This bug is a 1957 oval window that is sitting on a titled 1961 pan,and the 1961 title is what its registered under.I have a notarized affidavit in lieu of title that you can have or wait for 21 days for new paperwork your choice, both ways you will have no problems.the pan is very very nice and all new down to the nuts and bolts!lots spent on the pan! new narrowed dropped adjustable beam with new disk brakes, entire new brake system and lines, new roller pedal assembly .also has a nice air bag cross member installed, i think airkiewald airbag kit but im not exactly shur. all new axle tubes seals bolts and tranny has been inspected and reassembled .Motor is a 1600 single port from a 1968 bug and has oil filter and alternator ,motor runs great.Body has extremely little rust!ive only seen a small rust spot on the lower front bulk head. there is the trim not installed and new seals not installed,i have nice snowflakes and a non w deck-lid but it does have the pope nose. There is a REALLY cool roof rack and a working air bag set up but i think the torsions need removed to work a 100% so at this point it can easily go back to a more stock stance or it can lay frame!!The things i would do are to relocate the air tank under the hood and re run lines and the wiring needs cleaned up or replaced with a new harness .Other than that she is a driver and as of now i drive around my neighborhood with it.Car is sold as-is and ask questions if not shur please.I will help on my end with shipping of course but buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and cost,500 due immediately please thank you

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
Volkswagen's latest ad is not subtle | Autoblog Podcast #509
Fri, Mar 24 2017On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are joined by special guest James Riswick, who has been driving a lot of new cars lately. All of them are discussed, plus a few more from Mike and David, and Mike rants a bit about a new VW Atlas commercial. The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, during which David briefly goes out into left field. (He's back now, don't worry.) The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. VW announces recall of 26,000 2014 models with 1.8T engines
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Volkswagen has followed up on a stop-sale order from earlier this month, announcing a voluntarily recall of 26,400 vehicles that are powered by the brand's 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The new mill replaced the despised 2.5-liter five-cylinder in the Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible last year. Weirdly, though, of the 26,452 units covered in the recall, only 1,655 are customer vehicles.
According to VW, the affected models were built between February 1 and April 6 of this year, and feature bad O-ring seals in the transmission oil cooler. Apparently, the faulty O-rings could cause a fluid leak, as they won't seal between the oil cooler and transmission. VW is blaming a material change from a supplier for the problem.
There have been no fires, injuries, accidents or fatalities relating to this issue, which VW will be fixing free of charge. Customers will need to report to dealers to have the O-rings replaced.
