Hello,

2007 VW Passat Wagon.
The vehicle is in great condition,
we purchased the vehicle from the
dealership in Detroit a little over a year ago.
The dealership had installed new brakes prior
to us taking ownership, & this past winter
a complete set of new
Continental Contact Extreme DWS
ultra-performance all-season tires
where installed along with having a 4-wheel alignment performed.
The car is FWD and is outfitted with the high-output 3.6L narrow-V6
along with a trip-tronic 6-speed auto/manual transmission.
The car has received a tune-up, a K&N cold-air intake installed, as well as, a custom exhaust.
The vehicle has the optional premium Dyn-Audio with an in dash 6-disc CD/MP3 player.
The vehicle has dual digital climate controls,
AC, cruise, heated power mirrors, heated power seats,
charcoal metallic grey exterior with black leather interior.
The vehicle has just over 100k miles, the majority of which have been highway.
Fully serviced every 3k miles using VW synthetic.
The vehicle is outfitted with the
optional 18" premium factory wheels,
which have been dipped black,
and also included is a new full size matching spare 18" wheel/tire.
The vehicle is equipped with LED daytime running lights,
LED brake lights & turn signals, and has the HID adaptive headlights.
The vehicle has the optional automatic rain sensing windshield wipers.
The car is outfitted with the factory all-weather-floor-mats.
The windshield was replaced by VW just before winter, and is free from nicks, scratches, and cracks.
The oil was just recently changed and new wiper blades installed, as well as, the tires where just rotated.
The vehicle was serviced last week by the dealership in Traverse City, where regular routine
maintenance was performed which included an entire front suspension upgrade / replacement.
Copies of the vehicles repairs and maintenance are available, and the vehicle does
have an optional bumper-to-bumper warranty that comes with it.
The new purchasers will need to transfer this into their name(s),
where a $70 transfer charge will be incurred.
A clean, stylish, sporty, yet economical means of transportation.
It has a low and aggressive stance and
is nimble & agile around the corners and turns.
It's not your "mom's" station wagon, with a low 6.6 second 0-60 mph time,
however, less expensive to own and insure, & attains 20's mpg in the city & 30's mpg on the highway.
And there is plenty of room for the whole family!  How can you go wrong!
The only reason my wife & I are selling is due to liquidity for home purchase.
The vehicle has a clear green title, and is ready in hand.
(Please no time waster's -> ie: LowBaller's & Tire-Kicker's)
Any questions, or to schedule a test drive call / text us today at: (517) 930-3078.
The vehicle is one of our daily drivers, and as such, mileage will continue to go up.
Thanks for looking!

VW offers to buy back new diesels if bans introduced

Thu, Mar 29 2018

By Maria Sheahan FRANKFURT, Germany — Volkswagen will buy back new diesel cars if German cities ban them, it said on Thursday, seeking to reassure potential buyers and stem a plunge in sales of diesel vehicles. Europe's biggest automaker also said it would extend incentives for buyers of new diesel cars. The moves come after a German court ruled last month that cities in the country could ban the most polluting diesel vehicles from their streets. Many German cities exceed European Union limits on atmospheric nitrogen oxide, known to cause respiratory diseases. Fears of bans have led to a plunge in demand for diesel vehicles, which are also key to carmakers' attempts to meet new EU rules on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. While diesel cars are heavily criticized for emitting nitrogen oxide, they spew out less CO2 than gasoline equivalents. Diesel car sales plunged 19 percent in Germany last month. At its core VW brand, Volkswagen said its buyback offer applied to new diesels bought between April 1 and the end of 2018 and would kick in if the city in which the buyer lived or worked banned diesels within three years of the purchase. It said its dealerships would buy back diesel vehicles affected by bans at their current value if their owners at the same time bought a new vehicle that was not affected by cities' driving restrictions. At Czech brand Skoda, the guarantee applies to cars bought between April 1 and the end of June, but will cover bans introduced within four years of the purchase date. At premium brand Audi, the offer only covers leased vehicles. Volkswagen also said it was extending to the end of June incentives for customers trading in older diesels for new ones. Fellow German carmaker BMW said earlier this month it would offer to take back leased vehicles if diesels were banned within 100 kilometers (62 miles) of the operator's home or place of work. There has been a global backlash against diesel-engine cars since Volkswagen admitted in 2015 to cheating U.S. exhaust tests. But Germany's government is seeking to avoid widespread bans on heavily polluting diesel vehicles, which companies say could cut the resale value of up to 15 million vehicles in Europe's biggest car market. In Germany, where motorists expect to drive powerful cars on motorways with no speed limits, any restrictions will be unpopular.

Skoda plans big investment into electric cars as part of rebound effort

Wed, Mar 24 2021

PRAGUE — Czech carmaker Skoda, part of the Volkswagen Group, said on Wednesday it would invest around 2.5 billion euros over the next five years on future technologies, with more than half going to electric vehicle investment. The Czech Republic's largest exporter is hoping for a rebound in 2021 from a global car sales drop but faces uncertainty over the coronavirus pandemic and a semiconductor shortage rattling the industry. "This year is likely to be another big challenge," finance director Klaus-Dieter Schuermann said. "We expect Skoda Auto's group performance to improve, with sales revenue significantly above the level of last year." Skoda reported on Wednesday a 54.5% drop in 2020 operating to 756 million euros ($894 million). Sales revenue dropped 13.8% to 17.1 billion euros. Global deliveries remained above 1 million cars for a seventh straight year despite a 19% drop after production outages at the outset of the pandemic and a fall in China, its biggest single market. Chief Executive Thomas Shaefer said the car company was managing the semiconductor shortage "but it will follow us for awhile" and the impact was not visible yet. Skoda's core market in Europe would be electric in the future, Shaefer said, although it was still not time to completely switch away from traditional models, which include the launch last year of a new generation of its flagship Octavia model. It has also started production of the all-electric Enyaq iV model, which is a version of Volkswagen's ID.4. Skoda plans investments of 1.4 billion euros into electromobility development as part of its five-year investment plan. Investments will also go into digitalization activities and plant modernization. Related video: Green Volkswagen Skoda Electric

Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes also under diesel emissions scrutiny

Sat, Oct 10 2015

The controversy over Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal isn't limited to the US. In Europe, where diesel engines are far more popular, the issue is shining a harsh light on the NEDC emissions test. As already known, the evaluation does a poor job of reflecting real-world production of NOx, and it appears a significant number of automakers are affected. The Guardian in the UK has been reporting on real-world test results from a company called Emissions Analytics. After the latest round of checks, vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi were found to generate far more NOx than they should. The newspaper also published similar results for Renault, Nissan, Hyundai, Fiat, Volvo, Jeep, Citroen, VW, and Audi. On average, the figures are about four times over the limit of producing the pollutant. Unlike VW and its defeat device, these automakers aren't actually breaking the rules. The vehicles perform up to the NEDC lab test for emissions, but those results simply aren't translated to the street. "The VW issue in the US was purely the trigger which threw light on a slightly different problem in the EU - widespread legal over-emissions," Nick Molden from Emissions Analytics said to The Guardian. A big fight to decide the future of this issue appears to be on the horizon. Automakers claim that they can't meet the next round of tightening emissions regulations and are asking for compromises. Although, spokespeople for Mercedes and Honda told The Guardian that the brands would be in favor of the stricter rules. Meanwhile, some European governments began backtracking their support of diesels well before this scandal came to light. The added scrutiny certain hasn't helped the future of the oil-burner.
