For sale we have a 2006 Volkswagen New Beetle TDI with the Package 1. This beetle was just traded in at the subaru dealer for a newer car. The car has a clean carfax report with no accidents. The car runs and drives like NEW! It is very clean and very well maintained. The car features the reliable 1.9L L4 FI TDI Turbo DIESEL engine. Motor fires right up no matter how cold it is and it sounds super healthy. Turbocharger spools up as it should with plenty of power and torque and getting over 40 mpg! The timing belt was installed on 4-3-11 or 121-K according to the sticker on the timing cover, no receipts. The 6 speed automatic tranny shifts like butter thru out all the gears. Also the Tip-Tronic mode works like it should. The outside body of the car is clean and well kept for its miles. The interior has the PKG1 trim so it has all the options such as leather heated seats, sun-roof, 6 cd changer, power windows, door locks, a/c, warm heat, cruise control, 3 keys and so on. Interior is clean as well. Front tires are in good shape with plenty of tread, rear ones are in fair condition. Very small clear coat spots have been pealing off in front bumper but nothing major. Over all this is a healthy running beetle that's been well cared after. Fly down and drive this beauty anywhere with no worries at all. Temporary Transit Tags are available through the state of CT for $95, which will provide valid registration for a period of 30 days. In order to obtain this tag, please provide proof of insurance for any vehicle that you presently own.

Titles are available to the buyer immediately upon full irrevocable payment, which is performed by bank wire transfer, cash in person, or certified personal check. Otherwise, the title will be sent to you after your payments have cleared our bank. Occasionally, a title is still being processed by the state and we will issue free temporary registration until the title is received.

All vehicles we sell on eBay are stored in a separate secured facility and we require that all vehicles be picked up within ten days of auction completion.

1000-hp Mk1 VW Golf is terrifyingly cool

There are plenty of things to love about the Mk1 Volkswgen Golf. The machine's horsepower isn't one of them. From the factory, the little hatch cranked a breathy 112 horsepower from the most robust form of its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Boba motoring, however, has taken that figure and multiplied it by a factor of nearly 10. If 1,000 horsepower sounds terrifying in a machine with a wheelbase of just 94.5 inches, it should. A massive Garrett GTX4202R turbo force-feeds the little mill through a tweaked 16-valve KR head. The crew calls the beast the 16Vampir, and we think that's fitting.
Of course, we'd wager you quit reading right about the time you set your eyes on that headline. Those of you who've stuck around this long can point yourselves below to see the maniacal creation in action. You won't be disappointed.

Rimac is reportedly close to buying Bugatti from the Volkswagen Group

Croatia-based Rimac is finalizing a deal to purchase Bugatti from the Volkswagen Group, according to an unverified report. If the rumor is accurate, the sale would propel Rimac to the top of the automotive industry, guarantee that Bugatti's future is electric, and mark the beginning of Volkswagen's efforts to divest its empire. Executives in Wolfsburg gave the deal the green light in September 2020, according to anonymous sources who spoke to British magazine Car, but the company's supervisory board hasn't approved it yet. Selling the French company isn't as simple as sending company founder Mate Rimac an email with an account number. Insiders explained Volkswagen would likely trade Bugatti and all of its assets for a significant stake in Rimac that would be transferred directly to Porsche, which already owns 15.5% of the brand. Officials hope to increase that figure to about 49%, meaning Bugatti is theoretically worth about 33.5% of Rimac, which was founded in 2009. Bugatti told Autoblog it can't comment on speculation. Mate Rimac gave us a similar answer. Rumors of a Bugatti sale have hovered around the automotive industry for several years, and they've never materialized. In theory, spinning off the brand would be relatively easy because it's not as deeply integrated into the Volkswagen Group as its sister companies. It doesn't share its W16 engine with another carmaker, for example. And yet, Car speculates Lamborghini, SEAT, ItalDesign, Bentley, and Ducati will also be sold in the coming years, leaving Volkswagen with its namesake division, Skoda, Audi, Porsche, Scania, and MAN. Volkswagen is having an estate sale to fund the development of electric, autonomous, and digital technologies. Its downsizing will send ripples through the auto industry. Porsche could move upmarket if it doesn't have to worry about stepping on Lamborghini's toes, for example. Spinoffs are always risky, so some companies may not survive if they're not bolstered by economies of scale. As of writing, there's no word on who will pick up the brands being divested under this scenario. And, keep in mind none of this is official. Volkswagen hasn't commented on the report. We'll update this developing story as more information becomes available.
