Truth be told, the first generation R32, arguably is one of the best hot hatches ever made. Being a Volkswagen enthusiast at heart and having owned a Corrado VR6,  an Audi B5 S4, multiple supercharged and turbo MK2's and MK3's,  along with other muscle cars and tuner cars, I can confidentally say that nothing compares to driving an R32. Every component designed and engineered on this vehicle is exceptional. It took me over a year to locate this exact vehicle with all the specs I was looking for. I can't believe I am selling one of my favorite all-time cars. Reason for selling is that I got engaged last month and my fiancee and I are planning a wedding. Hate to sell it, but funds have to come out of somewhere. Also, I am only driving the R32 on weekends since I am always in NYC on weekdays. Im sure someone would get better use out of the R32. Car comes with a clear history and clean title.

It has been washed, waxed and detailed every weekend with Zymol products ever since I bought it. Never raced, tracked, abused, and always garaged when not in use. Maintenance wise, this car needs nothing. It is a turn-key vehicle, no check-engine light, no lights on the cluster for that matter. All electronics work, sunroof, windows, seats etc. Car is basically stock except for the well known "flapper mod". It also has oem upgraded lighting components that I purchased from Craft 42 designs. When I bought the car, I had it inspected  at my shop inside and out. I did an oil change (Mobil 1), oem front rotors and pads (ECS Tuning), oem plugs and wires (VW Parts), replaced the 2 front axles, and 2 rear wheel bearings and an awd wheel alignment. Car rides, sounds, and feels superb. The handling, acceleration, and dual exhaust 3.2 VR6 is intoxicating and the new owner should bid/buy with confidence.

The car has 103,399 miles on it. I have never had a problem with the car since I've owned it. Engine is in top notch condition, AWD Haldex is in perfect shape, the 6 spd transmission shifts smoothly and never grinds. Suspension is in great condition as well as all braking components. Paint is in amazing condition and has a beautiful shine. Tires have tons of tread left. Car also comes with All Leather Koenig 5000's seats. By far, the best seats for driving, period. I encourage for the interested buyer to come and view the vehicle before bidding/purchasing it through ebay. There will be no negotiation, as these cars are becoming rarer by the day especially unmolested R32s. I feel it is better to pay more for a solid trouble free car than pay less for a car that needs work or can potentially need work shortly down the road which can ultimately cost you more in the long haul. This R32 has a long life ahead. Whatever your goals are with this car, rest assured it is a safe bet. With the purchase of the car, I will include a stock 225/40/18 tire, a used European fog light switch, and a new European Rear Fog light kit (ECS Tuning). R32 comes with the stock manual/book along with 1 FOB Key, wheel lock set/oem socket. Buyer is responsible for pickup/delivery or if buyer pays for shipping, I can accommodate for date/pickup. No warranties expressed or implied. $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction and full payment/pickup of vehicle within 7 days of auction. Any questions about the vehicle, feel free to ask. Thank you, good luck bidding, and bid with confidence!

Sunday Drive: Variety is the spice of life

Sun, Nov 12 2017

If there's any one new vehicle the entire world is anxiously waiting for, it's the Jeep Wrangler. Yes, of course the iconic off-roader has a loyal following here in America, but you could plop a Wrangler pretty much anywhere on the globe and everybody will know what it is. Put simply, the redesigned 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL has big, muddy shoes to fill, and the readers of Autoblog are just as interested in the Wrangler's rebirth as anyone else. Moving along, we were fortunate enough last week to spend a bit of time in nearly every version of the venerable Volkswagen Golf all in one day. There isn't a Golf we don't like, but there's one, easily identifiable by its three-digit name, that stands above all the rest: GTI. We think it's the best Golf you can buy, even if there's an R-badged variant that slots above the GTI in VW hierarchy. Rounding out our recap are three vehicles that could hardly be more different. The 2019 GMC Sierra, which was seen wearing pretty light camouflage, is a truck. The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio – which isn't going to go on sale, ever, at any price – is a conceptual supercar. And the Honda CB1000R is a retro-themed naked standard motorcycle. Variety really is the spice of life. 2018 Jeep Wrangler spy shot mega gallery Driving nearly every VW Golf: Base, GTI, R, Alltrack — here's what we learned 2019 GMC Sierra spied sporting just a thin wrapping The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio is a brutally fantastic EV supercar concept Honda unveils 2 new motorcycles, including retro-flavored CB1000R Image Credit: Brian Williams GMC Honda Jeep Lamborghini Volkswagen Technology Truck Convertible Crossover Hatchback SUV Performance sunday drive vw golf gti lamborghini terzo millennio

