Volkswagen Cc **rare*** Type-r 2010, Dealer Maintained, Extremely Clean! on 2040-cars
Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States
This car is loaded with Power Seats, Doors, Windows, iPod/Iphone Integration, Bluetooth Phone, Weathertech floor mats as well as factory ones that came with the car, Heated Mirrors as well. No Kids, Interior and exterior is spotless. The car has never been in an accident or had any body work done to it at all. Tires are new within last 10k miles. I am the second owner of this car, this car has been serviced at the dealer every time! This car is ready to go! Alas, this is another comparo in which the car producing the least power and torque emerges victorious. C/D readers are inveterate rock throwers, and we can already hear them sprinting toward quarries nationwide. So,please examine the numbers. To 30 mph, the CC lagged merely 0.1 second behind the 80-horse-stronger Acura and was only 0.4 second behind it to 60 mph. Just as impressive, the CC absolutely annihilated the competition in the telling 30-to-50-mph top-gear test. That it was by far the lightest of our participants helped. That it achieved the best fuel economy is simply a tribute to conscientious engineering. If Buick is looking to perfect its four-cylinder turbo, it should look no further than VW’s version: quiet, smooth, responsive, and emanating subtle whirrings that will have you confusing it for a small V-6. Or a turbine. No matter what, it never sounds like a cheap four-banger. The CC’s “bests” clogged the floodgates: best skidpad grip, best ergonomics, best fit and finish, best exterior styling, best interior styling, best handling, best transmission, best steering, best as-tested price, and best driver comfort. So enticing was the front-passenger seat that photographer Marc Urbano selected it for nearly every minute of our 900-mile Granot Loma odyssey. “This is the only car that invited me to have fun,” wrote one driver. “Just a lovely, smooth, fleet-footed cruiser,” offered another. “The light steering is more precise and tracks better than the Buick’s. A light touch to all the primary controls. Perfectly bolstered seats. A suspension that seems to hunker down as speed mounts. And a dual-clutch transmission that shifts three ways to Sunday but always with West Point precision.” By no means is the CC perfect. Those who require a five-passenger sedan will have to forgo the four-only CC. The alluring roofline and high beltline squash the window apertures and do damage to front interior volume. Encountering large pavement whoop-de-doos, the platform sometimes shivers. And the silver-toned accent that sweeps the length of the dashboard looks, well, pretty low-rent. Otherwise, the VW emerges a 14-point victor. “I called our long-term Audi A4 a ‘VW GTI for grown-ups,’ ” said Gluckman. “Maybe I should have applied that description to the CC.” |

2015 Volkswagen GTI: Driving into spring with just one regret [w/video]
Wed, Apr 15 2015If you only notice one thing in the video above, it should be this: that GTI is filthy. Yes, the grossness of winter took its toll on our long-term 2015 Volkswagen GTI, covering the Carbon Steel hatch in a mess of salt-and-slush-streaked grime. The GTI was a champ during the cold months With 225/40R18 Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires offering sure-footed grip, the hatch became a dear companion to editors slogging through unsavory weather. Front-wheel-drive cars are already pretty solid for wintertime driving, and with the added traction of these tires, the GTI plowed forward without any drama. Our biggest gripe about snowy driving involved the car's Driver Assistance Package – a $695 option that, knowing what we know now, we wouldn't have ordered. First, this option positions the front camera right in the middle of the lower grille, which looks pretty terrible. But more importantly, the system can't tell the difference between slush/snow and an actual obstacle, so it constantly feels the need to warn us that we might hit something when the camera is covered in grime. Clearing the camera off isn't a problem, but the practice grew more annoying as the season continued. The Driver Assistance Package gets you front and rear parking sensors that, honestly, we find to be a bit too sensitive. It's activated in any low-speed situation, so the car freaks out whenever you take it through a car wash, and beeps if you walk up to the rear (to, say, open the hatch) while the engine is running. And because the GTI S model doesn't get you a rear-view camera, there's no real added benefit to the noise-makers. Yes, they help while parking in tight places, but if you struggle to park a vehicle the size of a Golf with its already excellent sight lines, you've got larger problems to overcome. We have other issues with the system, too – like how the forward sensors will blink in the instrument panel to tell you you're too close to the vehicle in front of you on the road, even with a four-car-length separation between vehicles. In all, these issues just don't seem to outweigh the benefits of the safety system. To us, it's not $695 well spent. But enough complaining. Really, the Driver Assistance Package has been the only issue we've had with the GTI since its arrival in January. Now that winter has finally melted away, we've enjoyed nice, warm temperatures here in Detroit – just last week, we were took the winter tires off.
