I owned this car for 10+ years and loved it. stored most of its' life indoors. Tinted windows with Johnson window film (lifetime guarantee) i think it's 45% smoke grey. driver rear droor upper 1/2 was repainted many years before I purchased and tends to fade unless buffed out. I repainted the back 1/2 of the trunk lid years ago, it too needs buffed out. the interior was removed years ago due to a blown heater core and a leaking door seal. I just can't care for it as it needs, I have way too many projects and not enough cash to finish all.y loss is your gain. FACTORY BLACK PAINT SHINES LIKE NEW when polished out. minor stone chips and two tiny scratches. no major dents or dings. I have this car listed many other places and reserve the right to cancel at any time, if I do I will give highest bidder notice and 1st opportunity to match other offers. I want this car to go to a good home with someone who will use it to its' potential. ask questions prior to bidding and I cannot ship this car unless you arrange it with me first. the interior and exterior parts are available if you wish to have them. I will include a Rad support freshly powder coated black, two headlights the correct factory hood (inside garage for protection) local pick up offered. the factory interior is the Recaro style OEM  black and silver with matching door panels which I would like to keep. I have plenty of other cars it will fit. No returns, winning bidder pays cash upon pick-up or PayPal 1/2 down 1/2 when picked-up. Dash included and possibly a console and carpet if I can locate nice pieces. good luck...low initial bid, low reserve and low buy it now. Time to sell is now!

Thursday 3/20 I added two pictures that were taken at the time of purchase March 2004 of the UNMOLESTED factory original 1987 Jetta GLI 8v 1.8L car, for the non believers' The factory trim package consists of Fender flares, 4 Wheel disc brakes, Red stripe mouldings and YES THE GLI BADGING ON THE REAR. This car was adult owned, I purchased from the original owner who was NOT a car guy, a family man who only drove this car. He maintained the car a dealers and garages who specialize in VW's therefore he did NOT modify or ADD anything. The picture of the car in the snow is ONE WEEK LATER in 2004. it was so clean when it was parked in front of the shop MANY customers asked who painted it and I always had the same reply. Volkswagen. original paint polished out to a VERY SHINY GLOSS BLACK the picture of the car at the barn was the summer of 2004 showing just how shiny the paint is when polised

To clear up some confusion out there...I've added 3 new pics to the end. One shows B pillar decal model year 8/86. One shows TRUNK decal showing ENGINE ID "RD". One shows the Bently publishers page noting engine code to model; Jetta GLI

Wednesday I added a front clip to the deal. (wheels on clip not available) 1986 Running VW Golf 1.8l 8v with dash and 5 speed trans. Use this car clip for parts or re-sell it. both cars are CIS injection if you "BUY IT NOW" i will include the interior. It seems some viewers can't understand a car can be sold without interior, i just don't have the time to complete it. If i did the car would be twice as much money. You do the math! You MUST inspect the car prior to purchasing, believe it or not i'm not in the business of selling and retuning items for fun, as some might think.

VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt

Sun, 08 Sep 2013

Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.

VW midsize crossover production headed for Chattanooga

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

Potential labor woes aside, it looks like Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN factory must have done something that impressed the bosses in Germany, because it sounds like the three-year-old factory is set to score a second model.
The factory currently builds the Passat, and has been in the running alongside VW's Puebla, Mexico factory to build a new crossover vehicle, likely based on the CrossBlue Concept. According to Bloomberg, a pair of unnamed sources have confirmed that Chattanooga is the favorite ahead of an official announcement.
When last we heard about the CrossBlue Concept, word was that a production decision had been delayed over concerns about the three-row CUV's business case. That August 2013 story claimed that a decision regarding the CrossBlue would be pushed back until early in 2014, which means we're ripe for some sort of news, whether good or bad.

Volkswagen tipped to launch turbocharged Up! with 100 hp

Tue, Jan 6 2015

Overseas customers enticed by the compact dimensions of the Volkswagen Up! but turned off by its diminutive 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine may be encouraged by reports that the German automaker is planning a more potent turbo version. Previewed by the GT Up! concept showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show (pictured above), the more performance-oriented model is expected to pack the turbo three from the larger Polo, where it produces 100 horsepower channeled through a five-speed manual transmission. That may not seem like much, but it would put the existing 59- and 74-horsepower versions of the German city car to shame. That might not give it enough punch to keep pace with the upcoming Smart Fortwo Brabus (and its Renaultsport Twingo counterpart), tipped to pack as much as 130 hp, but it could stand to out-perform the existing 89-hp turbo models of both. Given that the reports are emanating from Brazil, however, it is possible that the Up! Turbo (or whatever it's ultimately called) would be limited to the South American market, if it's built at all. One thing's for sure, though: it's not likely to make it to North American showrooms anytime soon.
