The car has a stainless header, MSD ignition coil conversion, GLI Recaro seats, power sunroof, 5 speed, Cruise, Tilt, Power windows, Runs and drives great, does not use oil, engine is quiet, Timing chain and guides replaced at 120k, front end has new bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends. It also has Eibach lowering springs. Sony CD player, 4 MBQuartz 5.5's in the doors and rear, 4 MBQuartz 1"tweeters, 15" Kicker sub, 1200 watts on sub base and 360 on mids & Highs all professionally installed. It has no rips or tears in the interior and the paint is a 7 out of 10. 28 mpg hiway, 19mpg city and the car handles like it is on rails. I am selling it because I have a new toy and I can't have 2 daily drivers. A/C will freeze you out and everything works EXCEPT-interior bulb, (sub rattles filament loose) and steering wheel radio controls because of the aftermarket CD. Jay Leno brings a rotary-powered VW Beetle to the garage

It takes something really unique or inventive to pique Jay Leno's interest. His show, Jay Leno's Garage, has featured everything from concours-worthy classics to completely custom, home-built machinery. How do you get Leno to feature one of more than 20 million Beetles on his program? Stick a turbocharged rotary engine under the hood. The Beetle's owner, Mario Markakis, swapped the car's stock flat four-cylinder for the Wankel engine from a 1990 Mazda RX-7 Series 5 Turbo. The engine's 250 horsepower are fed through a reinforced version of the Beetle's stock four-speed transmission. That's about five times the original engine's output. It works well, with the car putting down some impressive times at the drag strip. Markakis did most of the work to the Beetle in his garage. In addition to the engine swap, he's modified the car's brakes, suspension, and interior. Check out the video to hear all the details of this custom Wankel-powered Volkswagen. Europeans get first crack at new Golf Variant wagon

Just last week, when we brought you news of a new Volkswagen Golf variant out and testing in Europe, we had no idea we were being so literal with out description. For it seems that VW has every intention of calling its new Golf wagon, making its Geneva debut, the "Golf Variant."
Odd/interesting sobriquets taken as read then, there's a lot to like about this new small wagon from VW. The Variant will shed some 232 pounds in this generation, and will come to market with two efficient TDI engines. Volkswagen isn't giving us displacement figures for either yet, but we're told the diesels will come with outputs of 110 and 150 horsepower. The 110-hp TDI BlueMotion Varient will be good for a whopping 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle, when mated to the six-speed manual transmission.
The German automaker has brought along an all-wheel-drive 4Motion version of the Gold Variant to bow in Geneva, as well, and a natural gas-burning TGI BlueMotion is said to be "in the pipeline."
