The interior is beautiful as well. It has excellent upholstery, carpet, dashboard and door panels with no cracks, rips or tears or any significant signs of wear. The car doesn‘t have any smokers smell. In fact, it’s not even equipped with a lighter. The cargo area looks like it was hardly ever used and the engine compartment has been fully detailed and is clean enough to eat off of. Mechanically it runs and drives excellent. The engine and transmission pulls strong and yet feels silky smooth both at idle, while accelerating and throughout the cruising range. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes are firm with no pedal pulsations or pulling to one side when stopping and the suspension is tight. The A/C blows ice cold. It has a matching set of four ultra high performance Pirelli PZero Nero tires size P225/40ZR18 with good tread all around. I would say they have between a little more than half to a little less than half their tread left. These tires have an ultra high performance tread design combined with a silica-enhanced tread compound for exceptional all-season wet/dry traction, excellent handling and a comfortable ride. They have been balanced with coated stick-on balance weights mounted on the inside of the wheel for a super clean look. These weights won’t corrode and turn ugly like cheap uncoated weights. The spare tire and jack doesn’t look like they have ever been used. The car has been fully checked out and serviced with over $2,800 worth of new or recent parts, maintenance and repairs with original Volkswagen or other name brand parts so that only your enjoyment rather than your immediate attention will be required on delivery. Some of the items checked or serviced include:

2010 is the first year of the new redesigned bodystyle MK6 GTI and is the best value since it’s nearly identical to a new 2013 model you can buy at a VW dealer, but being three model years old, the majority of the depreciation has been absorbed by the previous owner, yet the car still looks and runs like new. Since the ’10 GTI was the first year of the new bodystyle, it’s the oldest, and thus, the least expensive model MK6 you can buy. What that means is you can own a car with the looks, style and prestige of a brand new GTI for a fraction of the cost. In fact, because of the above average mileage, this GTI may be the cheapest one you will find until a few years of depreciation have reduced the prices of other GTIs to the level of this one. It could be a while before that happens, so if you’ve always wanted a MK6 GTI but thought you didn’t quite have enough funds to purchase one, this car may just have your name on it. In other words, it’s going to take a year or two before the lower mileage 2010 GTIs that are advertised now for $18,000 to $22,000 depreciate down to the price of this GTI. So why wait that long? In a year or two their prices will be the same as this one is right now anyway, so you might as well own and enjoy it now! In fact, the price of this MK6 GTI is less than what some previous generation MKV models are selling for! Another thing to remember if you have been looking at cars in the 40-80,000 mile range is they wont have all the servicing this one has had. Items like valve cleaning, fuel injector cleaning, spark plugs, etc. that this car has had will be required on a 60,000 mile car sooner or later. This car runs as well as a 10,000 mile car because of all the mentioned work done, while a 60,000 mile car will run like a 60,000 mile car and soon will need all the servicing my car has already had. The cost new of this GTI was nearly $28,000! CLICK HERE to see the original pricing. But because it was a hot new model, most dealers were adding additional market adjustment markups (read rip off), so with tax, title and tags, you were lucky if you got ANY change back from your $30,000 bill! The NADA Blue Book value for the car even with the higher mileage is almost $18,000. CLICK HERE to see the Blue Book. I have the Buy It Now Price nearly $3,000 below that. This is a one owner southern car from Maryland which is probably why it’s so clean. CLICK HERE to see the title, and it has a clean Carfax. CLICK HERE to see the Carfax report I ran after buying it. The car comes with two remote keys and the wheel lock key:
All the books and manuals:
And a set of paint touchup pens:
If you are serious about buying a MK6 GTI in general, and a 2-door DSG® model specifically, this is about as low as they go because of the higher mileage. Remember, you can get a great deal on Ebay with prices sometimes way below retail, but no bidder is going to “steal” a vehicle and no seller is going to give one away either. Also when comparing prices, remember the things that you won’t have to spend money on soon after getting it home. With this car you won’t have to spend $800 for a new set of tires, you won’t have to spend $800 on a valve cleaning service, you won’t have to spend $400 on a complete front brake service, you won’t have to spend $300 on a complete rear brake service and you won’t have to spend $300 on a tune-up and filters service. With many of the other listings on Ebay, you’re lucky if they even check the oil before delivery. Also, when comparing this GTI to the others listed, check if they come with both remote keys because a new one from the dealer, with programming, is going to cost you $250. And if you lost that only key, it’ll cost three times as much to replace the security module. While most dealers just buy a car to flip in a week or two, I bought this car at a dealer auction more than a year ago to use as one of my personal drivers which is why I serviced it top to bottom. And I’m also passing on the savings in this Ebay auction. If instead of selling it back at a dealer auction I can sell it here on Ebay for a similar price and avoid dealer auction fees and transportation expenses, and the new owner gets the car at a true wholesale price, then both buyer and seller make out ahead. So there is no point in making lowball $12,000 or $13,000 