Black 2010 Volkswagen Gti 2dr on 2040-cars
Albany, New York, United States
FIRESALE & REGRETABLE - I've moved overseas and I'm only looking to sell for what I owe on it. This 2010 VW GTI is both extremely reliable & practical in all seasons. It has excellent mileage on gas & 4 brand new Pirelli 'All Seasons' tires - used for 3 weeks only and cost 750$USD. It has been immaculately maintained at my certified Volkswagen dealer (Capital Cities VW) and I have all service records. for your convenience. I am the second owner but bought when the car had only 10,000 miles. The car has mostly only done highway miles also - besides short trips to work. It also comes with the balance of a 3YR of unlimited vehicle and roadside assistance warranty. The car is in 'as new' mechanical & physical condition besides a minor dent on the driver's side body work (see photos) other than that there is minor wear & tear but nothing major – this is a true bargain! I wish I could get it to Australia where I'm living as they sell for upwards of $32,000 here! The car is currently garaged in Rotterdam, my mother or father can show it to you as they're looking after that side of things for me. DETAILS: 2010 GTI W. 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION Please feel free to ask me any questions, I'd be more than happy to help! Dave |

Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company
Tue, 18 Jun 2013In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine
Sat, 07 Sep 2013Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.
Volkswagen Group names Paefgen head of classics program
Tue, 04 Oct 2011You may remember the name Franz-Josef Paefgen. Until recently, the German engineer and executive was head of both Bentley and Bugatti. Before that he was chief executive of Audi, after working for several years at Ford. He technically "retired" earlier this year, but like the cars he helped create, an executive like Paefgen could never really retire. So it should come as little surprise that the Volkswagen Group has named Dr. Paefgen head of its Classic program.
In his new capacity, Paefgen will oversee the historic automobile activities of the entire VW Group, including those of Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, and of course Bentley and Bugatti. It strikes us as a suitable semi-retirement for the man responsible in no small part for the Bugatti Veyron and Bentley Mulsanne, to name just two, and who was decorated in 2006 by the ACO as the "Spirit of Le Mans" for his contribution to endurance racing. Read the official announcement after the break.
