Very nice luxury car best Volkswagen has ever made. Rivals the 7 series BWM, Lexus, or Mercedes Benz. Some say nicer. Same car as the Bentley Flying Star, same engine as the Audi 8. This was the final year they imported them in the United States and the best year. Also the rarest year. They imported just over 1900 Phaetons in 2004, 820 in 2005, and 235 in 2006. For this year wheels are much more updated style makes car look like 2010 model rather than the 2004 wheels. Shocks now independent and still available; if you buy an 2004 if one shock goes out you must replace all four and modules and electric to the tune of $10,000. That was changed in 2005 that expense is drastically reduced. Beware of 2004. Also this year has automatic door closing. Beyond the factory fully loaded features this Phaeton also has parking assist, electronic trunk, Comfort/cold weather package, Technology package.
The W8 is very dependable and parts and repairs simple and inexpensive. The mpg of the W8 is simply amazing on the highway I am getting around 24 for a car this heavy going 75mph. Many love the sound of the W8 best. Tested at 335 hp to go 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. This the final year imported and by far the least available and most desirable. And this car has almost 5 years and a 74,000 warranty that transfers free to an individual who buys (but not a dealer).
Third owner last owner diamond store dealer in Oklahoma. Clean no accident car fax and AutoCheck. Interior appears mint. Paint appears garage kept and nice. Tires are brand new Sumitomo HTR A/S PO1 tires ultra high performance very well rated and proper size and rating for this car. Perhaps 250 miles on tires. Batteries (it has two) one new last year second (and bigger) battery brand new Die Hard Gold best of the best (made by Odysses batteries like the Platinum--Platinum would not fit in the space in the trunk). Water pump, timing belt and thermostat and serpentine belt brand new perhaps 500 miles. New TPMS module and new TPMS sensors on all five wheels. OEM navigation. Still has almost 5 years and 75,000 warranty on it from 1,000 miles ago and transferable to buyer as long as buyer is not a dealer.
The Warranty is called Auto Advance Preffered (the most coverage) by American Colonial. The local Lexus dealer where I bought the car sold it to me as part of the deal. Very basic and limited but BETTER THAN NOTHING and free to the buyer. Some have asked me for the carfax there is a free AutoCheck as part of this auction you are welcome to log in to carfax.com and pull a carfax for yourself. Some have asked me for VW service records call any VW dealer and give them the VIN they can pull any maintenance that a VW dealer has done.
$500 paypal deposit within 24 hours sale. Cash or bank wire transfer within 3 days. Can assist in shipping at buyer's cost. Happy to pick you up at Oklahoma City airport. NO CASHIERS CHECKS, NO MONEY ORDERS, NO CHECKS OF ANY KIND. Still driven so mileage will vary.

TN politicians may push to end VW incentives if plant goes union
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Volkswagen's Chattanooga Assembly Plant is scheduled to vote on whether to unionize in the coming days, but Tennessee state lawmakers are threatening to deny future tax subsidies to the factory, if the vote is successful. The factory is currently the only Volkswagen plant worldwide that is not unionized.
The states's Republican lawmakers have been particularly vocal against the union vote. Tennessee state senator Bo Watson said during a press conference that VW would have a "very tough time" with future incentives if the vote were successful, according to Automotive News. Tennessee House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick said the "heavy hand" of the UAW is not welcome there. VW has drawn criticism from both sides because it has allowed both pro- and anti-union groups to speak to workers and hand out leaflets.
Roughly 1,500 factory employees will vote on whether to unionize from February 12-14. If successful, the Chattanooga factory would be the first in the US organized under a German-style works council system where white- and blue-collar workers directly negotiate factory issues with the company's management.
VW Sport Coupe Concept GTE 'marks beginning of a new design era' [w/video]
Mon, Mar 2 2015You didn't think that Volkswagen was going to come to Geneva armed only with a bunch of European-market minivans and wagons, did you? Of course not. Last week VW gave us our first glimpse at a new show car for the Swiss auto expo, and here it is in full: the Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE. Set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this week, the Sport Coupe is envisioned as a successor to the current CC, but beyond previewing a specific model, this concept showcases a new design language that's set to characterize all new VWs to come. And judging by how good it looks from the images in the slideshow above, that could prove to be a very good thing indeed. The concept strikes us as the sleekest iteration yet of the company's flexible MQB architecture that already underpins vehicles as small as the Golf and as large as the new Skoda Superb. It's larger than the current CC in every dimension but height, and pushes the wheels further out on a longer wheelbase. And with a liftgate at the back instead of a trunk, it strikes a form more similar to the Audi A7 than the Passat-based CC. As with recent past concepts, VW has taken the opportunity to showcase its hybrid powertrain technologies, fitting the Sport Coupe with a plug-in hybrid system that couples a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 to a pair of electric motors and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The internal combustion engine drives 295 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels, while an electric motor integrated into the gearbox contributes another 54 hp and a second one kicks in 114 hp at the rear. Juiced by a lithium-ion battery housed in the center tunnel and offering all-wheel traction, the combined output of 374 hp is said to be capable of propelling the concept to 62 miles per hour in five seconds flat and on to a top speed of 155 mph. It can travel for 32 miles on electric power alone and on to an overall range of 745 miles, netting the equivalent of 118 miles per gallon on the European cycle. Inside, the four-seat cabin is laden with digital displays: there's a 12.3-inch unit – dominated by the speedo and power meter – in place of a conventional instrument cluster. The center stack incorporates a 10.1-inch infotainment display, and the rear-seat passengers have access to another 12.3-inch display at the back of the center console and another pair of 10.1-inch displays in the seatbacks.
When Android Automotive goes in the dash, Google wins — and automakers lose data
Tue, May 22 2018You've gotta hand it to Google for the way the Silicon Valley tech giant has made indelible inroads into the car on multiple fronts. The most obvious is with its pioneering self-driving car technology that's caused car companies to get their act together on autonomous vehicles — and also collaborate with Google. Google has more directly extended its influence and data-mining capabilities into the car with its Android Auto smartphone-projection platform that most major automakers have adopted along with Apple's CarPlay. And now it's preparing to dig even deeper into dashboards by deploying its open-source operating system, Android Automotive, beginning with Audi and Volvo. Volvo recently announced that its next-generation Sensus infotainment system will run Android Automotive as an OS and include Google's Play Store for cloud-based content, Maps for navigation and Google Assistant for voice recognition, which can even command a car's climate control. By embedding Google in the dash, Volvo says owners will get an improved connected experience. "Bringing Google services into Volvo cars will accelerate innovation in connectivity and boost our development in applications and connected services," Volvo senior vice president of R&D Henrik Green said in a statement. "Soon, Volvo drivers will have direct access to thousands of in-car apps that make daily life easier and the connected in-car experience more enjoyable." Having Android Automotive onboard could benefit drivers — and provide a big win for Google, since it opens a deep and lucrative new data-mining vein for the company. But it's a wave of a white flag for car companies when it comes to delivering their own cloud-based content and services. It also represents a massive data giveaway and, for Audi, a reversal of earlier reservations about letting Google get too much access to car data. Not long after Android Auto and Apple CarPlay were introduced in 2014 and most automakers eagerly embraced the technologies, several German automakers second-guessed their decision when they realized what was at stake: data. At a conference in Berlin in 2015, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said car owners "want to be in control of their data, and not subject to monitoring." A few months earlier, Stadler stated that "the data that we collect is our data and not Google's.
