If you're looking for a fuel efficient, reliable & still sporty looking vehicle, don't pass up this 2006 Volkswagen Beetle-New TDI (Turbo Diesel) with Automatic Transmission. These are very hard to come by and get awesome fuel mileage. This vehicle has a red exterior with black interior. This vehicle is fully loaded with power sunroof, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, dual heated leather front seats, Monsoon AM/FM/CD stereo system, cruise control, flower vase, and foldable rear bench seat. It also has the HomeLink Universal Transmitter which is a feature located on the drivers sun visor that can be used to program the settings of three different remote controls such as an automatic garage door opener, gate opener, or home safety alarm. The interior mirror is self dimming from day to night. There is a rear window defogger. There is also an auxiliary input jack to plug in mp3 players, Ipod's, etc. It also comes with sporty alloy wheels, front and side airbags, 4 wheel anti-locking brakes. This car also has Tiptronic option, which allows drivers to shift manually if they please. On the gear shifter, drivers may also choose to drive in the "Sport" position, which allows the forward gears to shift at a higher engine speed. This vehicle will come with the original owner's manual. I also just had the engine oil & filter, as well as the fuel filter changed by a certified Volkswagen dealer, with documentation to prove so. This is a $200 value. The tires also have plenty of tread on them. Please note the buyer will be responsible for paying vehicle tag/registration fees and 6.5 % Florida sales tax. If you are not a State of Florida buyer, you can register and pay the applicable taxes in your own home state. The buyer is also responsible for picking the vehicle up as I cannot arrange for shipping. VW LogBox and Race App performance data logger for R models [w/video]
Tue, Dec 30 2014Now that it's got a 300-horsepower Golf R to brag about, Volkswagen wants you to be able to brag about it accurately with the LogBox and Race App performance data logging combo. Plug the LogBox into your VW's OBD II port and it sends data over BlueTooth to the Race App, measuring variables like acceleration, distance, G-force and engine performance. If you're on a circuit, it uses Google Maps to make a map of the track, and you can record live video in-app to match with the data. Volkswagen says the LogBox will be available for R models and "a range of further Volkswagen cars," so you'll want to hit up your dealer with questions before ordering. It's available from the VW accessories store for 299 euros ($365 US), but right now the free app is only available in German, in the German-language iTunes and Google Play store. VW confirms development of 10-speed dual clutch, 134-hp/liter diesel
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Each year, the Vienna International Motor Symposium showcases some of the up-and-coming technologies automakers are engineering for the use in passenger cars, and Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn revealed some big developments VW is working on for its future products. Winterkorn discussed a multi-faceted approach that VW is looking to reduce its fleet fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Some of the bigger news he discussed included a "high-performance" diesel engine that will produce 134 horsepower per liter and a 10-speed DSG automatic transmission. While no specific applications were mentioned, we can only hope this is for the Audi R4 we keep hearing about.
Another topic he touched on that caused us to perk up our ears was had to do with VW's plug-in hybrid technology. While we know the PHEV versions of the Audi A3 and Porsche Panamera are on the way, Winterkorn also said that these two models will be followed up by Golf, Passat, Audi A6 and Porsche Cayenne plug-in models. Volkswagen Golf R Variant ready to haul ass, stuff
Thu, Nov 20 2014Volkswagen seems to be playing a cruel trick on the American automotive public at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It's displaying its sexy Golf R Variant with no clear intention of actually selling the model here. The hot wagon launches in Europe in the spring, but the automaker makes absolutely no mention of the model's prospects in the US. Hopefully, its appearance in LA at least indicates VW is considering bringing it stateside. The great thing about this wagon is that it has everything that the regular Golf R offers, but there's even more room to carry stuff. The same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 296 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive. Performance is very close, too, with the Variant R taking 5.1 seconds to get to 62 miles per hour versus the 4.9 seconds the standard R needs to read 60 mph. The two of them also have the same tech goodies like ESC Sport stability control and multiple damping modes. The real advantage to opting for the estate is its ability to carry up to 57.2 cubic feet of cargo in the back. This hot rod wagon would seem to be perfect for the family that needs to haul some extra junk in the trunk, but doesn't want to sacrifice performance. Whether the Variant R makes it to the US remains a mystery, though. Scroll down to read the specs and feel a twinge of jealousy.
