Year:1973 Mileage:155250
Location:

Beautiful  1973 Karmann Ghia Coupe

I purchased the Karmann Ghia in  2005 from a gentlemen here in San Diego . He bought the car in 1997  and stared to restore it but lost interest in it.

The car was bought from the VW dealer in West Hollywood .

When I bought the car was green and repainted Red Scarlet

The car has the original 1600cc dual port engine with electronic ignition and alternator  .

The previous owner had  the rear floor pan replaced .

I coated the floor with POR 15 to prevent from rust and applied sound deadening on  the floor ,the front wall and the engine wall .

The car runs very strong and is very dependable .

It's my daily driver .

Always garaged and never driven in the rain.

 No rust

Starts  on the first kick and runs great!

Everything works except clock & windshield washers

 Heater works well.

German carmakers recall 630,000 diesel vehicles in Europe

Fri, Apr 22 2016

Mercedes, Opel, Porsche, and Volkswagen will recall over 630,000 cars in Europe, according to reports Friday. No diesel car has been able to get under the legal emissions limit in real-world driving, according to a German government investigation. While only Volkswagen Group has been using a specific "defeat device", other carmakers have been playing with their exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Depending of the manufacturer, the systems have been cut off at a certain temperature. In a specific test cycle the systems operate to fulfill the legal requirements, but in everyday use the limits are exceeded. According to the magazine Der Spiegel, the supplier Bosch is behind this programming and has provided it to all German automakers. The mentioned carmakers have announced recalls, but many other manufacturers are also mentioned by name in the report, including Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Nissan, Renault, and Suzuki. PSA Group, which produces Peugeot, Citroen, and DS cars, declared yesterday that its offices were raided following an emissions investigation. Volkswagen Group previews its wares on eve of Geneva show

Mon, 05 Mar 2012

The Volkswagen Group is comprised of 11 brands producing 240 vehicles across 49 factories throughout the world. So the best way to show off the range of the VW family is to cram a few thousand journalists and VIPs into a massive makeshift stand to outline the Group's goals, what's in the pipeline and what you'll be able to buy later this year.
To that end, VW pulled out all the stops on the eve of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, bringing along 10 vehicles from across the range. We'll be delving into the details of each over the next two days of show coverage, but before that happens, you can read all about what we saw tonight from the cheap seats after the break.
