1979 Vw Bus Campmobile Westfalia *survivor* Og Paint & Interior Not Restored !!! on 2040-cars
South Gate, California, United States
1979 VW BUS CAMPMOBILE DELUXE WESTFALIA. This is a "true survivor" westfalia campmobile featuring original Mexico beige exterior paint color and complete great condition interior. This bus is perfect for those collectors looking for stock "unrestored" vehicles. Technically a 2 owner bus and I'm the 3rd one. Second owner acquired this bus in 2010 and was parked at his mechanic shop for about 4 years. Odometer currently shows 94,115 original miles. Exterior looks awesome with original paint that still shines pretty well with some minor parking lot dings mostly on the slide door but never been in an accident so no body work or paint patches around ever. Yes, I know there are a lot of nice "restored" buses out there but how many times do you have the chance to own a real survivor westfalia? The answer is not many. Pros: - Original Mexico beige paint in superb condition. - Accident free bus with straight panels and no body work repairs ever. - Clean complete interior with all cabinets in great condition. - Fridge is working as it should be as well as sink with electric pump. - Clean original dash. - Original carpet front and back. - Original plaid upholstery for rear seat and bed on top. - New tires. - Excellent running condition with original fuel injection system. - Original like new rear hatch mosquito net. - New top canvas. - Refurbished front seats. - Clear California title and current registration. - Solid chassis and floors. - Original dash table. - Original bench between front seats. - Starts at any time in any weather, engine purrs like a kitten. Cons: - Minor dings and dents on exterior body. - Surface rust at driver side front floor and under rubber step pads. - Minor little rust dots starting to appear at front panel middle and lower section. - White vinyl material from headliner removed by previous owner. - Shut off valve on the outside gas tank has a leak. - Dash B light for brake is on. - Front seats not upholstered in plaid material. In general this is an awesome bus getting many thumbs up at car shows because of its originality. Do not hesitate to make an appointment to see it in person. Bring your mechanic or hire any inspection company. I am sure you will not be disappointed with this classic gem. Payment, deposit, shipping and refunds. This is not an auction, you can buy the vehicle at any time. After using the Buy it now option a $500 deposit is due through Paypal while remaining balance to be paid within 5 days by cash, cashiers check or bank wire transfer. VW says it has sold over 100,000 TDI diesels in America this year
Thu, 26 Dec 2013Volkswagen Group of America has lit oil-burning fireworks to celebrate the sales of more than 100,000 TDI Clean Diesel vehicles in the US between its VW and Audi brands this year. According to VW, that means it is responsible for more than 75 percent of diesel-engined cars and SUVs sold here - perhaps not surprising when the two brands offer a total of 12 diesel models.
What might be surprising is that the number of diesels isn't far off the estimated sales of 90,000 battery electric vehicles and PHEVs, with 15,000 of those accounted for by the Tesla Model S, another 12,000 or so being the Toyota Prius PHEV.
VW's keen to play up the ease of making diesel part of your life, stressing that it doesn't need any change to the refueling infrastructure and that "this is a technology delivering real answers to society's concerns about fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions without compromises."
Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish
Wed, 10 Jul 2013A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
Defying Trump, major automakers finalize California emissions deal
Tue, Aug 18 2020WASHINGTON — The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and major automakers on Monday confirmed they had finalized binding agreements to cut vehicle emissions in the state, defying the Trump administration's push for weaker curbs on tailpipe pollution. The agreements with carmakers Ford Motor Co, Volkswagen AG, Honda Motor Co and BMW AG were first announced in July 2019 as voluntary measures prompting anger from U.S. President Donald Trump. A month later, the Justice Department opened an antitrust probe into the agreements. The government ended the investigation without action. The Trump administration in March finalized a rollback of U.S. vehicle emissions standards to require 1.5% annual increases in efficiency through 2026. That is far weaker than the 5% annual increases in the discarded rules adopted under President Barack Obama. The 50-page California agreements, which extend through 2026, are less onerous than the standards finalized by the Obama administration but tougher than the Trump administration standards. The automakers have also agreed to electric vehicle commitments. Volvo Cars, owned by China's Geely Holdings, said in March it planned to join the automakers agreeing to the California requirements. It has also finalized its agreement. The settlement agreements say California and automakers agreed to resolve "potential legal disputes concerning the authority of CARB" and other states that have adopted California's standards. In May, a group of 23 U.S. states led by California and some major cities, challenged the Trump vehicle emissions rule. Other major automakers like General Motors Co, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Toyota Motor Corp did not join the California agreement. Those companies also sided with the Trump administration in a separate lawsuit over whether the federal government can strip California of the right to set zero emission vehicle requirements. Ford said the "final agreement will reduce emissions in our vehicles at a more stringent rate, support and incentivize the production of electrified products, and create regulatory certainty." BMW said "by setting these long-term, predictable, and achievable standards, we have the regulatory certainty that is necessary for long-term planning that will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but ultimately benefit consumers as well."Â
