1960 Beetle Lots Of Patina on 2040-cars
Salina, Kansas, United States
This is a clean car. I have gone through the car rebuilt the motor, updated trans mounts and heater cables. Heater channels, pans, aprons, and body are all solid. There is one hole in front of each rear tire smaller then a half dollar. There is a small amount of rust on the drivers side of the car under the engine shelf. I have the panels to repair both sides if you choose to but I also bought both for the rear bumper brackets as the previous owners jacked up the brackets. The bumpers are on the car but aren't real solid due to the brackets being jacked up. The car is lowered about 4" with a new adjustable beam bought brand new to keep the integrity of the Original beam. It is narrowed 5" and is fully adjustable. I bought 3" dropped spring plates for the rear. What they do is use the factory mounts and maintains factory suspension ride quality. I have the Original spring plates that go with car so the next owner can raise the car back to stock height if they desire. I found the car will need inner and outer wheel bearings on the front wheels and new drums on all four corners. Car has newer tires on all fours. Front tires are 155/60-15 and the rears have 175/55-15s. The car is a daily it just needs the bearings to keep it on the road. Buyers are responsible to make arrangements for pick up with me either in person or if you are having the car shipped to you you will make shipping arrangements. Contact me by email to get the cars location. If you would like more info on the car email me through PayPal your number and we can correspond through phone call or text. I can also send you pics this way. Also I will give you time to make arrangements for payment and pickup. If a week or so goes by with no correspondence after the auction and you have made the deposit I will assume you're no longer interested in the car and I will repost. |

2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR is black and yellow, black and yellow
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Way back in 1973, Volkswagen decided it was high time to take the loveable air-cooled Bug racing. No, it wasn't painted in Herbie colors - Volkswagen called its sport-tuned machine the Beetle GSR, "Gelb Schwarzer Renner" or "Yellow Black Racer." Hence, the somewhat shocking paint scheme.
VW is bringing its sporty black and yellow Beetle back for 2014, and you can see live photos of it above. It's got a 210-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood (that'd be the hood up front, unlike the car's forebear), and a six-speed manual or DSG automatic transmission sends those ponies to the front wheels. Note that this car's output is up 10 horses on other turbo VWs, and the Jetta GLI and Beetle Turbo for 2013. The 0-60 run takes 6.6 seconds, and top speed is limited to 130 miles per hour.
Besides the in-your-face black and yellow paint, the GSR is outfitted with a large rear spoiler and 19-inch wheels shod with 235/40 tires. The bee-like hue carries over inside, with yellow stitching on black leather. Only 3,500 will be produced, each with its own unique plaque. Pricing has not yet been announced, but you're free to read through the press release below all the same.

J.D. Power customer survey of dealers counts Cadillac, Buick as big winners
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Cadillac and Buick have taken the trophies in J.D. Power's latest Customer Service Index Study examining satisfaction with dealer service. Surveying more than 90,000 owners and lessees of 2009-2013 model-year cars, the study found that those with pre-paid maintenance packages were ten percent more likely to buy their next car from the same brand.
Dealer satisfaction scores have improved overall, Cadillac nabbed the luxury segment ahead of Audi and Lexus, taking the crown that Lexus held last year. Buick keeps the mass-market dealer satisfaction win in the family, finishing ahead of Volkswagen and last year's winner GMC. The study also found that service department use of tablets increased customer satisfaction, as did "best practices" like "providing helpful advice." Who knew?
You can find details on those and more findings in the press release below.
