1981 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Campmobile Van Camper 3-door 2.0l Pop Up Clean on 2040-cars
Portland, Oregon, United States
Up for bid is a Beautiful 1981 Volkswagen Camper Westfalia with less than 100,000 original miles. This is a very clean and strong running camper that is ready to get out and get CAMPING! Van has an automatic transmission, swivel seats and a super clean interior that shows how well it has been cared for. All of the material is in great condition, all of the beds and seats are very clean and in great shape. Van has the entire set of curtains in great condition. It also has both of the tables, it is really nice to turn the passenger seat around for more room and easy dining. This unique van sleeps four with a full size bed up top and the bottom seat folds down to make another full size bed down below. The photo of the bed up top turned out pretty dark, however, it is very clean and doesn't have any stains or rips on it. This Westy is a wonderful camping machine that is fully equipt with a water reservoir and sink, a built in stove top, a nice little refrigerator with racks and a tiny little freezer. This camper has all that you need for camping! Just flip a little switch and it lights up to tell you how much water it has on board and how much battery power you have. The canvas up top is in really good condition. There are a couple of blemishes, but nothing to point out as far as functionality. All of the seals are in place and are in good condition, there are no leaks. The 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine runs very strong and has had regular maintenance. All four tires are in great shape and the van goes right down the road nice and straight. This van has a hitch, but we have never pulled anything with it. I would rate this camper an 8.5 overall condition. It is not perfect, it is an '81 and it has been well loved and camped in. Please review all of the photographs and ask any questions you may have before the end of the auction. I will answer your questions openly and honestly with as much detail as possible. This is one of the nicer VW's out there. It has been very well taken care of with very low original miles. One lucky bidder will get a very dependable, nice camper with a clean, clear title in hand! The tags are current and good until December of 2015. Van is being sold "as is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!! |

Volkswagen Cross Up! headed for production after Geneva reveal
Wed, 13 Feb 2013The last time we saw the Volkswagen Cross Up!, it was sitting out in the snow in prototype form, but the next time we'll see this slightly more rugged version of the diminutive Up! hatchback will be when it makes its production debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Looking like a micro-crossover with its raised ground clearance and black cladding, the Cross Up! will be the fourth "Cross" model for VW (after the CrossPolo, CrossGolf and CrossTouran) when it goes on sale this summer in mainland Europe (UK sales remain up in the air and US sales are highly unlikely).
Overall, the styling of the production Cross Up! has stayed fairly true to the 2011 concept car, including the front and rear fascias that offer a more rugged look, stocky 16-inch wheels and roof rack side rails. Inside, this model will get unique interior enhancements such as "Cross Up!" sill plates and an instrument panel available in red, black or silver. Like the regular Up!, the Cross Up! is powered by a 74-horsepower, 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and it doesn't look like all-wheel drive will be part of the picture. For more details on the upcoming Cross Up!, check out VW's press release posted below.
Volkswagen Golf Wagon leaked ahead of official unveiling
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Wagons ho! These three images of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf Wagon have leaked online ahead of the car's official debut, which may very well be at the Geneva Motor Show. Looking over the photos doesn't really bring any surprises - after all, this is a VW Golf with a wagon rear end grafted on, or basically what we expect next Jetta SportWagen will be.
We can only share these three images at this time, but fret not, folks. There's little doubt that all the details and images will be flowing from Volkswagen in short order. In the meantime, click on the images above to view them in high resolution.
VW Super Bowl teaser with Jimmy Cliff is like a less-mean Tosh.0 Web Redemption
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Reggae super-duper-star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff has been using music to send positive vibes out into the universe for decades now, so its no surprise that his message on behalf of Volkswagen is one of redemption.
Dubbed Sunny Side, this web-spot is VW's warmup of sorts for what promises to be another blockbuster year in the world of Super Bowl commercials. Without giving away the game, the euphonious commercial sees Cliff opening his arms and his heart to some YouTube 'celebrities' that might see courser treatment from the likes of Tosh.0, for instance. We can't help but be reminded of Coca-Cola's legendary 1971 Hilltop spot with the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" lyric, too.
Enjoy the pre-Super Bowl VW spot below, and don't forget to pay it forward... your karma will thank you. For those of you that just can't get enough of commercial-making magic, we've included a "making-of" video, as well.
