This 2002 Jetta TDI is in amazingly good condition for a 12 year old car; this does not come as a surprise to anybody who has ever owned a TDI; they just seem to last forever, and given the factory recommended maintenance 600,000 + kms is not unusual!

I had a local Import Specialist go over the car with a fine tooth comb and replace any part, that in his opinion was questionable, as well as service any system that needed to be serviced. As a result of this request I had to hand the man a large sum of cash, in exchange for the knowledge that I am now offering a remarkably nice TDI to the next owner, at a price that truly reflects the value of these cars. I am selling the car fully CERTIFIED and EMISSION TESTED. I have set a VERY REASONABLE reserve price - please do not ask how much the reserve is - and I am prepared to deliver the car within 50 kms of Milton free of charge. I can deliver to any address in Canada for a fee that would have to be negotiated BEFORE delivery.

This Jetta TDI is very nicely equipped with the following options: Power Sunroof, Keyless entry, Power door locks, Power windows, Power mirrors, A/C, AM/FM/CD in-dash unit, Aluminum wheels, Power trunk release, Cruise control, Automatic transmission, Alarm system, Factory rubber mats.

Below is a list of parts that were installed within the last 3 months:Rear brake pads and rotors, right rear shock absorber, both rear shock mounts, both rear rubber stops, both rear caliper carrier bolts, glow plug harness, complete front brake service - no parts required - front wiper blades, right front lower ball joint, oil, lube and filter (full synthetic), air filter, fuel filter, cabin air filter.

This is a private sale and I will accept CASH, PAYPAL, E-TRANSFER or BANK DRAFT. If paid by personal cheque I will keep the car until my bank confirms the funds in my account.

GOOD LUCK BIDDING ON THIS GREAT SAMPLE OF GERMAN ENGINEERING!

I had my mechanic check the A/C on the car yesterday and got the confirmation that it is in perfect working order and blowing "ice cold".

As a special incentive I am including an Original VW CD changer - 6 discs - and the required OEM radio at no extra cost if the car sells at the asking price ( reserve price ).

Tanner Foust checks out his new VW Beetle GRC rally car

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

Racing driver and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is a very busy guy. After all, he's competing in rounds of both Global Rallycross series and FIA World Rallycross Championship, not to mention his TV duties. However, we probably shouldn't feel too sorry for him, because his job puts him behind the wheel of some truly crazy machinery.
Case in point is his latest ride in Global Rallycross - the Volkswagen Beetle GRC. The German company claims that this all-wheel drive Bug makes around 540 horsepower from its 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and can shoot to 60 in under 2 seconds. Plus, if this video is any indication, this Volkswagen sounds like a machine gun when throwing revs at idle, and it can do some wonderfully easy four-wheel drifts.
Previously, Foust was driving a VW Polo for Andretti Autosport in GRC, but the team unveiled the look of the Beetle GRC at the Chicago Auto Show. Now, Foust is finally getting to show off his new office to the public, and like VW's tagline for the new car claims, it's way hotter than Herbie.

Small 3-row crossover SUVs specifications compared on paper

Thu, May 10 2018

There's no shortage of three-row vehicles on the market for carrying seven or more people and their stuff wherever they all need to go. Just about every car company has at least one large crossover or traditional SUV with three rows of seats, and there are still plenty of minivans to pick from. But most of these vehicles are large, pricey, and frequently thirsty. Fortunately, there are still a handful of smaller crossovers that deliver 7-passenger capability in a smaller, cheaper package. We've gathered four of the small three-row set here to compare them based on space, power, fuel economy, pricing, and more. They include the very old Dodge Journey, the slightly less old Mitsubishi Outlander and Kia Sorento, and the relatively new Volkswagen Tiguan. You can see the raw numbers in the chart below, followed by a more detailed breakdown and some notes on how we like each of these vehicles. For in-depth opinions on the vehicles, be sure to check out our full reviews, and if you want to compare these with other vehicles, try out our comparison tools. Engines, transmissions and performance Interestingly, three of the four crossovers here utilize similar engines for their four-cylinder offerings. The Dodge, Kia and Mitsubishi all feature naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Only the Volkswagen Tiguan chooses turbocharging and a smaller 2.0-liter displacement. But because of its turbocharger, the Tiguan's four-cylinder is easily the most potent, making a healthy 221 pound-feet of torque, which is more than 40 more than the Sorento, the crossover with the next most torque. The VW is also second-most powerful, just one horse behind the Sorento. The Outlander is the least powerful in the four-cylinder class. The Journey is only barely better, but it will probably feel as slow or worse thanks to its ancient 4-speed automatic. The four-cylinder Sorento and Outlander each have 6-speed automatic transmissions, and the VW has an 8-speed. The Sorento with a V6 has an 8-speed, too. View 17 Photos Moving up to the V6 class, the Outlander is once again at the bottom. It actually makes less torque than the turbo VW Tiguan. The Journey and Sorento are almost perfectly matched. The Journey makes a bit more torque; the Sorento makes a bit more power. The Journey also gets upgraded to a 6-speed automatic. Another powertrain consideration to bare in mind is whether all-wheel-drive is necessary.

2015 VW Golf R caught getting a flogging on 'Ring

Wed, 22 May 2013

The upcoming version of the Volkswagen Golf R is nearly ready for prime time, if this video of the car flying around the Nürburgring is any indication. The all-wheel-drive R seems to make quick, neat work of the corners we see here, and sounds pretty devilish in the process.
Expectations are that the new Golf R will run a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (what else?), tuned to produce even more than the current car's 256 horsepower. (Some sources have indicated outputs as high as 286 horsepower, with 280 pound-feet of torque. It's still not clear if Volkswagen will bring the six-speed dual-clutch transmission to the US-spec Golf R in this next go-round or if we'll stick to having only... eh... the stick.
In either case - watching the video below will only whet your appetite for the new, highest performing member of the Golf family.
