This vehicle has received dealer attention only since I purchased it in 2010. All of the known issues have been addressed and many many preventative measures taken as well.I will make available for serious buyers a link to a Dropbox folder with the entire service history and many more photos since I have owned the vehicle. I would describe the car as very very nice for its age......I am selling the car as another purchase opportunity presented itself but I needed to act quickly...so I did and now I need to sell the Phaeton.
Extra's include keyless ignition, Audi S8 wheels with summer tires as shoen in the pics,Original Challenger wheels with snows,oem trunk mat,oem trunk safety triangle and oem winter rubber mats with original plastic hangers. Now the dings.... scuff on the rear bumper cover near the license plate,the front bumper has the classic cracks in it and I chose not to repair it this winter planning to do it this summer until the other vehicle opportunity showed up so now I intend to leave it for the buyer to repair so that should it crack again (sadly very common because of incorrect re-install) it will be done by the vendor of your choice and you will have a claim in your local market. Also some of the interior wood trim is showing some minor cracks and glazing as is typical for this vehicle. FYI the pics were taken by the dealership staff inside their service area a month or so ago as it was still winter here and they had just detailed the car for me and could shoot it inside. |

VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt

Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.
Bentley considering diesel engine for new SUV
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Turns out, in case you didn't know, the rich are just like regular people. They too are concerned about the environment, even when tooling around town in their super-luxurious Bentleys. So the automaker is weighing the idea of offering a diesel engine in its SUV offering, which could help satisfy customers' demands for more fuel-efficient engines.
Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Schreiber told Autoblog in a roundtable interview at the Geneva Auto Show that the automaker is researching whether or not a diesel engine makes sense for the brand. Bentley, owned by the Volkswagen Group, could in theory use a diesel engine from anywhere in the Volkswagen Group family. We at Autoblog have hopes they'll revive the V10 TDI used in the VW Touareg until 2010, but ever-stricter emissions laws would likely make that problematic.
But rich people aren't so much like us that they'll be worried about petty things like pricing. Schreiber admitted the diesel engine could be a $15,000 option, which he said customers would probably find "acceptable." Given that the cheapest Bentley today starts at $177,000, typical customers probably won't be diddling around worrying about an extra 15 grand.
Audi CVT suit settlement given green light, 64,000 cars covered
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Audi drivers, listen up. If you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6 with a factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that failed, you may be entitled to reimbursement under a recently settled class-action lawsuit with corporate parent Volkswagen.
According to Automotive News, the settlement covers about 64,000 vehicles and alleges that "manufacturing and design problems caused the transmissions to fail and left owners stuck with repair costs." While the suit also argues Audi was aware of these issues (going so far as to hide that knowledge from consumers), the settlement stops short of acknowledging any wrongdoing by the German automaker.
Audi drivers are eligible for a cash reimbursement if their CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles of the date they bought or leased the vehicle before June 19, 2013. To be eligible for compensation, drivers must submit a claim form (found here) with supporting documents by November 18.
