You are looking at a 1969 Volkswagen Deluxe Bus. This is a good ol bus, runs and drives great. The steering and brakes are good. The motor and transmission are strong. This bus has a very nice running 1600 dual port motor, and a nice quiet 4 speed transmission that doesn’t pop out. It doesn’t leak much oil. The man I got this bus from said it only had about 10,000 miles on the motor.  The interior has a Westfalia camper kit installed, with front walk through seats. The upholstery is original and in good shape. The headliner is original and has a few tears.

As you can see in the pictures, this old bus has some rust on the rocker panels and the upper front lower dog leg. There are a couple rust places underneath, but not bad to repair. The right rear upper panel, by the vent, has had some bodywork which wasn’t repaired properly and is off by an inch and a half, it doesn’t look very bad though. All the glass is good, the front windshield has a small star in it.

All of the lights work, wipers work, dimmer switch is not working and the heater is unhooked. The stereo works good, and the speakers in the cab sound pretty decent. This bay window bus has 14 inch tires and original stock wheels. The radial tires have good tread, and aren’t cracked.

This good old VW bus has had some scrapes and cracks, but is still very presentable as is. There are a lot of good times left in this bus, and we are selling it for a good price, so have fun bidding. Thanks for looking, Jack   208-888-1240 (MST USA)

Andretti Autosport partners with Volkswagen for Global Rallycross season

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Michael Andretti and Volkswagen have both been involved in Global Rallycross for a couple of years, but not together. Andretti Motorsports Marketing organized the final round of the 2012 GRC series in Las Vegas, and there were rumors then that Andretti was going to get in. Around the same time there were news reports that Volkswagen was preparing a 600-hp Polo Mk5 to race in the SuperCar class; the photo above is racer Anton Marklund in his privateer Marklund Motorsports Polo at the 2013 X-Games round in Los Angeles.
Now it's official: Andretti Autosport will campaign the 2014 GRC season with VWs. That's all that's been said for now, Andretti being busy at the moment launching four entries for IndyCar, two for Indy Lights and two for Pro Mazda. We have a feeling we'll be seeing the MkVII Golf involved, but the cars and the driver lineup will be presented at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6.

Volkswagen profit jumps as it warns of a cooling auto market

Wed, Oct 30 2019

FRANKFURT, Germany — Volkswagen says its profits jumped 44% in the third quarter thanks to a more profitable mix of vehicles in its lineup but warned that global car markets are slowing more than expected and lowered its forecast for annual sales. After-tax profit rose to $4.42 billion (3.98 billion euros) as revenues rose 11% to $68.27 billion (61.42 billion euros). The sales margin of 7.8% exceeded the goal of 6.5-7.5% as vehicles bringing higher profits took a larger share of sales. The Wolfsburg-based automaker pointed to the headwinds facing the industry by saying that it expects "vehicle markets will contract faster than previously anticipated in many regions of the world." It said sales would be "on a level" with last year's record of 10.8 million vehicles. Previously it had expected a slight increase. The company said its profits would be in the lower end of its forecast range. Global automakers are facing a slowdown in sales amid disputes over trade and from pressure in the European Union and China to develop and sell low-emission vehicles that require heavy investment in new technology. Ford and Renault have issued profit warnings in recent days, while Daimler, maker of Mercedes-Benz luxury cars, lost money in the second quarter and is expected to outline a cost-cutting strategy for investors on Nov. 14. Volkswagen is leading the push into electric vehicles in Europe by launching its ID.3 battery-powered compact car at prices it says will make zero local emission vehicles a mass phenomenon. The company was able to increase earnings in the quarter despite an 18% rise in spending on research and development.

MindDrive cruises California with 1972 Karmann Ghia EV

Thu, Jun 26 2014

If you need a bit of inspirational EV goodness, spend some time watching the collection of videos we've got for you from Minddrive. Minddrive, as you might remember, is the education mentorship program that "uses real-world issues of our times to teach urban students critical thinking, creativity, entrepreneurship and how to improve their future by expanding their vision for themselves." The focus was on a fully restored 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Well, restored and converted to electric power. The students previously worked on the Lola EV but this year the focus was on a fully restored 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Well, restored and then converted to electric power. In early June, almost 50 Minddrive students and mentors flew from Kansas City to California to visit the epicenter of electric vehicles in the US on something called the "Raise Your Hand Tour." Filmmakers Mark Honer and Kelly Creech from DHTV Digital were along for the ride. The videos below show the students flying from to Oakland, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, presenting the Karmann Ghia at the California Academy of Sciences and then visiting the Monterey Bay EV Club, Google, Twitter and Telsa. All of this EV engagement apparently worked. One of the students, identified only as Xavier, wrote a poem and essay about what the electric vehicle project meant to him. Here's a tease: "Minddrive has honestly opened my eyes to sights and things I would have never thought possible. I have finally found the right path to follow." Read the whole thing below, after the videos. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. This content is hosted by a third party. Felt that my whole existence was around the weed blazing.
