No Reserve!!!! 1989 Vw Westfalia Campmobile! on 2040-cars
New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
1989 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper Van! A perfect vehicle to take for a road trip, camp anywhere you pull over, and yet still be able to park in any major city. Air Condition!, Power Steering, Automatic Windows, CD, 2 beds (Can sleep 4), Refrigerator, 2 burner stove, Sink, Outside Awning, Rear Hatch Bug Screen, Front Full Dash Privacy Cover, Electric & Water hookups, Hidey Hole Shift Knob. It has a "Refurbished" title as I was in an accident (you can see the damage on the driver's side of the vehicle) and the insurance company marked it as a salvaged vehicle. A full inspection by State Police Inspector was completed on 5/29 and the title was changed to Rebuilt / Reconstructed and is fully licensed for road use. The functionality of the vehicle has been in no way affected and it always gets me where I want to go with no issue. It has been my super fun daily driver but I'm heading out of the country so it's time to let someone else have the fun. I'm the 3rd owner, was told that the engine was rebuilt by previous owner but there is no documentation on this. Clutch, Radiator Pump, Starter, Sink Faucet recently replaced. Tires replaced in November 2011 and still have good tread. Air condition was just charged and blowing cold. Undercarriage is looking good. New Water pump for the sink comes with the van, I never found time to install it. The odometer stopped working about 2 years ago so I can only guess at the mileage being in the early 200,000 area, there is a tear in the driver's seat upholstery, a couple rust spots around the window seals and at the driver's side damage area, a tear in the canvas at the rear, front fan blower needs replaced, and you'll need to purchase a new handle for the inside of the sliding door. Take a look at the video below to get a good idea. It is 25 years old and there is some maintenance and upkeep that will need to be invested in, but all in all this a a great vehicle that runs wonderfully and has many more years of fun to offer a new owner. The vehicle is being offered AS-IS with NO RESERVE!! I purchased the vehicle through Ebay in 2008 and got a great deal and I feel it should be offered up the same way. Please be committed to purchasing when placing your bid. Terms: $500 deposit due by paypal within 24hours after the auction has ended and full payment by bank transfer or cashiers check within 72hours after the auction has ended. The vehicle must be picked up in New Orleans, LA by July 27 at the very latest If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Good Luck &Happy Bidding!!! |

Volkswagen says goodbye to Eos, Routan in 2015 updates
Wed, 23 Jul 2014Usually automakers announce changes to their lineup individually on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis, but sometimes it all comes at once - especially when the changes are ones we either expected or might not otherwise notice. That's the path Volkswagen has gone with changes to its US lineup for 2015.
The biggest change is what we already knew: that the new Golf arrives for the 2015 model year, bringing with it the new GTI, Golf R, e-Golf and Golf SportWagen (to replace the previous Jetta wagon). But there are some new details as well.
For starters, Volkswagen has finally confirmed that both the Eos and the Routan - both long rumored to be on their way out - will be exiting this year. The Eos hardtop convertible, pictured above, will linger for one last year, its Sport trim replaced by a new Final Edition with 18-inch wheels, two-tone leather interior and enhanced equipment.
Volkswagen could build plug-in hybrids in China
Sun, Apr 6 2014When you're Europe's largest automaker and your largest global market happens to be the one most notorious for its pollution (China), some solutions just present themselves. Volkswagen may be heeding that call. During the upcoming Beijing Motor Show, the company is expected to announce plans to produce plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in China, Reuters says, citing sources within the company. Few details have emerged, though the plug-ins will likely be produced at VW's Foshan factory in South China, which currently makes the Golf and Audi A3 and has plans to eventually make 600,000 vehicles annually. News has been percolating for a while, as Oliver Schmidt, general manager engineering and environmental office for Volkswagen Group of America, said last March that the company was planning at least two plug-in hybrid lines under the VW badge (and another three with its Audi and Porsche affiliates), including possibly a Touareg and Jetta PHEV. VW said late last month that it was looking to speed up development of "particularly eco-friendly models" made by Shanghai Volkswagen as well as developing a "new, very eco-friendly vehicle" with First Automotive Works (FAW). Earlier this year, VW unveiled its Golf GTE plug-in hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show. That model has a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor to provide 201 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The car can travel as many as 81 miles on electric power alone.
The best cars we drove this year
Tue, Dec 30 2014Six hundred and fifty. That's roughly how many cars pass through the hands of Autoblog editors every year, from the vehicles we test here at home, to the cars we drive on new product launches, testing roundups, long-term cars, and so on. Of course, our individual numbers vary due to several reasons, but at the end of the day, our team's repertoire of automotive experience is indeed vast. But let's be honest, some cars certainly stand out more than others. So as the year's about to turn, and as we're readying brand-new daily cat calendars for our cubicles, our editors are all taking time to reflect on the machinery that made this year so special, with one simple, open-ended question as the guide – a question that we're asked quite frequently, from friends, family, colleagues, and more. "What's the best car you drove this year?" Lamborghini Huracan When I review the list of everything I drove in 2014, picking an absolute favorite becomes almost impossible. I mean, how does one delineate between the joy offered by cars as different as the Alfa Romeo 4C, Volkswagen Golf R, Mercedes-AMG GT S and even the humble-yet-wonderful Chevy Colorado? Okay fine, I'll just pick the Lamborghini. I drove the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 on a racetrack, in the mountains, and along southern coast of Spain. It felt like the king of the car jungle in all of those places, sucking the eyeballs of observers nearly out of their heads as it drove by, and almost melting my brain with its cocktail of speed and grip and intense communication. It feels a little easy to say that the one new supercar I drove this year was also my favorite, but the fact is that the Huracan is one of the finest cars I've driven during my career, let alone 2014. Judge me if you must. – Seyth Miersma Senior Editor Rolls-Royce Wraith There are a couple of ways to look at the question, "What's the best car you drove this year?" In terms of what was so good I'd go out and buy one tomorrow, that'd be my all-time sweetheart, the Volkswagen GTI. Or if I'm just talking about sheer cool-factor, maybe something like the Galpin GTR1, BMW i8, or Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. But instead, I'm going to write about the sheer opulence of being the best of the best. The hand-crafted, holier-than-thou, shut-your-mouth-when-I'm-talking-to-you supremacy. I'm picking the Rolls-Royce Wraith. I drove the Wraith for a week in April, and was really, really impressed. This car does everything, perfectly.
