Volkswagen -Karmann Ghia Convertible 1970
Italian designed, German Built, Convertible that was an Icon to a Decade.
This is a wonderful opportunity to own a classic Italian designed German built convertible with the reliability of
Volkswagen.
Ghia Studios in Italy designed the body and it was hand-built by coach builders at Karmann of Germany. It was then
matched up with the award winning and world class engine and mechanicals used on the VW beetle. American Walter
Dorwin Teague included the Karmann Ghia in list of Most Beautiful designed products
History: This was originally a South Carolina car. It found it’s wat to the Car Museum of St Louis. The
current owner had a complete Pre-Purchase Inspection commissioned for the car. It was done by Don R. Hoelscher in
July 2010. Don is a profession Antique, Classic Automobile appraiser and a Judge at many events and competitions.
His report shows that while this is not a Concours level restoration it is a very nicely restoration and one that
can be driven, shown and enjoyed on a regular basis. “ It shows nicely and was fun to drive, it is a real eye
catcher”. It has been housed in North Carolina since.
Since the purchase, the new owner had the seats firmed up with new cushioning and had the upholstery replaced with
genuine leather with a yellow piping that matches the beautiful “Good to Excellent” yellow exterior paint.
The car has been recently serviced with oil change, new fuel filter and carburetor adjustment and starts right up
and drives as it was intended.
Here is a chance to own an exotic looking European car at a fraction of other sports cars from that time and era.
On top of that it is a convertible ready for those spring and summer drives and car shows.

Volkswagen E-Co-Motion Concept brings electric mobility to the commercial set
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Volkswagen sees a future where the bulk of the world's freight is moved into city centers by train, then offloaded onto a fleet of smaller, light-duty commercial vehicles for final delivery. Those vehicles could wind up looking something like the company's E-Co-Motion Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The EV features a modular underfloor drive unit comprised of a battery, motor and gearbox that can be paired with any number of cab and body configurations to suit a buyer's needs, from a refrigerated box to a standard flat bed.
The E-Co-Motion Concept features a rear-mounted electric motor with 113 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. A standard 20 kWh battery pack provides a driving range of up to 62 miles, while 30 kWh and 40 kWh packs could deliver 93 and 124 miles of travel, respectively. Check out the press release below for more information.
