2004 Volkswagen Jetta Gls Sedan 4-door 1.8l Turbo on 2040-cars
Columbia, South Carolina, United States
I am re-listing this auction due to non payment. The high bidder never showed or paid. Please, bid to own. You are looking at a great little car! 2004 VW Jetta GLS Turbo Sedan with manual transmission. It is very reliable, responsive, and fun to drive. This has been my daily transportation for almost 2 years. It has never let me down. I am the 2nd owner. The first owner meticulously maintained this car.I have only put about 10,000 miles on it. I hate to sell it but I needed a truck for my business.
This car still looks great for being 10 years old. It's loaded with options. It has a few dings and scuffs, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 10 year old car. Looking at it and driving it would make you think it has less than 100k. it is tight and doesn't drive like 170k. Props to the 1st owner for great up keep and service.clean and clear title. Original paint, No accidents, car fax certified. I will list the obvious flaws so that out of state bidders feel comfortable bidding without seeing and driving it. drivers side mirror operates normal, but had a broken piece of plastic at some point in its life. It has a piece of tape on it and has been their since I bought it. periodically the check engine light comes on. it does not affect the driveablility. Its usually something silly like a loose gas cap and it goes away next fill up. There are a couple of imperfections on the leather of the drivers seat only. One tear right on the seam and minor aging and wrinkling. missing 1 center cap on ally wheel. less than 10 bucks. I have tried to describe the car as well as I can, I don't think anyone will be disappointed at its condition. I photographed many of its imperfections so you could see. I just put brand new tires on. There is less than a thousand miles on them. Over $500 right there. I wasn't intending to sell it, so I had a set put on a couple of months ago. It also has a brand new windshield because of a rock chip that spread. I replaced it instead of having it repaired. I need to sell right away so please act quickly. I am marketing the car locally for 4500 but I am putting on Ebay with No Reserve to make sure it is sold quickly. Thanks for your interest and good luck bidding. |

2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
Thu, Jan 29 2015Volkswagen calls its 2015 Jetta "refined, redesigned," and countless man-hours have gone into its re-engineering, but you'd need to crawl all over the car, unbolt most of the body, drive it or spend some time on VW's website to fathom the changes. That's why we wrote, "2015 Volkswagen Jetta is new, we promise," when we first saw the car in New York last April. While we wait for a sweeping next-generation overhaul to come, the marquee elements for now are the new structure underneath designed to win an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating, fuel economy increases and a heavily reworked 2.0 TDI diesel engine. Plus, there's ornamental detailing around the body and updated interior, and the revamped trim package and accessories matrix promises to provide more value. That makes it a better buy than the 2014 model, assuming it can find buyers ready to appreciate the subtleties. Outside, improved aerodynamic prowess is the primary goal, and almost all of the visual refresh works to further that aim. A new grille with three cross fins sits atop a slipperier bumper and air intakes. On models with the 1.8T gas engine and new 2.0 TDI diesel, the grille is fitted with a shutter to decrease drag and, on the diesel, speed up the engine warming. There are sleeker rain gutters inside the A-pillars and paneling under the body by the rear axles. Attending to airflow in back is an altered decklid reshaped with an integrated spoiler. Among the other changes are optional adaptive bi-Xenon headlights lined with 15 LED running lights and a chrome strip of brightwork. New fog lights are set in the flanks of the lower lip, and LED taillights can be had on the GLI and Hybrid models, with a tweaked VW logo sitting in between. The illuminating upgrades continue inside with ambient lighting and a crisper dash cluster display. Those cabin changes are joined by an optional "tunnel" theme for the gauges, a new steering wheel design with piano black accents and chrome, redesigned vent controls and new fabric options. Changes to the front substructure from the bumper to the front doors, and strengthened A-pillars combined to win the 2015 sedan a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. We're here to focus on the diesel model, and the updated EA288 2.0 TDI engine and its modular packaging is the most visceral highlight for 2015, inserting new numbers on every line of the spec sheet compared to its predecessor, save for cylinder bore spacing.
Volkswagen reveals Beetle GSR, R-Line convertible and two special GTIs
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Volkswagen has chosen to really expand its performance-tuned portfolio at this year's Chicago Auto Show, bringing along a couple of new Beetles destined for model year 2014, as well as a pair of freshened GTI packages that you'll be able to buy almost right away.
The first, and splashiest of the Chicago goodies on the VW stand has got to be the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR. Don't lose your temper, Acura Integra geeks; in this case, GSR stands for "Gelb Schwarzer Renner" or "Yellow Black Racer," and harkens back to a sport-tuned classic Beetle from the 1970s. For the 2014 iteration, the GSR gets a 210-horsepower version of VW's 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder. That engine is enough to push the Beetle to 60 miles per hour in 6.6 seconds, and up to a top speed of 130 mph.
Of course, you'll have long-since noticed the shockingly yellow-and-black livery before you stumble across the Turbo badge on the rear deck. The GSR gets 19-inch alloy wheels, 235-section tires and a tea-tray rear spoiler, but it's the paint and graphics package that will decide if this is your (lemony) cup of tea. Things don't get any subtler inside the car, either, as VW has carried the colorway through to the interior, as well. Only 3,500 Beetle GSRs will be produced, with just more than half of those going to the US - call your dealer today, Wiz Khalifa.
North American production of foreign marques to jump in 2014
Sun, 23 Dec 2012Wards Auto has released its North American Light Vehicle Production Forecast for 2014, and the report predicts foreign manufacturers will increase production on the continent some 3.9 percent by 2014. If accurate, that should see 123,000 additional cars, trucks and vans produced in North America, swelling the total number of units produced both by domestic and foreign manufacturers to 16.9 million light vehicles from a projected 15.6 million in 2013. Much of the increase can be attributed to the fact that Toyota intends to produce another car at its Blue Springs, MS plant as well as a new Lexus model at its Georgetown, KY facility in a year's time.
Likewise, Volkswagen intends to move production of a currently imported model to its plant in Puebla, Mexico. Daimler, Honda, Nissan and Mazda also plan to build additional models on North American soil for the first time. Around two-thirds of the new North American manufacturing will take place in Mexico, helping the country soak up a full 20 percent of the content's automotive production for the first time. You can head over to the Wards Auto site for the full report.