Recharge Wrap-up: First VW e-Golf in US up for auction, meet Project Ain't Fuelin'

Tue, Oct 14 2014

Volkswagen is auctioning the first e-Golf in the US to raise money for Global Green USA. The auction is live now, and bidding goes until 3:30 pm Eastern on October 29. Global Green USA will use the proceeds to help find solutions to climate change, and the winner will get to enjoy emissions-free driving before the car e-Golf goes on sale in November. If you don't live in or near California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont or Washington DC, you might want to sit this one out, as the car will only be available to pick up at dealers in those initial launch states. Go bid now, or learn more in the press release below. Berlin, Germany will use Solaris electric buses for a complete bus line in 2015. The downtown line will run 3.8 miles between Zoologischer Garten Station and Sudkreuz. The transport operator Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) will use four of the Solaris e-buses for the test, each about 39 feet long. The buses use a 200-kilowatt inductive charging system at the ends of the line to recharge in just a few minutes. The government-funded test runs through 2016, but BVG pans to use the electric buses beyond that timeline. Read more at Green Car Congress. The American Petroleum Institute (API) is worried that the Obama administration will use ethanol requirements to influence a Senate race in Iowa. In the midst of a close race against Republican Joni Ernst, Representative Bruce Braley, the Democratic candidate, is urging Obama to reject a cut in the Renewable Fuel Standard. The November election approaches, meanwhile the EPA continues to delay issuing an ethanol requirement for the year, with or without its proposed 16-percent reduction. Rejecting the cut could help get farmers and ethanol producers on the side of Braley. "We are very concerned that the signals we are seeing from the administration is that the political calculations are outweighing sound fuels policy," says API's Bob Greco. Read more at Businessweek. Project Ain't Fuelin' aims to fix up old cars to return them to original fuel economy, and then surpass it. Episode 3 of Valvoline's Under The Hood video series features Daniel Gray of MPGomatic, who is doing just that to a 1999 Honda Civic HX Coupe. He aims to get 50 mpg out of the old Civic by tuning it up, tinkering with the aerodynamics, switching to more efficient tires and other modifications.

Pontiac Aztek enjoys rebirth thanks to Millennials

Fri, Sep 11 2015

Apparently, Millennials – those between 18 and 34 – aren't afraid to look different on the road, and they like performance, too. A new study by Edmunds is discovering some surprising vehicle choices by this group. Among them, the long-derided Pontiac Aztek is getting a new day in the sun with 25.5 percent its buyers coming from this generation in the first half of 2015. For comparison, Millennials represent an average of 16.8 percent of used car purchases. The Aztek is slowly shaking its reputation as a styling abomination, which seems tied to its appearance on Breaking Bad. The show premiered in 2008, and the Pontiac has been on this list for four of the past five years, according to Edmunds. It even led the pack in 2010. A recent Retro Review from MotorWeek also showed that the crossover wasn't always so hated. While it's still a shock to see the Aztek on any popularity list, the awkward-looking crossover only ranks sixth among Millennials. The vehicle with the biggest portion of buyers from the generation is the Dodge Magnum with 27.6 percent. According to Edmunds, the bluntly styled wagon is especially popular in Detroit and Chicago. The Chrysler Pacifica comes in a close second at 27.3 percent. When it comes to used cars, value and utility appear to trump just about anything else for many Millennial buyers," Edmunds analyst Jeremy Acevedo said in the report. Young buyers aren't afraid of sporty rides, either. The Subaru WRX has 26.4 percent Millennial buyers to rank third place on the list, and the Volkswagen R32 takes fifth at 25.7 percent. Just a few points lower in seventh place is the Nissan GT-R at 25.4 percent, and the final performance machine in 10th place is the Lexus IS-F with 24.7 percent. Related Video:
