For sale is 2013 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT SE TDI with Premium Package. It comes with automatic transmission , power windows, doors, mirrors, A/C, cruise, 18 inch aluminum wheels, sunroof, heated seats, navigation, Bluetooth, ABS and much more. The vehicle has 22000 miles and it is in very good condition. This vehicle does around 45 mpg on the highway and around 40 mpg city driving, i have test driven the car for over 500 miles and have done over 50 mpg on the highway. However, we bought this vehicle from an insurance company and it was damaged on the front . We have replaced the hood, the right fender,left and right headlights and front bumper cover. We operate a professional body shop that has been in business of restoring salvage vehicle for over 10 years. We are the largest salvage rebuilder in Charlotte and one of the largest in NC. We work according to factory specifications and measurements all our cars go thru alignment once they are fixed(check the alignment report along with other pics). Our pictures are taken from close proximity so you can see the car in details. VW consumer site finally gets configurator tool back
Tue, Mar 10 2015The traditional vehicle configurator is back on the Volkswagen US consumer website, and it works very well. The company now lets visitors create a virtual model to their own specs and then search for a match among dealer inventories, as is the norm from most automakers. Last summer, Volkswagen tried to break the mold with its thoroughly redesigned consumer website in the US. It sported a slick design but made the highly controversial change of removing the configurator. Instead, visitors were narrowing their selection from a searchable database of models already at dealers. While the streamlined approach immediately told users if their desired car was available, the system also largely hid the prices for options and packages. The newly tweaked design retains the previous tablet-oriented layout, but after clicking a model, the site immediately offers "Build Yours." From there, visitors select a trim, and then the vehicle pops up with options to choose things like colors and packages. The whole layout is clean, features large buttons and works quickly. At the summary page, there's still the opportunity to search for the user's choice in dealer inventories. This is definitely a major improvement.
Volkswagen sketches Geneva-bound concept
Wed, Feb 25 2015Volkswagen has released a pair of sketches that give us our first official glimpse at the company's new concept car, set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Details are slim – the car doesn't even have a name yet – but we do have some facts about VW's swoopy new showcar. First off, it's a sedan – well, "four-door coupe" – but is said to have a hatchback configuration. Autoblog has also learned that the car will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a TSI gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, and uses an all-wheel-drive configuration that's likely similar to that in the recently unveiled Cross Coupe GTE concept. Volkswagen says this showcar uses a new, progressive design language for the brand. And while it sort of looks like a dead ringer for a new CC, we're told this concept is positioned above that model. For now, that's all we know, but we expect a host of other details to be released closer to the car's official debut in Geneva next week. Stay tuned. Volkswagen planning Up! hybrid model using XL1 powertrain
Sun, 24 Feb 2013Even though we've finally gotten a look at the production version of the 261-mile per gallon Volkswagen XL1, this aero-shaped two-seater was never intended for high-volume sales. Fortunately, it sounds like the same isn't true for the car's diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain, which, according to a report from AutoCar, could make its way under the hood of another Volkswagen model: the Up! minicar (shown above).
A potential Up! Hybrid would likely be able to return some of the same impressive fuel economy numbers as the XL1, but it would be a more realistic car with more passenger space and greater production capacity. The hand-built XL1 will use a 47-horsepower, two-cylinder TDI engine paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the 27-hp electric motor and lithium-ion battery helps deliver an all-electric driving range of 31 miles.
One of the core pillars of the XL1's design is its lightweight construction with a 1752-pound curb weight, which makes the Up! a perfect recipient for using this powertrain since it weighs just 300 pounds more. The report says that the Up! Hybrid is still in the developmental phase, so a production version isn't expected for at least another 18 months.
