2002 Volkswagen Passat W8 Sedan 4.0l 36k Orig Mi. No Reaseve Awd Must Sell! on 2040-cars
Hopatcong, New Jersey, United States
I am selling my friends grandmothers last car. Its an 2002 vw passatt w8. Its 1 owner w8 engine as seen in the design in Bentley. Its 270bhp awd. Its just had cabin air and fuel filer done all new brakes and rotors. It only has 36730 original babied miles, no accidents. This is probably the lowest mileage, cleanest w8 in this country. Its fully loaded like an audi a6 would be front and rear leather, moonroof heated front and memory seats 4 motion. This is the bad ass w8 engine. There are no lights on dash at all and needs no work at. It was bought new in January 2003 with a few hundred miles. Most of its low miles was to nj beach and back. Garaged kept till this past year. Sat in garage from 2009 till 2012 when she sold her house and went into assisted living. Then it was in my buddys driveway for 10 mo and gave me to bring to Life and I did all maintenence needed. The service all fluids replaced the original brakes and rotor were done with quality parts, due to they were rusty and getting thin. Im an ase certified tech went over whole car did the brakes as stated replaced battery gave it top engine flush, changed all filters and put pentotec euro synthetic oil in it. 5w30. I also replaced all four tires the originals were dry rotted and getting worn. I purchased the best parts money can buy, after all it was the first 40,000 dollar vw. It has hid lights that adjust themselves when turned on heated seats cd moonsoon radio and cassette. There is no body damage all books and manuals even original floormats. The wheels r clean body is dent and pretty much scratch free. theres one ding in front of moonroof. The car runs looks and drives new. Im selling no reserve book value priv pty 12500 with these miles and condition, which still is a bargan for what it is. Its fast and smooth the tiptronic works everything still works like new. This one is worth every cent of its kbb, so if u want it before auction ends 12500 i want. Im selling this vw with no reserve so its an auction the high bid wins. this is a awsome rare passatt. the unibody is beefed up for the powerful motor. Plz serious bids listed this car to sell it not play games. I pay money to list this car and you will be purchasing car from me. I have original title in hand. Any Inspections r welcome. Selling as is where is, no worries here it really drives shifts and sounds new. The underneath is rust free and no leaks anywhere. When auction is over call me i like to keep in phone contact with customers, im horrible on computer. Any questions call me 2016028262. Call when auction ends. Please its on ebay for someone to get a good fair deal, bid only what you are willing to pay. If it goes for 9000 and its high bid its yours if it goes for 15000 and u win its yours. Reguardless its a good deal. I feel this will be a future collectable. They are few and far between and finding one senior owned one owner clean carfax no accidents and this low miles is a needle in the haystack so to say. Thanks for looking at my auction and happy bidding!!

Did Lexus make a BMW? Or did BMW make a Lexus? This and other 2017 surprises
Fri, Dec 29 2017It's that time of year again. The calendar is about to reach its end, Star Trek Cats 2018 is about to take its place, and I'm reflecting about all the cars that graced my driveway this year or summoned me to exotic places. You know, like Stuttgart or Phoenix. In 2017, I drove at least 57, and as I perused the list of them, I started to notice a common refrain: "This car surprised me." Most were pleasant surprises, but there were a few head scratchers and facepalms for good measure. In both cases, it was generally the result of car companies seemingly trying to break out of an existing mold. Nowhere was that more apparent than the pair of Lexuses slathered in Infrared paint: The LS 500 that left me this week and the LC 500 that was my favorite car of 2017. Though Lexus has been trying to shake its crusty, gold-packaged reputation for some time now, its efforts always seemed like an old man choosing Hollister to redo his wardrobe after realizing it hasn't been updated since 1987. I fell in love with the LC, genuinely floored by its near-perfect take on the GT. It's characterful in sound, appearance and tactility. It was at home in the city, in the mountain and on the open road. It was both comfortable and thrilling, and after driving the mechanically related LS 500, I can report that the LC's talents aren't an outlier. The LS 500's turbo V6 may make different noises than the LC's naturally aspirated V8, but it nevertheless invigorates the cabin when the car is placed in Sport+ mode. The steering is truly communicative, body motions are kept in miraculous check, and I absolutely forgot I was in an enormous luxury limo ... and a Lexus one at that. It was everything that the BMW 530e was not. I drove that on the exact same roads and was utterly bored the entire time. Generally doughy, lifeless steering, more distant than Planet 9. And no, the plug-in hybrid powertrain had nothing to do with that. At least it shouldn't. The Porsche Panamera S e-Hybrid I also drove this year proves that, as do the Hyundai Ioniqs, which are surprisingly adept and fun little cars regardless of what powers their wheels (Hyundai + hybrid = fun really blew me away). I would drive that Lexus LS F Sport over the BMW 5 Series any day of the week, which seems like a shocking thing to say in relation to either car. While Lexus is seemingly breaking out of its old crusty mold, BMW seems to be climbing into one.
