This 2001 VW Cabrio is in overall good condition. The airbag light is one due to a sensor and it needs a power window motor (power windows don’t work). Other than those two things, the car has no issues. It was just inspected and serviced by mechanic who specializes in Volkswagen; so I can tell you this vehicle is very reliable. The interior is
in good condition with no rips or stains.
The exterior has few flaws, but nothing major , but still in pretty good
condition. The covetable top is manual,
doesn’t leak, but does have two areas where it was torn and repaired. Please view pictures closely. Overall, a nice and reliable car that’s really great
on gas. |

VW Jetta GLI, Peugeot 505 are MotorWeek's 1986 Euro sport sedan alternatives
Tue, Dec 23 2014Video reviews have become a mainstay of automotive journalism, but long before every publication turned on its video cameras and started uploading to YouTube, there was one program that was blazing the trail. That, of course, was MotorWeek, the television car program produced by Maryland Public Television and hosted by the inimitable John Davis. The program first aired back in 1981, and after more than three decades in the business, it's got a considerable archive of old episodes to unearth. In this latest gem recovered from the MotorWeek back catalog, the program pitted two European sports sedans against each other: a Volkswagen Jetta GLI and a Peugeot 505 Turbo. That's right: back in the 1980s, Peugeot was still competing in the US marketplace. The forced-induction 505 may not have been enough to keep the French automaker in American showrooms, but it was enough to stand up against the VW. Which one won MotorWeek's favor? Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.
