I recently bought this car for my girlfriend but she refuses to learn how to drive stick. It is a meticulously maintained TDI. you would think this was a 50k mile car. paint is almost flawless except for a few small stone chips. Fully loaded GLS with heated seats, sunroof, power locks, power windows, optional three point steering wheel, and factory vw mudflaps, all three factory keys. Winning bidder will not be disappointed!!!!! EBAY NOT RECOGNIZING VIN SINCE 1999.5 MODEL YEAR BUT CARFAX DOES. HAVE CARFAX REPORT. VIN: 3VWSF29MXX1072952.
Interior: 7/10The interior is in near perfect shape only showing minimal wear on the arm rest and drivers door handle. the seats are all in ok shape, just some minimal wear/leather cracks on driver side bolster but no tears. The rear seats show little wear on the back side but otherwise are perfect. the radio has seen better days and could use being replaced. it looses memory and you occasionally have to enter the code. I was planning on replacing this when i bought it for her but since she wont attempt to drive stick now i am not. the driver side armrest handle isn't perfect and shows minimal wear but everything won it works. The center armrest has your typical mk4 VW broken latch for the center console. the headliner shows minimal wear but has very little sagging(rare). the heated seats work great and get warm quick. surprisingly the glove box latch is intact and works great(typically broken on mk4 vw's). the three spoke steering wheel in in really good shape. previous owner must have has a steering wheel cover on it most of its life.
Exterior: 8/10 The exterior is in amazing shape. Its super clean cosmic green metalic. The car was in a minor accident last year with previous owner and airbags did not deploy just replaced the fender and bumper(if winning bidder isn't happy with body work they are not obligated to buy. They did an amazing job i couldn't even tell). It has a few small stone chips on the front and a small scuff on the front bumper which is minimal. one of the wheels has a center cap which is slightly different shade then the others. previous owner lost a center cap and replaced it(passengerside rear in photo). The tires will pass inspection but probably only have 10k miles left. It has the optional VW mudflaps which is super rare. i was really impressed with this. The headlights have minimal fading. The mirrors have paint fade and i believe one has been replaced. The sunroof works great! The car has no rust and was meticulously washed and maintained.
Mechanically: Mechanically this car is amazing. Maintenance records for everything from oil changes to tire rotations to timing belt history to state inspections. Anything you wanna know just look and its in there. even window sticker. The last timing belt was done at 330k and has had recent ac condenser, alternator, clutch, oil cooler gasket, fuel filter and battery. It has your typical 99 VW MK4 sloppy shifter and delay crank start. it also has a small exhaust leak which is barely noticeable.
Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks For looking.

Audi CEO's Dieselgate arrest threatens fragile truce among VW stakeholders
Tue, Jun 19 2018FRANKFURT — The arrest and detention of Audi's chief executive forces Volkswagen Group's competing stakeholders to renegotiate the delicate balance of power that has helped keep Audi CEO Rupert Stadler in office. Volkswagen's directors are discussing how to run Audi, its most profitable division, following the arrest of the brand's long-time boss on Monday as part of Germany's investigations into the carmaker's emissions cheating scandal. The supervisory board of Audi, meanwhile, has suspended Stadler and appointed Dutchman Bram Schot as an interim replacement, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. Schot joined the Volkswagen Group in 2011 after having worked as president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Italia. He has been Audi's board member for sales and marketing since last September. The discussions risk reigniting tensions among VW's controlling Piech and Porsche families, its powerful labor representatives and its home region of Lower Saxony. VW has insisted the development of illegal software, also known as "defeat devices," installed in millions of cars was the work of low-level employees, and that no management board members were involved. U.S. prosecutors have challenged this by indicting VW's former chief executive Martin Winterkorn. Stadler's arrest raises further questions. Audi and VW said on Monday that Stadler was presumed innocent unless proved otherwise. Munich prosecutors detained Stadler to prevent him from obstructing a probe into Audi's emissions cheating, they said on Monday. Stadler is being investigated for suspected fraud and false advertising. Here are the main factors deciding the fate of Audi. Background: Audi's role in Dieselgate Volkswagen Group was plunged into crisis in 2015 after U.S. regulators found Europe's biggest carmaker had equipped cars with software to cheat emissions tests on diesel engines. The technique of using software to detect a pollution test procedure, and to increase the effectiveness of emissions filters to mask pollution levels only during tests, was first developed at Audi. "In designing the defeat device, VW engineers borrowed the original concept of the dual-mode, emissions cycle-beating software from Audi," VW said in its plea agreement with U.S. authorities in January 2017, in which the company agreed to pay a $4.3 billion fine to reach a settlement with U.S. regulators.
Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe is a green fun-machine we want to drive
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Think back to January's Detroit Auto Show. Those of you that are fans of the Volkswagen brand, impressed with green technology or simply fall into the "diesel geek" category, will almost certainly remember VW's CrossBlue concept with its diesel/electric hybrid powertrain, seating for seven, and somewhat awkward crossover styling. It was an impressive piece of future tech, to be sure, though it left something to be desired in the, well, desirability department.
Here in Shanghai, VW has brought along a CrossBlue Coupe concept that would seem to include most of the goodness of the original, but flavored with more sport and style this time around.
The CrossBlue Coupe makes use of the same electric drive components as the larger three-row concept: two electric motors (front and rear) powered by a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. However, where the original concept made use of a TDI four-cylinder, the Coupe substitutes a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6.
VW admits 430,000 2016 models have implausible CO2 ratings
Mon, Nov 16 2015Volkswagen finally explained more details about its CO2 rating scandal in Europe and admitted that 430,046 of the estimated 800,000 affected vehicles with "implausible" figures came from the 2016 model year. They included some from Audi, Seat, Skoda, VW, and VW Commercial Vehicles, according to the automaker's list (as a PDF). The problem mostly impacts diesel engines, but the inventory also shows some gasoline mills. VW will next determine the accurate CO2 emissions for these vehicles, and the German Federal Vehicle and Transport Authority will supervise that process to ensure the data's veracity. The automaker will also launch websites in Europe to let owners enter their model's VIN to check whether it's affected. Because governments there often link vehicle taxes and CO2 production, the company promises to work with regulators in each country to cover any fees that result from the inaccurate figures. VW announced the CO2 scandal earlier in November and estimated the equivalent of $2.2 billion to fix it at the time. A later report claimed that a group of engineers were responsible for fabricating the emissions data. They allegedly couldn't meet reduction goals from Martin Winterkorn, and between 2013 and this spring the workers did things like overinflate the tires during testing to achieve the desired results. VW is also closer to a fix in the diesel emissions scandal. According to an anonymous insider to Bloomberg, the company has a repair for the 1.6-liter engine that's reportedly neither very complex nor expensive. German regulators would still need to approve the solution before it could roll out to owners. Next step in clarifying the CO2 issue Affected Volkswagen Group models of the current model year have been identified Customers being informed via website Discussions with the authorities have begun The Volkswagen Group reports that the vehicles of the 2016 model year affected by the CO2 issue have been identified. There is thus now clarity about the new vehicles of the current model year out in the marketplace. On 3 November 2015, the Group had already reported that irregularities may have arisen in determining the CO2 figures for type approval of around 800,000 vehicles. This was identified during its own currently ongoing investigations and had been made public. The internal investigations into the current vehicles of the 2016 model year provide results for narrowing down the actually affected vehicles with implausible CO2 figures.
