Welcome!!You are viewing my GORGEOUS 2006 Volkswagen Golf GLS Model, with the 2.0 Liter engine along with a Manual Transmission. This is the last year of the MKIV Golf Body Style. It was only produced the first few months/half the year of 2006. They kept this model Golf an extra year, since it was such a wanted body style. As oppose to the Jetta, which changed its body style, in 2005.5, second half of year. The car has a low mileage of only 89k Original Factory miles.Expected mileage for this year is about 120k to about 150k miles. 89k Miles is very low for this 2.0 Volkswagen Engine. Which was the BEST BY FAR, engine that Volkswagen made. You can ask around. These engines last over 250k miles without hesitation, as long as they are maintained right. As oppose to the 1.8 Turbo Engine that blows turbos all the time and the engine itself. As well as the 2.8 VR6, is not as durable as this 2.0 Liter Engine. The transmission is manual. So you dont have to worry about the transmission not shifting, like you do with automatic transmissions. First thing on the volkswagens that break are transmissions. Ask around, NOT THIS ONE. Since its a Manual. Now it will last as long as the engine, which should be over 200k miles. This is an ORIGINAL ONE OWNER CAR. It belonged to a friend of the family. He purchased the car brand new from the dealership in Connecticut back in 2006. He purposely chose this model over the the newer MKV which was the uglier model. The price was almost $30K!!!! I have all the documents, when purchased new. He had no use for it anymore. And Im an avid collector of older clean Volkswagens and german cars. I just serviced the car the past week. THE PAST WEEK, so about 50 miles have been driven, since I did all the work. I put a new Flex Pipe, for the exhaust system. As well as brand new rear struts. I put Brand New Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wires, Ignition Coil, Air Filter, etc...COMPLETE Tune-up. As well as the TIMING BELT/WATER PUMP, TIMING BELT TENSIONER, COMPLETE KIT, I have installed. My friend down the road owns a german mechanic shop. He did all the service work for me. I have all the proof, in the pictures. He owed me a favor. So the total job would have costed you over $3000 easily from Volkswagen. ANOTHER GUARANTEE, is that I saved the old Parts. As you see in one of the pictures. I also kept the old parts, to further show my validity of servicing the car the way I said. The brakes and tires were serviced a year or so back, with minimal mileage driven. So they were fine.I had all the fluids checked, which were all fine. I have maintainance records going back years, between most oil changes/brakes/tires. One couldn't ask for anything more. THIS IS THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!Very hard to find the older body style, with such low mileage, such pampered care...as well as CLEAN CARFAX, NEVER IN ANY ACCIDENT EVER!!!!PRICE IS $7950 and NON NEGOTIABLE. Please dont email or call and ask "Would I take this $$$$ or Whats the best Price"or Etc......Please respect. This is for someone who appreciates a great clean Volkswagen Golf. I can ship to Most areas of the East Coast for about $500, and Mid West and Central, will range around $1000 and West Coast, about $1200 to $1300. I can help with the shipping. And you wont have to worry about it. Otherwise pick up is fine, but make sure you have $7950 on you and ready. If not pre-arranged. I will only accept Cash or Postal Money Orders. Unless your Bank is the same as my bank which is TD BANK. CALL 516-996-5252 7 DAYS A WEEK. PLEASE SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY, PLEASE DONT EMAIL LONG LISTS OF QUESTIONS THAT WILL GO UNANSWERED. If your a serious buyer, who has the funds, and wants a great car, Call me, and I will make it happen, and have the car delivered to your door. No FINANCING OF ANY SORT. NO TRADES EITHER.

Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures

Tue, Jun 23 2020

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski  Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.

Bentley considering diesel engine for new SUV

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Turns out, in case you didn't know, the rich are just like regular people. They too are concerned about the environment, even when tooling around town in their super-luxurious Bentleys. So the automaker is weighing the idea of offering a diesel engine in its SUV offering, which could help satisfy customers' demands for more fuel-efficient engines.
Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Schreiber told Autoblog in a roundtable interview at the Geneva Auto Show that the automaker is researching whether or not a diesel engine makes sense for the brand. Bentley, owned by the Volkswagen Group, could in theory use a diesel engine from anywhere in the Volkswagen Group family. We at Autoblog have hopes they'll revive the V10 TDI used in the VW Touareg until 2010, but ever-stricter emissions laws would likely make that problematic.
But rich people aren't so much like us that they'll be worried about petty things like pricing. Schreiber admitted the diesel engine could be a $15,000 option, which he said customers would probably find "acceptable." Given that the cheapest Bentley today starts at $177,000, typical customers probably won't be diddling around worrying about an extra 15 grand.
