2002 Volkswagen Eurovan Weekender with the Westfalia pop-up top camper. Average 19-20 mpg and cruises at 70-75mph.

In overall very good condition. Recently painted a custom gray. The van spent time in CA and HI and had sun fading on the front and roof. Decided it was worth paying a little more to repaint it a cool, custom color to stand apart. Painted all the door jams, etc. (I can send pictures of the faded paint if needed).

Recent work/maintenance all within last 200 miles:
New rear bearings
Brakes
Synthetic oil change
Transmission service with new fluid/filter
Brand new H-rated tires
Air cabin filter
Air Filter
Fuel filter

Just did a 90 point service check at the dealership.

Needs:
-Passenger inside door handle not working (will try to get this fixed, but no promises)
-Needs new auxiliary battery to run the refrigerator, rear main lights, etc. $90
- under the rear mat there is a spot we're bleach spilled on the carpet. Not very noticeable under the mat. Rear carpet kit is about $150 if you cared that much about it.
- a few small holes in the pop-up canvas. Nothing major, mostly where the clamp comes down. We put tent sealer tape on it and it holds great.

AC blows cold, heater hot. Has heated seats. Shifts smoothly. No rust. Trailer hitch. Tinted windows.

Kelley Blue book has it listed just over $19.5k. We are open to REASONABLE offers. No low ballers or flakes. Only trade is a 66-67 Pontiac GTO 3 or 4-speed in good shape.

We have several sets of keys and a keyless entry flip key. Clean and clear title in hand. $500 immediate deposit. Remaining funds due within 7 days of auction end. Payment either by wire or cash. No checks/cashier's checks.

Van is for sale locally so we reserve to end the auction at any time. If you have an offer or questions, feel free to call or text 949-419-4056

I'm happy to send more pictures of anything you need. We welcome mechanic inspections. Check my feedback.

Take a listen to the Volkswagen ID 3 and Koenigsegg Jesko

Sun, Dec 15 2019

What could better demonstrate our diametric vehicular future than sound clips of the Volkswagen ID 3 and the Koenigsegg Jesko? Battery-electric vehicles don't make enough noise on their own, so VW partnered with composer Leslie Mandoki for the legally-mandated Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) that warns pedestrians and cyclists of the EV's presence. Mandoki — a German-Hungarian who once played drums in a Euro disco band called Dschinghis Khan — was asked to come up with a sound for the ID 3 that VW said "defines its identity," "radiates safety and the promise of effortless mobility," and that "must also impress with its unique character." The definition of the ID 3's single-motor, 201-horsepower character is this: Occupants and people around the hatch can hear the sound as the car accelerates to 18.6 mph, and when reversing. At higher speeds, the sound of wind resistance and tire noise takes over. As our library of AVAS tones grows, it's clear that EVs will provide a soundscape as varied as that of internal combustion engines. Here, for instance, is the industrial thrum used as the Karma Revero GT's pedestrian warning: And here is the sci-fi soaring from the BMW Vision M Next, as composed by Hans Zimmer: At the other end of the aural chamber, we have the Koenigsegg Jesko. In this case, the composer is a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 running on a bio-ethanol E85 blend that's almost suitable for IndyCar, powering the engine up to 1,600 horsepower. Output on pump gas will be 'only' 1,281 hp. The Swedish automaker released a clip of the exhaust note of a car in progress inside the Angelhom factory. Here's what we can look forward to: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. All these sounds have a place at the table, even if we'd prefer Karma booked some time with a producer and an Autotune session. To paraphrase Sesame Street, though, one of these sounds is definitely not like the other.

Rimac inks deal to purchase 55% of Bugatti from VW Group

Mon, Jul 5 2021

ZAGREB, Croatia — Croatian electric supercar builder Rimac is taking over the iconic French manufacturer Bugatti in a deal that is reported to be worth millions of euros. Rimac said GermanyÂ’s Volkswagen Group, including the Porsche division — which owns a majority stake in Bugatti — plans to create a new joint venture. The new company will be called Bugatti-Rimac. Rimac Automobili announced Monday that it will be combining forces with Bugatti to “create a new automotive and technological powerhouse.” Rimac has progressed in 10 years from a one-man garage startup to a successful company that produces electric supercars. Mate Rimac, who founded the company in 2009, says the venture is an “exciting moment” and calls the combination of the companies “a perfect match for each other.” Porsche will own 45% of Bugatti-Rimac while Rimac Automobili will hold the remaining 55% stake, according to Croatian media reports. Financial details of the deal were not published. Bugattis will continue to be assembled in eastern France, where the company was established in 1909. The vehicles will use engines developed and made in Croatia. “In an industry evolving at ever-increasing speed, flexibility, innovation and sustainability remain at the very core of RimacÂ’s operations," the company said. “Uniting RimacÂ’s technical expertise and lean operations with BugattiÂ’s 110-year heritage of design and engineering prowess represents a fusion of leading automotive minds."
