONE OF ITS KIND CURRENTLY FOR SALE! TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES WITH THIS SUV, EVERYTHING WORKS. IN FACT, I WAS TEMPTED TO HOLD ON TO THIS CAR DUE TO THE CONDITION; HOWEVER, WE JUST BOUGHT A NEW CAR AND SIMPLY DO NOT NEED TWO VEHICLES RITE NOW. I APOLOGIZE FOR SOME OF THE PICTURES AS THE CAR HAD JUST BEEN WAXED; CONSEQUENTLY, THERE IS HIGH REFLECTION OF THE CLOUDS OVERHEAD WHEN I TOOK THE PICTURES. THE PAINT IS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS, THE CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED KEPT. I PURCHASED THIS TOUAREG IN SAN DIEGO ( A REGION KNOWN AS AN EXCELLENT AREA TO FIND USED CARS DO TO THE LOW HUMIDITY ) AND DROVE IT ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO FLORIDA LAST DECEMBER. THIS CAR IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST HANDLING AND FUN VEHICLES I HAVE EVER DRIVEN, PARTICULARLY ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE V6, TDI, AND V8 DRIVETRAINS, IF YOU WANT PERFORMANCE, THEN YOU WANT THE V8 … THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES; HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL OR WANT ADDITIONAL PICTURES OF CERTAIN PARTS OF THE CAR PLEASE CALL ME. BID WITH CONFIDENCE AS I HAVE A PERFECT FEEDBACK SCORE AND WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. ALSO, PLEASE GO THROUGH MY FEEDBACK COMMENTS AS I HAVE SOLD SEVERAL VEHICLES OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS AND ALL OF THE COMMENTS WERE EXCELLENT, THANK YOU.

2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD is our favorite oil-burning GTI
Tue, 05 Mar 2013
The 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD has officially bowed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Engineers managed to squeeze an additional 14 horsepower and 22 pound-feet of torque out of the familiar 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, nudging total output to 184 hp and 280 lb-ft for 2014. The figures are good enough to earn the GTD the honor of being the most powerful diesel Golf in Volkswagen history. A start/stop system helps improve efficiency over the previous generation with the new model consuming 56 miles per gallon on the EU cycle. That's up from the 2013 model's 46 mpg. A six-speed manual transmission is standard equipment, though a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox is also available.
The GTD also offers buyers a few aesthetic tweaks to help separate the hatch from its less potent siblings. Those include a more aggressive front fascia, special badges and 17-inch alloy wheels. Expect to find the GTD in one of three exterior colors, including Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. Check out the quick press release below for more details.
Bentley Bentayga bodies to be built in Bratislava
Sun, Apr 12 2015Volkswagen's plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, has come a long way. After getting its start in 1971 by subcontracting the production of Skoda-branded vehicles, the plant was purchased by VW in 1991, where it was quickly put to further good use as it began producing Volkswagen Passat models for export. More recently, Bratislava has become a bastion for SUVs, assembling the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne, in addition to the VW Touareg. Color us unsurprised, then, to learn that the Bentley Bentayga, which will be built atop the same large SUV platform as its cousins from Audi, Porsche and VW, will also be used for at least part of the production of Bentley's first SUV. Surely, though, one of the hallmarks of the Bentley brand is that its cars are handmade in England. Won't the Bentley-buying populace feel slighted by production in Slovakia? Not to worry. As is the case with the Porsche Cayenne, all that will be produced in Slovakia is the Bentayga's body. According to a report from Automotive News, bodies for the Bentayga will be shipped from Bratislava to Crewe, England, where they will be finished into fully operational vehicles. In order to accommodate the additional work, VW will reportedly invest 500 million euros into the plant in Slovakia and hire hundreds of workers.
Auction for first US VW e-Golf raises $41,400 for Global Green charity
Thu, Nov 6 2014Would having Jay Leno on hand have changed the outcome? That's what executives at Volkswagen might be asking after the German automaker auctioned off the company's first electric car in the US for around $6,000 over MSRP. VW auctioned off the first Volkswagen e-Golf in the US to raise money for the environmental non-profit Global Green USA. Bruce Oberg, an EV enthusiast and previous VW owner, proudly cut a $41,400 check for the car, which has a 116 miles per gallon-equivalent rating and is said to be able to go about 80 miles on a single charge. At your local dealer (depending on where you live), the e-Golf starts at $35,445. Sales start later this month in 11 states: California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, Oregon, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Washington, DC. The $6,000 premium for first-dib rights for the e-Golf is nice, but it doesn't compare to what BMW worked out this summer. In August, the first i8 plug-in hybrid in the US was auctioned off at California's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance for $825,000 (to an unidentified buyer). That's about six times the car's sticker price, but this special edition came with Louis Vuitton luggage and was presented by noted car buff Leno. VW's press release below. VOLKSWAGEN E-GOLF RAISES MONEY TO BENEFIT GLOBAL GREEN USA AFTER A SUCCESSFUL CHARITY AUCTION Nov 4, 2014 Winning bidder claims first VW electric vehicle as the car begins to ship to select U.S. dealerships Herndon, VA (November 4, 2014) – Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced that the auction of the first 2015 all-electric Volkswagen e-Golf has raised $41,400, with proceeds benefitting the national environmental non-profit Global Green USA and its efforts to advance smart solutions to climate change. The winner of the auction, which ran from October 8–29 on CharityBuzz.com, became the first U.S. driver to own Volkswagen's all-new, fully-electric vehicle. "Volkswagen's commitment to e-mobility and sustainability runs deep. We could not be more proud that the e-Golf has helped raise money to benefit the efforts of Global Green USA, an organization that shares in our dedication to the environment," said Michael Horn, president and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