VW, Rivian, Nissan, BMW, Genesis, Audi and Volvo lose EV tax credits starting tomorrow
Mon, Apr 17 2023The U.S. Treasury said Monday that Volkswagen, BMW, Nissan, Rivian, Hyundai and Volvo electric vehicles will lose access to a $7,500 tax credit under new battery sourcing rules. The Treasury said the new requirements effective Tuesday will also cut by half credits for the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Rear Wheel Drive to $3,750 but other Tesla models will retain the full $7,500 credit. Vehicles losing credits Tuesday are the BMW 330e, BMW X5 xDrive45e, Genesis Electrified GV70, Nissan Leaf , Rivian R1S and R1T, Volkswagen ID.4 as well as the plug-in hybrid electric Audi Q5 TFSI e Quattro and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) electric Volvo S60. The Swedish carmaker is 82%-owned by China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. The rules are aimed at weaning the United States off dependence on China for EV battery supply chains and are part of President Joe Biden's effort to make 50% of U.S. new vehicle sales by 2030 EVs or PHEVs. Hyundai said in a statement it was committed to its long-range EV plans and that it "will utilize key provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act to accelerate the transition to electrification." Rivian declined to comment and the other automakers could not immediately be reached for comment. Treasury also disclosed General Motors electric Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV will qualify for the full $7,500 tax credit. GM said earlier it expected at least some of its EVS would qualify for the $7,500 tax credit under the new rules, including the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq and forthcoming Chevrolet Equinox EV SUV and Blazer EV SUV. Treasury said all GM EVs will qualify. Earlier, Ford Motor and Chrysler-parent Stellantis said most of their electric and PHEV models would see tax credits halved to $3,750 on April 18. Treasury confirmed the automakers' calculations. The rules were announced last month and mandated by Congress in August as part of the $430 billion Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The IRA requires 50% of the value of battery components be produced or assembled in North America to qualify for $3,750, and 40% of the value of critical minerals sourced from the United States or a free trade partner for a $3,750 credit. The law required vehicles to be assembled in North America to qualify for any tax credits, which in August eliminated nearly 70% of eligible models and on Jan. 1 new price caps and limits on buyers income took effect.
VW Super Bowl teaser with Jimmy Cliff is like a less-mean Tosh.0 Web Redemption
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Reggae super-duper-star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff has been using music to send positive vibes out into the universe for decades now, so its no surprise that his message on behalf of Volkswagen is one of redemption.
Dubbed Sunny Side, this web-spot is VW's warmup of sorts for what promises to be another blockbuster year in the world of Super Bowl commercials. Without giving away the game, the euphonious commercial sees Cliff opening his arms and his heart to some YouTube 'celebrities' that might see courser treatment from the likes of Tosh.0, for instance. We can't help but be reminded of Coca-Cola's legendary 1971 Hilltop spot with the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" lyric, too.
Enjoy the pre-Super Bowl VW spot below, and don't forget to pay it forward... your karma will thank you. For those of you that just can't get enough of commercial-making magic, we've included a "making-of" video, as well.
