HELLO!...

I AM THE 3RD OR 4TH OWNER OF THIS LIKE NEW WESTIE!

I HAVE ABOUT 100 PAGES OF DOCUMENTATION!...FROM EVEN IT'S 1ST OIL CHANGE!

SO.......MY WIFE AND I HAVE DECIDED TO RETIRE AND MOVE INTO A CONDO...SO WE MUST SELL.  :-(...

I PURCHASED THE WESTIE WITH GREAT DREAMS...BUT ABOUT 10 YEARS TO LATE!  :-)  MY WIFE CAN'T MAKE THE CLIMB UP INTO THE BUNK!

ANYWAY...I'VE HAD DONE IN THE PAST YEAR...I HAD THE ENGINE REMOVED AND COMPLETELY REBUILT AND DETAILED.  NEW EXAUST...AND EVEN HEATER BOX FLAPPERS.  NEW FUEL FILTER AND PUMP...GAS TANK ALSO CLEANED.

ALSO, I HAD NEW GEAR BOX SHIFT WORK DONE!...(IT NOW SHIFTS AS TIGHT AS WHEN IT WAS NEW!!)...I ALSO HAD A NEW DRIVER’S DOOR WINDOW CRANK INSTALLED TOO...AND SO MUCH MORE!...

ALSO...IT IS ABOUT 93% ORIGINAL PAINT!  MAKING UP THE 7% IS:  THE SLIDING DOOR HAD A SMALL DING ON THE BOTTOM...(TYPICAL...) SO THAT WAS REPAIRED AND PAINTED...ALSO...THERE WERE TWO TINY 1/8" IMPERFECTIONS ON THE FRONT AND REAR WINDOW GASKET AREA'S THAT WE HAD PAINTED TOO.

THE INTERIOR AND FABRIC ARE VIRTUALLY LIKE NEW. I DID PURCHASE NEW MATCHING FABRIC FOR THROW PILLOWS...IT WILL BE INCLUDE.  AND I ALSO HAD THE POP TOP SCREEN PROFESSIONALLY REMOVED AND REPLACED.

THINGS I WOULD STILL DO...

THE FRIG. DOESN'T SEEM TO BE WORKING?...BUT I'M ALSO NOT FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH IT...BUT IT STILL DOES HAVE IT’S ORIGINAL ICE TRAY!!  :-)

ALSO...THE STOVE WORKS...BUT MY MECHANIC SAID THAT THERE IS A LEAK AT THE GAS VALE ITSELF...I WOULD HAVE PURCHASED THE NEW PROPANE  TANK SET AT GOWESTIE FOR $500.00 IF I WERE TO HAVE KEPT IT.

OTHER THINGS DONE...I REMOVED THE SLIDING DOOR AND REAR DOOR PANEL PAPER.  I HAVE NEW PAPER TO REPLACE IT.

SO TO SUM IT UP!...

THIS WESTIE IS ABOUT THE NICEST WESTIE I HAVE EVER SEEN OR DRIVEN!!  AND UNBELIEVABLY...YOU WON'T BELIEVE OF HOW QUIET THE ENGINE IS!...AND OF HOW STRONG IT IS!  AMAZING!...

ALSO...HOURS, AND HOURS AND HOURS WERE SPENT IN DETAILING THIS WONDERFUL WESTIE...EVEN THE EXTERIOR WINDOW TRIMS WERE POLISHED OUT...AND LOOK AT THOSE HEADLAMP STONE GRILL GAURDS!!...WHERFE HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THOSE!!....ALSO HAD THE FRONT SEATS REMOVED AND BASE TURN PLATES THOROUGHLY CLEANED, POLISHED AND SILICONED...THE SEATS MOVE, SWIVEL, AND GLIDE WITH EASE!

THIS WESTIE DRIVES ULTRA SMOOTH AND HANDLES TRULY AS IF NEW.  YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED.  LOOKS 10XS NICER IN PERSON!

Former Audi chief designer Wolfgang Egger leaves Italdesign

Sat, Dec 27 2014

The latest word from the international community of automotive designers has it that Wolfgang Egger is leaving Italdesign, but just where the accomplished designer will land next and who will take his place remain big question marks. Egger is a designer who has bounced back and forth between Italy and Germany over the course of his career. He was born in Germany but studied in Milan. He began his career at Alfa Romeo in 1989 and was named its chief designer by 1993 before being head-hunted by the Volkswagen Group in 1998 to head up the design department at Seat. A few years later he went returned to Italy to run the Lancia design department, and was subsequently renamed to the same post at Alfa Romeo. In 2007 he went back to his native Germany to head up the Audi design office, over which he assumed complete responsibility by 2012, but left Audi in 2013 to run Italdesign. For those unfamiliar, Italdesign is the studio founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro (pictured at left next to Egger) back in 1968 but which, along with many other Italian design houses, fell on hard times in recent years. The Volkswagen Group swooped in to rescue the troubled studio in 2010, turning it into something of an in-house advanced design department to provide an alternative perspective on the direction in which the group and its various brands could take their respective designs moving forward. With Egger now leaving its helm, Italdesign and its German parent company will need to find his replacement, and we're sure they'll announce one in due course. The bigger question on our minds, however, is where Egger himself will head next. Given the path his career has taken to date, we wouldn't be surprised to see him land elsewhere in the Volkswagen Group or find a new role in the expanding Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire. Then again, Egger could find it time to open an entirely new chapter. Watch this space. Brand new cars are being sold with defective Takata airbags

Wed, Jun 1 2016

If you just bought a 2016 Audi TT, 2017 Audi R8, 2016–17 Mitsubishi i-MiEV, or 2016 Volkswagen CC, we have some unsettling news for you. A report provided to a US Senate committee that oversees the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and reported on by Automotive News claims these vehicles were sold with defective Takata airbags. And it gets worse. Toyota and FCA are called out in the report for continuing to build vehicles that will need to be recalled down the line for the same issue. That's not all. The report also states that of the airbags that have been replaced already in the Takata recall campaign, 2.1 million will need to eventually be replaced again. They don't have the drying agent that prevents the degradation of the ammonium nitrate, which can lead to explosions that can destroy the airbag housing and propel metal fragments at occupants. So these airbags are out there already. We're not done yet. There's also a stockpile of about 580,000 airbags waiting to be installed in cars coming in to have their defective airbags replaced. These 580k airbags also don't have the drying agent. They'll need to be replaced down the road, too. A new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time. If all this has you spinning around in a frustrated, agitated mess, there's a silver lining that is better than it sounds. So take a breath, run your fingers through your hair, and read on. Our best evidence right now demonstrates that defective Takata airbags – those without the drying agent that prevents humidity from degrading the ammonium nitrate propellant – aren't dangerous yet. It takes a long period of time combined with high humidity for them to reach the point where they can rupture their housing and cause serious injury. It's a matter of years, not days. So a new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time – and six years seems to be about as early as the degradation happens in the worst possible scenario. All this is small comfort for the millions of people who just realized their brand-new car has a time bomb installed in the wheel or dashboard, or the owners who waited patiently to have their airbags replaced only to discover that the new airbag is probably defective in the same way (although newer and safer!) as the old one.
