I am offering for sale a 2010 JSW TDI DSG.
Clean and clear title in hand with MY NAME on it !

We are the 2nd owners and my wife has driven the car since i believe just under 46k miles.
The first was a 74 year old local retired gentleman.

i have personally driven this car to Chicago and back averaging 47MPG doing ~3mph over the speed limit. 42MPG in real world conditions are easily obtainable if you stick to Energy-efficient driving techniques.
My wife does a lot of city driving and naturally refuses to obey any of my instructions on hypermiling and gets an average of around 38MPG.
No repaints, accidents or bodywork of any kind.
Garaged EVERY night and EVERY single day at work.
The car has minor dents, dings and scratches from every day use that happened during previous owners ownership - but rest assured we are the ones ALWAYS parking furthest from the entrance of the grocery store, restaurant or any structure prone to be frequented by the careless masses.

Known as a Mk6 Golf variant on the rest of the planet, but sold as the Jetta Sportwagen here in the US. If you are looking at this listing you must know how coveted these are. I will spare you the plethora of reviews that rant and rave about the superiority of the TDI wagon to any SUV when it comes to fuel economy, utilitarian value, practicality and TCO (total cost of ownership).

The car has following options :
- Platinum gray metallic Exterior Titan Black Interior
- DVD satellite Navigation system ($1800 and worth every penny!)
- Panoramic sunroof ($1300)
- 6-speed DSG transmission ($1100)
- 17" alloy wheels ($450)
- Rear Side Airbags (rare) ($350)
- Sport & Protection Rubber mats, splash guards & trunk liner ($310)
- Media Device Interface for ipod ($200)

all in it cost $30,559 plus tax delivered at Byers Imports in Columbus, OH.

All maintenance done at local VW and Audi dealerships Byers and Hatfield, all paperwork incl. windowsticker comes with the car. After free maintenance (until 36k miles) always serviced by Jon Hamilton, a TDI-club trusted mechanic and world record holder on Pikes Peak in a 2000 Golf TDI, starting with the 40k DSG service.

2-17-2014 complete timing belt service: replaced timing belt, timing belt cover, timing belt tensioner, small top roller, small lower roller, large upper roller, water pump, serpentine belt and coolant - while the car was out of commission for a few days I went ahead and had a RocketChip Stage 1+ tune done ($1653.57)
12-2-13 60k service incl. brake fluid replacement ($224.70)
(all OE parts used, german Pentosin Super Dot 4 brake fluid, etc. etc.)
11-12-2013 all tires were replaced with Continental Extreme Contact DWS All Season tires incl. discount tire free replacement certificates (works at every discount tire in the US, $701).
5-21-2013 DSG (fluid and filter) and 50k miles service ($416.33)

please contact me with any serious questions.

2010 JSW TDI DSG

I also have a current carfax report if you are interested.
this pic shows every tool i own in the back of the trunk.
I ran out of tools before i ran out of space ;-)

I will arrange PPIs at buyers expense (and reserve the right to refuse shops that i deem not trustworthy with my cars)
and would be more than happy to accommodate a fly & drive.
Closest airport to me is CMH (Port Columbus International Airport).
My last TDI (an ALH) with almost 200k miles went to a very happy and satisfied buyer in Texas who flew in and drove
it back (never having driven a manual car before) and averaged 56mpg all the way back ;-)

in case you are wondering about the timing belt replacement - this was due to a roller bearing failure.
as a result :
- outer shell "ate" a perfect hole through the timing belt cover
- something started cutting into the timing belt
- all the balls from the bearing ended up in the bottom half of the timing belt cover
HOWEVER no tooth was skipped, belt did not tear and no further damage -
but boy what a PITA having to do the timing belt 4k miles after warranty ran out.
Good news for you - the biggest maintenance item has been done.
I have full documentation of the repair and the parts used and have pics of the parts in question.
Especially the belt that is not torn will prove that there was no further damage.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept still makes us swoon

Fri, Nov 21 2014

We know, we know – this hot little guy isn't really new or anything. Volkswagen first rolled out the Golf R 400 concept in Beijing earlier this year, and since its debut, we've heard rumors that the German automaker might-perhaps-maybe-hopefully build the thing. Its showing here in Los Angeles simply marks the first time it's debuting in America, and honestly, we can't get enough. So here it is, again. Hello, Golf R 400 – we love you. And what's not to love? What starts as a normal Golf R gets better with a more aggressive appearance, big wheels, some tasteful neon yellow accents, and a whole mess of power. The original concept packed 395 horsepower from an overblown 2.0-liter turbo-four, though the most recent reports suggest a production version could produce over 400 hp. To keep it all in line, the concept has all-wheel drive. And inside, it's the same functional, comfortable Golf we've always loved. There's nothing left to say, really. We love this car, and you should, too. Check it out in the gallery above.
