ENJOY LIFE! Drive a classic VW Beetle! Up for NO RESERVE AUCTION is this really nice 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. Standard beetle, not a Super, so there’s no front-end shimmy. If you have ever owned or driven one of these cool little cars you know how much fun they are. Just running errands around town is fun, all the thumbs up and smiles you get are really neat. This car received a complete restoration about ten years ago, including all new pans and interior. It has been well taken care of since, but it does show its age a little. The paint is a beautiful creamy white with gold fenders. The gold has faded a bit but still looks good all shined up. One whoopsy-daisy on the right rear fender where a baseball hit it, but other than that the body is nice and straight. The polished Minilite wheels really make this car stand out in a crowd! The motor was rebuilt three years ago and has just received a full tune-up; doesn’t use or leak oil. Runs and drives very well, cruises at freeway speeds just fine. Also has a great sound system. Clear California title, smog exempt. This would make a perfect daily driver, or stash it away for the weekend. What else can you buy in this price range with the history and reliability of a Beetle?? Perfect for that special student, or as a great first car. NO RESERVE AUCTION!! This means someone will get this cool little car. I’ll ship anywhere in the world at buyer’s expense; I can help you with shipping arrangements if you need. Available for inspection any time during the auction by appointment. Please keep in mind that you are bidding to buy, all inspections must be done before the end of auction. Full payment is due three days after the end of the auction and I don’t take PayPal. E-mail, or call or text me anytime at 831-383-2499 with questions. GOOD LUCK and HAPPY BIDDING!! |

Volkswagen Cross Up! aimed at rugged lifestyle folks, complete with plastic cladding
Wed, 06 Mar 2013If you thought there was nothing wrong with the Volkswagen Up! that a little body cladding wouldn't fix, you're in luck. VW has officially pulled the wraps off the production version of the Cross Up!, and its wheel arches and rocker panels are full of the black plastic cladding you've been yearning for.
In addition to the "particularly rugged design and tough, lifestyle qualities" that the cladding exudes, VeeDub has also seen fit to put its Cross Up! on a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels clad in 185/50-series tires. Inside, there are new kick plates to go along with a dash pad that can be had in red, black or silver.
All that cladding must equal additional off-road readiness, right? Well, sure... just so long as you're fine with the same 75-horsepower three-cylinder engine that all other Up! models also feature, along with a five-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels, again, just like all other Up! models. The Cross Up! appears to have a taller ride height than other models, but we haven't been able to find out what - if any - changes have been made.
10 best new car deals in late September 2021
Wed, Sep 29 2021New car sales were drastically affected in 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but things started to show signs of recovery toward the end of the year before really coming on strong in the early months of 2021. Now there's an ongoing shortage of microchips causing a great deal of pricing fluctuation and a limited supply of certain vehicles. That doesn't mean there aren't still great deals on new cars, though. Using data provided by TrueCar, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best automotive deals for September 2021. WeÂ’ve noted the original MSRP, the average transaction price, and the total savings in both dollars and as a percentage of the original sticker price. Basically, weÂ’ve done all the hard work for you! So now, all you need to do is compare deals, go on a few test drives, and maybe drive away in a great car (and an even better bargain).
eBay Find of the Day: Unrestored Herbie Love Bug movie car
Wed, Dec 10 2014Well before Cars ever hit the screens, The Love Bug series of Disney films – starring Herbie the VW Beetle with a mind of its own – was an early introduction to cars and racing for many budding auto fans. Not the modern remake starring Lindsay Lohan mind you, but the originals from the '60s and '70s. Now, a seller in Texas claims to be offering a chance to own one of the Bugs from the films on eBay Motors. According to the auction, this Beetle didn't appear in the original film but was built for the sequel Herbie Rides Again in 1972 and also appeared in the third installment Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo. This VW was prepared as the blind-drive car for the movies that attached a low-mounted chair in the back and extended controls to let Herbie look like he was driving himself. Although, some of the photos here show the Bug with regular seats fitted, too. This Herbie was reportedly found in a Florida warehouse a few years ago. It was then made operable, while trying to keep it as original as possible. The exterior underwent a slight restoration with input from former Disney special effects staff, according to the seller. The changes added new graphics and rebuilt the blind drive setup. Judging by these pictures, the rest of the interior was left mostly untouched, though. Of course, anyone interested in buying a movie car is going to want proof of its authenticity. The seller claims to have the original California title showing the buyer as Disney in 1972. The Bug also reportedly has a unique rear decklid that mixes early and later parts to help identify it in the film. As of this writing, bidding for Herbie sits at $55,100 with 82 bids and a reserve not yet met. The sale closes on Saturday, December 13.