offers. If you are looking for an all original MK6 GTI in beautiful condition at a low price, then this car is hard to beat. It’s the lowest priced MK6 GTI under 100,000 miles on Ebay in terms of the Buy It Now price or classified ad price, (excluding salvage or damaged cars of course), and that doesn’t even take into account the extensive servicing the car has had. It is bone stock unlike many of these GTI’s out there that are extensively modified with sometimes questionable mods, both in terms of quality and taste. So whether you like your car all original like this one is, or like to modify it correctly, this car is the blank canvas you can start with knowing you won’t have to correct another persons mistakes or poor taste. Also remember that we don’t charge dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. And don’t be fooled by some other auctions that are advertised as NO RESERVE and start at $100 or some other low price. Since no dealer is going to risk losing thousands of dollars if their auction doesn’t bring enough money, you can be pretty sure he has some “people” bidding on it for him. Especially those auctions that are private listings where it says “User ID kept private.” Also, because my reserve is close to the Buy It Now price, don’t think that you will get a much better deal if you just keep bidding it up instead of using B.I.N., especially if you need it delivered. TERMS OF THE AUCTION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Since this car may be advertised locally, auction can be canceled at any time (unless auction ended early with BUY IT NOW) due to prior sale without liability to any bidder. A down payment of $500 (plus any additional delivery charge) is required within 3 days of the close of the auction, balance due in cash on delivery or certified funds on delivery if I deliver it or you pick it up, or before it’s dropped off at the transporter if a shipping company is transporting it, but no later than 7 days after the close of the auction without prior agreement. I accept bank or certified checks, money orders, credit cards through PayPal (accepted for down payment only). If paying balance with funds other than cash, buyer to fax copy of monetary instrument no less than 24 hours before picking up vehicle. The car is sold as is. Buyer is welcome to inspect car BEFORE the end of the auction or to have someone check it out on your behalf provided you authorize whoever is checking the car to provide me with a copy of the results. I have tried to accurately describe this car, both mechanically and cosmetically but you can expect a certain amount of minor flaws on ANY used car including squeaks, rattles, drips, nicks, chips, scratches, blemishes and any other marks that are consistent with the age and mileage of the vehicle. There is no possible way to include all minute details and imperfections, however, I believe my listing accurately depicts this vehicle and if there are any issues they are noted in the description. Also remember that a vehicle is made up of thousands of mechanical parts and components and in an older or higher mileage used vehicle a part that is working fine now may go bad the next day, in a week, or a month from now. It’s nearly impossible to tell when a particular part or component will fail as most don’t exhibit prior symptoms, however, proper preventative maintenance as this car has received, can prevent most problems or breakdowns from happening. In fairness to all bidders the reserve price will not be disclosed so please don’t even ask. Buyer responsible for transportation and car must be paid for in full before it can be released. May deliver. Email or call for delivery quote or for any other questions. atikovi@email.com Maryland and District of Columbia dealer. Phone 202-246-5201. Please do not bid if you don’t intend to buy. FREE DELIVERY TERMS: Free delivery within 500 miles of the Washington DC area if bidder purchases vehicle with Buy It Now. (35 cents per mile for additional miles as shown in MapQuest.com from zip code 20001 to your address.) That is still the same rate as when I started on Ebay 14 years ago even with more than double the gas prices. Remember, the Buy It Now option disappears once the reserve price is met. The Buy It Now price is $14,995. AUCTION ENDS: 10:00pm sharp, EASTERN TIME Monday January 13th unless Buy It Now is used. |

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?
Sun, Jul 9 2023The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric. Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands. If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla. Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor. Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have: Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.
Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits
Wed, 15 May 2013The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
Skoda Octavia vRS is just the thing for your pumped-up neighborhood
Fri, 26 Jul 2013Skoda, oh Skoda. You're just so cool. Maybe it's the fact that it's a brand that we don't get in these United States, but Skoda's rebadged Volkswagens, in particular the new Octavia vRS shown here, are just different enough from the hum-drum VWs on our shores that the Czech brand seems strangely desirable. Maybe we're just craving forbidden fruit.
This short, minute-long spot covers the new vRS in a world of excess, where strollers ride on 26-inch wheels, lawnmowers feature V8 engines and ice cream cones are the size of toddlers. As things often go in these ads, the Octavia vRS draws the eyes of passerby that are seemingly use to things far more ridiculous than a reasonably priced Czech sedan. In reality, the Octavia should be fairly familiar to American buyers. It uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-pot found in the Volkswagen GTI and Jetta GLI, with 217 horsepower, and sits on the same platform as the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. Take a look at the full spot, below.
