Never involved in any collision.

This vehicle has new tires and new rear rotors and pads put in recently. All maintenance is kept up. Brake fluid has been flushed on schedule, radiator coolant has been flushed also. So it is a READY-TO-GO vehicle.

Just to be upfront, there is a larger patch of scratches on the right of the rear bumper due to scraping against a protrusion of an underground gas pipe. This flaw has been estimated by a local body shop (Advantage Collision 214-435-6938) that it only costs $139.65 to repair. So I have already priced my car at a reasonable range even though the mileage is so much lower than most of other Jettas.

Oil changes have always been with full synthetic Mobil 1 oil since day 1 I own it. Average miles per year for this vehicle is only 10K. Its engine runs smoothly like the first day I bought it. It is equipped with CD changer, sunroof, leather seats. I added 18 inches custom VW Karthoum wheels. This really made the car stands out from the rest of the Jetta 2.5 SE. The tires only had 2000 miles on them. The side mirrors are equipped with signal lights. The interior has Gorilla all weather floor mats in the front. Driver's side has power seat. I am the 2nd owner.

It has the newer design of the metal timing belt meaning that timing belt change is not necessary until above 150,000 miles (regular inspections of the belt condition are still recommended).

VW has put a recall 7yr/100K manufacturer's warranty for AutoTrans Valve Body. I will include the VW paper work in this transaction.

The paint is shiny throughout the car since it is generally washed once a month. A local CarMax dealership and a local body shop owner both have commented that this car is in an excellent shape for a 2008. No oil leaks, smooth running engine. I prefer to sell to local Texas residents since I only accept full payment at the time of delivery. I bought this vehicle with cash. So I possess the title of this vehicle. The title will be handed over at the time when FULL PAYMENT is received. IF CASH IS PAID, IT HAS TO BE VERIFIED IF THE BILLS ARE NOT COUNTERFEITS AT A LOCAL BANK.  PLEASE DO NOT INQUIRE UNLESS YOU LIVE IN TEXAS OR READY TO PAY IN FULL IN ADVANCE. If payment is in cashier's check or personal check form, you will need to wait until the check is cleared by my bank before I submit the title to you. So serious buyers only!!!!

Jalopnik and Consumer Reports see who can pull off the best snow drift

Fri, Feb 20 2015

The weather throughout much of the United States is pretty awful at the moment with some combination of extremely low temperatures, inches of snow and maybe some ice underneath it all. The folks at Jalopnik and Consumer Reports are making the absolute best out of a difficult situation by heading to CR's snow-covered test track and attempting to make the longest drift in a quartet of very different performance vehicles. Jalopnik brought along a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon, a Subaru WRX STI, a BMW 228i and a 1973 Volkswagen Baja Bug (heck yeah!) for the challenge. Also, the track was perfect for this group, with a mix of packed snow in places and still a few inches of unsullied powder in spots too. Ostensibly the goal was to get the tail to step out through a particular corner, but in reality this was more about having hilarious fun in the snow with fast cars. The result just looks like the best time humanly possible in this weather.

Recharge Wrap-up: Volkswagen Sustainability Council meets, Zee.Aero flying car spotted?

Wed, Oct 26 2016

The Volkswagen Sustainability Council held its inaugural meeting in Berlin. Made up of nine international experts, the council will advise VW and take action on its own as it sees fit. In the meeting, the council decided that in 2017 it will focus on tackling CO2 emissions, planning for post-2025 regulations, and assisting the automaker's "transformation from car manufacturer to mobility services provider," as VW Chairman Matthias Muller puts it. Volkswagen has approved 20 million euros (about $21.75 million) in funding for Sustainability Council projects for its first two years. "We are fully aware of the large transformation that lays ahead Volkswagen Group," says George Kell, Sustainability Council Chair and Founding Director of UN Global Compact. "We were invited to be part of this journey and are very much looking forward on being actively involved in the development of this journey." Read more at Green Car Congress, or from Volkswagen. Honda plans to ramp up its share of hybrids sold in the US. In response to increasingly strict emissions standards, the company wants electrified vehicles (including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric, and fuel cell vehicles) to make up two-thirds of Honda and Acura sales in US by 2030. Some analysts are skeptical, though. Christopher Richter of CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets says that dealers are telling Honda they don't want hybrids. "Unless there's a change in what dealers want, I don't think they are going to get there that fast," Richter says. Read more at Automotive News. Witnesses report spotting what could possibly be the Zee.Aero electric aircraft at Hollister Airport in California. Zee.Aero, a startup funded by Google cofounder Larry Page, has a hangar at that airport, where a photo was taken of the aircraft in question. The craft is said to be capable of vertical takeoff and landing and can fit in a one-car garage, earning it the "flying car" moniker. Eyewitness Saul Gomez described the aircraft as "quiet" and "hovering 20, 25 feet off the ground." Read more at Electrek, and watch the interview at Mercury News.