Audi, Porsche ensnared in new Volkswagen cheating allegations
Mon, Nov 2 2015The scope of the Volkswagen emissions cheating scandal that has enveloped the global automaker for the past six weeks widened Monday. Now, some of the automaker's premium brands are further ensnared in the mess. Officials with the Environmental Protection Agency issued a second notice of violations Monday, accusing Volkswagen of violating the Clean Air Act by using defeat devices that circumvent emissions testing on diesel versions of certain vehicles equipped with 3.0-liter engines. Roughly 10,000 vehicles in the United States contain the illegal software, the EPA alleges. That's a far smaller number than the 482,000 vehicles affected by the first instances of cheating, which Volkswagen confessed to in September. But this latest violation alleges the cheating occurred broadly through the Volkswagen empire and includes vehicles from the Porsche and Audi brands. Audi had one model, the A3, involved in the first round of announced violations. But the brand, which has enjoyed skyrocketing sales in the US in recent years, is more extensively involved in violations announced Monday. The 2016 Audi A6 Quattro, A7 Quattro, A8, A8L and Q5 are among the cars which contain the illegal software, which permits the cars to emit nitrogen oxide at up to nine times the allowable thresholds set in the Clean Air Act, according to the EPA. The 2015 Porsche Cayenne and '14 Volkswagen Toureg SUV are also affected. "There is clear evidence of additional violations and it's important to put Volkswagen on notice and to inform the public." - Janet McCabe. "Audi, which has been on a roll in terms of sales, reputation and image of late, now is being drawn deeper into the quagmire," said Michelle Krebs, senior analyst for Autotrader. "Previously, only the low-volume A3 was under scrutiny, but now Audi's core models are under fire." Audi officials did not respond to a request for comment Monday. In a written statement issued late Monday afternoon, a Porsche spokesperson said, "We are surprised to learn this information. Until this notice, all our information was that the Porsche Cayenne Diesel is fully compliant." Porsche said it would cooperate with authorities.
The VW Sport Coupe GTE Concept promises exciting things for brand's future [w/video]
Tue, Mar 3 2015In recent years, it seems as though the Audi allotment of design talent from the Volkswagen Group has gotten braver, while the VW designers have become more conservative. One look at the current Volkswagen range reveals a lot of tidy sheet metal, but hardly any that rank as evocative or emotionally compelling. If the rhetoric around this Sport Coupe GTE Concept turns to action, however, VW's mass-marketed cars could become a lot more interesting to look at. Sharp creases and bold graphics can be found on just about every inch of the concept, and the large wheels at either extreme corner help to sell this as a "four-door coupe" more than most executions of that now hackneyed styling term. And, if you like what you see, then you might want to hold out for quickly approaching versions of this look on production models. Design head Walter de Silva says this language will be "shaping the immediate future" for VW product. Mechanically, the Coupe also previews more hybridization for the VW line. The concept has a plug-in hybrid powertrain, with a turbo 3.0-liter V6 driving the front wheels, and an electric motor sending yet more power to the rear. You can read up on the details in our official post from a few days ago, or just click through the pretty pictures in the gallery above. SPORT COUPE CONCEPT GTE MAKES WORLD DEBUT AT THE GENEVA AUTO SHOW Four-door coupe marks beginning of a new design era at Volkswagen Wolfsburg/Geneva, March 2015 -Volkswagen will debut the Sport Coupe Concept GTE at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show, heralding a new and progressive Volkswagen design language. "Evolution and revolution come together in the Sport Coupe Concept GTE. This concept is based on Volkswagen design DNA, which has been visibly sharpened even more. It shows how the highest-volume brand of our Group is shaping the immediate future," says Walter de Silva, Head of Design of Volkswagen AG. Dr Heinz-Jakob Neusser, Volkswagen Brand Board Member for Development, elaborates: "This breathtakingly dynamic coupe is unlike any other to appear in this class. The design of the Sport Coupe Concept GTE is an impressive alternative to the classic sedans of the B and C segments-it has the style of a sport coupe that is enriched by the functionality of a large hatchback and the interior space of a sedan." Klaus Bischoff, Head of Design of the Volkswagen Brand, adds: "The Sport Coupe Concept GTE is another milestone of expressive design.
