1994 Volkswagen EuroVan WestFalia (with Rebuilt Transmission)

I had sold my Westfalia a month ago through eBay, but my transmission ceased at the time of the auction and the sale did not go through. I have since had the transmission rebuilt.

I hate to let her go, but I am selling my westfalia. She is a 1994 Westfalia Eurovan CV. I am her 2nd owner. She has served me very well. I have gone touring in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces throughout the years.

Engine is original 2.5L with 286,000 kilometers (178000 Miles). 5-Speed Manual Transmission. Paint is original Red.

I have provided her with regular maintenance.
On top of a rebuilt transmission, I recently installed a new alternator, new radio with USB attachment, and new catalytic converter.
Westfalia has Electric heater and alternate battery as well.

She has very new tires. 1 year old All Season (Continental) tires AND brand new Winter (Comtrac) tires.
With the exception of the gas guage and the coolant sensor, everything in the Westfalia works very well.
Air Conditioner, Stove and Sink have never failed me.
Refrigerator works in either Battery or electric mode.

The pop up canvas is perfect for 2 people sleeping up above.
Pop up Screen opening for those summer nights.
Curtains, Clips and the rear Hatch screen are original.
Original Awning extension, perfect for shade or rain cover.

Other Features include:
Both Captain Chairs swivel 180 degress.
Folding Table.
Back Bench folds into Bed.

There are countless other great features the WestFalia has.
It has some scratches around the body, but she`s still very pretty to look at.

VW invests in QuantumScape for potentially fireproof, long-range EV batteries

Mon, Dec 8 2014

VW might be getting ready to push its plug-in technology in a big way thanks to an investment in the battery startup QuantumScape. Key point: the solid-state battery is said to be fireproof and will offer tremendous range advantages. Details are not abundant yet, but according to Bloomberg, VW of America bought a five-percent stake in QuantumScape (and has an option to raise its holding). The tech could "more than triple" the EV range of VW, Porsche and Audi plug-in vehicles as soon as the middle of 2015, according to unnamed sources that Bloomberg talked to. Former Stanford University researchers started QuantumScape in 2010. The bare-bones QuantumScape website (there's nothing there other than some contact information) doesn't offer many hints about what's happening at the company, but GigaOM's Katie Fehrenbacher notes that QuantumScape is licensing tech from the "All Electron Battery" project at Stanford a few years ago. It certainly sounds amazing: [It's] a completely new class of electrical energy storage devices for electric vehicles that has the potential to provide ultra-high energy and power densities, while enabling extremely high cycle life. The All-Electron Battery stores energy by moving electrons, rather than ions, and uses electron/hole redox instead of capacitive polarization of a double-layer. ... If successful, this project will develop a completely new paradigm in energy storage for electrified vehicles that could revolutionize the electric vehicle industry. If that's what's coming in a future e-Golf or E-Tron, sign us up.

Volkswagen adding R-Line trim to Touareg, Tiguan for 2014

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

Volkswagen introduced its aggressive R-Line appearance package on the CC and Beetle last year, but later this year, this treatment will also be applied to VW's crossovers, the Tiguan and Touareg. Both sporty-looking utility vehicles will be unveiled next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
The 2014 Tiguan R-Line comes standard with bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights, and the package adds 19-inch wheels, grey fender extensions, body-color side skirts and a liftgate spoiler. Inside, the R-Line adds a flat-bottom sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, a black headliner and numerous metallic trim accents such as the stainless scuff plates, the aluminum pedals and metallic finish on the instrument and door panels. The Tiguan R-Line will be offered in front- and all-wheel drive configurations.
As for the 2014 Touareg R-Line (shown above), this model gets an ever more distinctive look with an aggressive front fascia, 20-inch wheels and dual oval-shaped exhaust outlets in addition to the painted side skirts and LED taillights. Similar metallic interior trim pieces found inside the Tiguan R-Line will also make their way into the Touareg as well as gloss black accents on the instrument panel and center stack.

Volkswagen unveils sportier Passat Performance Concept ahead of Detroit debut

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

Ahead of its official unveiling at next week's Detroit Auto Show, Volkswagen has released some preliminary details and images of its Passat Performance Concept - a car that, as its name suggests, adds a little more spice to the automaker's midsize sedan formula. VW makes no mention of any production intent for this road-ready-looking sedan, simply stating that the Performance Concept is a way to "explore this practical four-door's sportier side."
It certainly doesn't look too sporty, the only visual upgrades being larger 19-inch wheels, dual exhaust, bi-xenon headlamps with VW's Advanced Front Lighting system, LED taillmaps and carbon-look mirror caps. Inside, there are carbon interior accents and two-tone leather upholstery. But no matter, the real upgrades for this mightier Passat are found below the sheetmetal.
Powering the Performance Concept is a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, churning out 250 horsepower and sending its grunt to the ground via a six-speed automatic transmission. For reference, that's 80 more horsepower than the Passat's base 2.5-liter inline-five, but 20 horsepower less than the potent 3.6-liter VR6. As for other performance upgrades, Volkswagen has fitted the car with a lowered sport suspension and revamped electronic steering, which should indeed add a bit more dynamic feedback to the already nice-driving sedan.
