This is an original Sun Beetle, from the year that VW was trying to draw attention back to the Bug! It has a fully working sunroof that does not leak, with original crank handle. Moldings are aged but fine and there are no leaks around the windows or doors. That being said, this has been a garage kept baby for five years, and the engine is in wonderful working order. The 4 cylinder manual engine cranks every time, and runs well. There is no engine hesitation while sitting idle or running down the road. It needs a steering column tune up. Vintage VW has been it's doctor. You can call for any questions: 706-253-0338. The interior seating, carpets and headliner are all in great condition. It has a striking interior look. Cosmetically it needs new clips to hold up the visors, and a new lock on the glove box. Trunk needs a new opening latch. Paint job is nice, could use some touch ups on small nicks. All lights and blinkers are in great working order. Radio and horn need rewiring. This Beetle has been driven weekly and could easily be a daily driver. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer, and all monies will be done through bank transfer. There is no warranty on this vehicle. Any further questions feel free to contact by email.

Tanner Foust checks out his new VW Beetle GRC rally car
Thu, 11 Sep 2014Racing driver and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is a very busy guy. After all, he's competing in rounds of both Global Rallycross series and FIA World Rallycross Championship, not to mention his TV duties. However, we probably shouldn't feel too sorry for him, because his job puts him behind the wheel of some truly crazy machinery.
Case in point is his latest ride in Global Rallycross - the Volkswagen Beetle GRC. The German company claims that this all-wheel drive Bug makes around 540 horsepower from its 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and can shoot to 60 in under 2 seconds. Plus, if this video is any indication, this Volkswagen sounds like a machine gun when throwing revs at idle, and it can do some wonderfully easy four-wheel drifts.
Previously, Foust was driving a VW Polo for Andretti Autosport in GRC, but the team unveiled the look of the Beetle GRC at the Chicago Auto Show. Now, Foust is finally getting to show off his new office to the public, and like VW's tagline for the new car claims, it's way hotter than Herbie.

VW updates Scirocco with revised styling, new engines
Sun, 16 Feb 2014The Scirocco is undoubtedly one of the better-looking models in the Volkswagen lineup, but introduced back in 2008, it's now been on the market - some markets, anyway - for the better part of six years. VW is said to have an all-new replacement in the works, but before that arrives, the German automaker has announced a facelifted version with revised styling and a new engine lineup.
Set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the new Scirocco benefits from updated styling front and rear, high-tech exterior lighting, a revised cabin space with some throwback retro touches, some new technologies and, of course, an array of fresh wheel options ranging from 17 to 19 inches.
The updated Scirocco will be offered with a wide array of engines right from the get-go, including four gasoline options and two diesels, spanning from 125 horsepower all the way up to the 280-hp Scirocco R. The 2014 model hits European showrooms in August, but unfortunately isn't any more likely to make the transatlantic voyage Stateside than the version it replaces. Still interested? There's plenty to see in the high-res image gallery above and details in the press release below.
