1967 Tin Top Walk Through EZ Camper. Originally delivered to San Fransisco on February 24th 1967. I chose to do a preservation restoration on this van as it was in such good condition and I wanted to keep it as original as possible. This van spent its life in California and southern Oregon where I purchased it. Rebuilt 1600cc motor, rebuilt freeway flyer transmission. New front floor corners. Solid dry Californian survivor. Interior is in excellent condition and mostly original. Previous owner owned a VW shop so needless to say this van has been maintained, cared for and loved. Every thing works. Runs and drives like a new van.... I have the decoded M-Code plate information listed below. Motor/Transmission- Very low miles on rebuilt 1600cc motor, rebuilt carb, new battery, alternator, vac hoses, fuel lines, throttle cable. Engine bay is extremely clean. Aluminum finned oil pan, new heater boxes (heater works very good) new heater cables, voltage regulator, empi exhaust/muffler. Rebuilt free way flyer transmission, rebuilt reduction boxes. This van has just had a complete tune up. Paint/Body- One repaint over OG paint (pearl white L-87). Super strait body, perfect door and body gaps, no accidents or collisions. Sand blasted and painted bumpers and rims.Super solid and dry bus. Brand new front floor corners professionally installed. Solid dog legs, rear corners, gutters, cargo doors, front floors, cargo floor, jack points, inner rockers are perfect. No rust on undercarriage. Minimal rust on left and right lower rockers only. I inspected the nose closely after I pulled the kick panels out. Nose is solid with no rust or any collisions. Interior- Brand new front seat upholstery, Dash is perfect and uncut, brand new kick and door panels cut out of 1/8 inch birch wood and painted to the factory color, texture and finish. These panels are much better than the cheap fiber board door panels being sold on the samba and won't warp over time.... Most of the interior is completely original and in excellent condition as seen in the pics. The original wood headliner is absolutely perfect. The rear camping seat upholstery is in excellent condition. There is a tear on the lower back seat which I covered up with a nice blanket to keep it from getting worst. The original and hard to find spice rack/cupboard is in excellent condition. The interior paint is in great condition. I have the rare storm windows which install were the screens go. These are always missing and great to have if your camping or driving in colder climates. All electrical works perfect. All lights, dash lights, camp lights, fuel gauge ect, ect work as they should. No electrical issues what so ever. Meticulously maintained by previous owner. Other- New dual circuit master cylinder, new brake soft lines, new brakes, wheel cylinders, shoes, brand new left and right tie rod ends, alignment, newer tires, original jack and lug wrench, rare double pang storm windows, original m code plate and California state ID badge. Repacked wheel bearings all the way around. 1967 is the first year of 12 volt electrical system. Rare survivor Californian tin top walk through survivor. Many hours went into the preservation of the bus. This was a labor of love. Every thing is in excellent working. Every dash, dome, camping light ect works perfect. This camper is ready for cross country driving and or camping/traveling adventurers. All mechanical issues have been addressed down to the smallest detail.. Excellent investment quality VW Camper bus. I tried to list every thing but know I left out some things. Feel free to call any time with questions. **** I have the decoded M-Code information below **** I can have this bus shipped to your front door at whole sale cost I also can ship world wide ** Over 70 Additional pictures and information as well as other nice VW buses can be seen on my web site WESTCOASTSAMBA . Volkswagen E-Co-Motion Concept brings electric mobility to the commercial set
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Volkswagen sees a future where the bulk of the world's freight is moved into city centers by train, then offloaded onto a fleet of smaller, light-duty commercial vehicles for final delivery. Those vehicles could wind up looking something like the company's E-Co-Motion Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The EV features a modular underfloor drive unit comprised of a battery, motor and gearbox that can be paired with any number of cab and body configurations to suit a buyer's needs, from a refrigerated box to a standard flat bed.
The E-Co-Motion Concept features a rear-mounted electric motor with 113 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. A standard 20 kWh battery pack provides a driving range of up to 62 miles, while 30 kWh and 40 kWh packs could deliver 93 and 124 miles of travel, respectively. Check out the press release below for more information.

Skoda launching two new CNG-powered vehicles in Europe in June
Thu, May 29 2014Skoda's second- and third-ever production compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles aren't exactly speed burners, but they are efficient. The Czech automaker, which is owned by Volkswagen, will introduce its Octavia G-TEC and Octavia Combi G-TEC models to most of Europe next month. Skoda's first CNG model was the Citigo, which debuted in 2012. The Octavia models will have a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that will deliver about 109 horsepower. Quickness isn't these cars' virtue, as their 0-60 mile per hour acceleration time will be almost 11 seconds. But they can go as far as 826 miles on their tanks of gas and CNG, enough to go from Prague to Rome in one shot, in case anyone was curious. Or nuts. The move by Skoda makes sense, as the CNG market in Europe has long been far further along than it is on this side of the pond, where CNG has primarily been used to move delivery trucks, but it's now available in pickups form Chrysler, Ford and General Motors as well as passenger cars from Chevy and Honda. The Skoda Citigo has moved almost 2,000 units since its debut, with 1,300 vehicles sold last year alone. That car can go as far as 385 miles on CNG and gasoline combined, which is impressive but not quite as bladder busting as the Octavia models. Check out Skoda's press release below. SKODA continues its CNG offensive with the new SKODA Octavia G-TEC Launch of the new SKODA Octavia G-TEC and new Octavia Combi G-TEC in June First SKODA Octavia with natural gas drive as standard; 97 g CO2/km High-performance technology: bivalent turbo engine 1.4 TSI/81 kW The ultimate in fuel economy: up to 1,330 km with natural gas and petrol SKODA Citigo G-TEC has enjoyed market success since 2012; only 79 g CO2/km Natural gas is the environmentally-friendly, cost-effective alternative Mlada Boleslav, 19 May 2014 – Expanding its environmentally-friendly model range, SKODA is renewing its emphasis on compressed natural gas vehicles. The new SKODA Octavia G-TEC and the new SKODA Octavia Combi G-TEC will be given their market premiere in June. This will increase the brand's CNG range to three models. Since the end of 2012, the little natural gas-drive Citigo has been successfully touring the European markets. "With the new Octavia G-TEC and the Octavia Combi G-TEC, our model range is becoming even more environmentally-friendly," says Dr Frank Welsch, SKODA Board Member for Technical Development.
