ok so here is the story of this bus "Sweat Pea" when i bought her 3 years ago she was running great she was a pretty complete so 34 flip seat camper. My wife and I actually drove her 300miles to the beach and got engaged in this bus. :) She was my daily driver. But she was a RUST BUCKET!!! holes everywhere!!! So i watched as she melted before my eyes. I finally decided to get her painted. A friend of mine did incredible body work ... i have some of the old pics of her if you are interested ... you would not believe it is the same bus. He took 3 years to fabricate the metal and paint her (he worked really really slow on it) In the meantime he blew out his knee so working on the bus was no longer an option for him. So i am left with a giant puzzle. I am not a very good mechanic so i am trying to decide whether to continue on the road to restoring her or to just pass her to someone to continue the project.
So lets talk about the parts I have all the windows, the seals of course need replacing. The only broken window is the little side window on the driver side. i have all the original flip seat cushions they will need to be reupholstered. I have all the cabinets and the back middle seat. Again it was pretty complete just rotted out. So all the cabinets need to be re-done. My friend lined the inside of the bus with bed liner, the idea was to make it easy to hose out. She has not run in 3 years but i am confident that she can run again. She has the original gas heater in the engine compartment, I was always to scared to turn it on ;). I have all the flip seat brackets and the top sun roof was redone and painted. The front bumper did not get painted and a few areas of trim around the door need painting but i have paint left over and the formula for making it. Clear title. The tape was left on so i have been soaking it with goo-gone to try and slowly remove it without taking off paint. So if you have questions you can call me 210-247-7123 (i am a family doc so leave a message if i dont answer i get pretty busy sometimes) ok happy bidding Ill try to take some better pics these were with my iphone. any specific pis let me know -aurelio laing |

2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet
Thu, 07 Mar 2013The Golf VI's Last Hurrah Is Pure Niche
This was in the heart of the ultra-chic Côte d'Azur during winter. The car to be tested was the not-for-North America 2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet. Prevailing weather conditions here this time of year are bizarrely pleasant, as though a dome of Swarovski crystal has been placed over the entire region to protect it from any real winter spoiling things. And the zippy Golf R Cabriolet is a sports car designed precisely for this area's preciously narrow winding streets, as well as for the lofty budgets of its property owners.
So then why was it snowing like we were in northern Michigan? The weather front hit from the north like a swift kick to the Jordaches. The roof was open on this Candy White Golf R Cabrio and I, as is my wont, was determined through thick or thin to keep it retracted. It had been raining and sometimes sleeting like the End of Days, but I kept the lid cracked because the 261-horsepower cabrio - the most powerful convertible ever built by Volkswagen - was snipping along nicely as the bad weather blew over my head and wetted only the rear headrests.
VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.
The best cars we drove this year
Tue, Dec 30 2014Six hundred and fifty. That's roughly how many cars pass through the hands of Autoblog editors every year, from the vehicles we test here at home, to the cars we drive on new product launches, testing roundups, long-term cars, and so on. Of course, our individual numbers vary due to several reasons, but at the end of the day, our team's repertoire of automotive experience is indeed vast. But let's be honest, some cars certainly stand out more than others. So as the year's about to turn, and as we're readying brand-new daily cat calendars for our cubicles, our editors are all taking time to reflect on the machinery that made this year so special, with one simple, open-ended question as the guide – a question that we're asked quite frequently, from friends, family, colleagues, and more. "What's the best car you drove this year?" Lamborghini Huracan When I review the list of everything I drove in 2014, picking an absolute favorite becomes almost impossible. I mean, how does one delineate between the joy offered by cars as different as the Alfa Romeo 4C, Volkswagen Golf R, Mercedes-AMG GT S and even the humble-yet-wonderful Chevy Colorado? Okay fine, I'll just pick the Lamborghini. I drove the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 on a racetrack, in the mountains, and along southern coast of Spain. It felt like the king of the car jungle in all of those places, sucking the eyeballs of observers nearly out of their heads as it drove by, and almost melting my brain with its cocktail of speed and grip and intense communication. It feels a little easy to say that the one new supercar I drove this year was also my favorite, but the fact is that the Huracan is one of the finest cars I've driven during my career, let alone 2014. Judge me if you must. – Seyth Miersma Senior Editor Rolls-Royce Wraith There are a couple of ways to look at the question, "What's the best car you drove this year?" In terms of what was so good I'd go out and buy one tomorrow, that'd be my all-time sweetheart, the Volkswagen GTI. Or if I'm just talking about sheer cool-factor, maybe something like the Galpin GTR1, BMW i8, or Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. But instead, I'm going to write about the sheer opulence of being the best of the best. The hand-crafted, holier-than-thou, shut-your-mouth-when-I'm-talking-to-you supremacy. I'm picking the Rolls-Royce Wraith. I drove the Wraith for a week in April, and was really, really impressed. This car does everything, perfectly.
