OK! Here we have a 1962 vw bug I bought that I was going to restore but realized I do not have the time to do so I am going to offer it to someone else that is up to the challenge. To start off this is in deed a project but a very easy one. Ya I know that's what they all say??LOL.. Well this one is true. I bought this bug from a guy that did most of the hard work already. All brakes including wheel cylinders emergency cables steel lines and flex lines have been done. New front and rear apron were replaced and welded in. The bug is all original so yes it is a 6 volt system and is all numbers matching engine, body, pan, original radio that works and un cut dash,.pans are original and in good solid condition, Heater channels are excellent and some of the metal up where your feet go have been cut out and replacement panels are welded in. Engine runs great when I bought it 3 months ago. The interior is original including door panels and are in very nice clean condition they do not need to be replaced. I have all the windows and they are in great condition no cracks or chips. I am also including $1500 in brand new parts. I have every part needed and then some to complete this project.. The bug was appraised for $5000 back in 2012 and is included with the sale along with a lot of documention. I will also include a brand new tow bar so you can tow it home. The wheels were professionally powder coated and the tires are very good. There is so much to list that I cannot think of everything right now but if you have any questions please fell free to email or call me at (905)325-6716. The first of the picture shows the state it is in now. The other pictures at the bottom show what it looked like before the restoration was started and appraised at $5000.00. I did not do the work on it nor did I take it apart but it had to be done so it could get repainted. I have everything bagged and in boxes with some spares so you will be getting a lot of stuff. The front and rear bumpers are original and in very nice condition including chrome. again I know I am missing a lot here but if you have any questions please feel free to email or call or text this number (905)325-6716 thanks and good luck..A $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF END OF AUCTION BY PAY PAL!! NO EXCEPTIONS!! IF NOT PLEASE DO NOT BID!! The rest in cash on pick up. I can store it for 2 weeks.Buyer pays and makes own arrangments for pick up. I will help to load it if needed but can be towed home by new tow bar I will include.

Pontiac Aztek enjoys rebirth thanks to Millennials

Fri, Sep 11 2015

Apparently, Millennials – those between 18 and 34 – aren't afraid to look different on the road, and they like performance, too. A new study by Edmunds is discovering some surprising vehicle choices by this group. Among them, the long-derided Pontiac Aztek is getting a new day in the sun with 25.5 percent its buyers coming from this generation in the first half of 2015. For comparison, Millennials represent an average of 16.8 percent of used car purchases. The Aztek is slowly shaking its reputation as a styling abomination, which seems tied to its appearance on Breaking Bad. The show premiered in 2008, and the Pontiac has been on this list for four of the past five years, according to Edmunds. It even led the pack in 2010. A recent Retro Review from MotorWeek also showed that the crossover wasn't always so hated. While it's still a shock to see the Aztek on any popularity list, the awkward-looking crossover only ranks sixth among Millennials. The vehicle with the biggest portion of buyers from the generation is the Dodge Magnum with 27.6 percent. According to Edmunds, the bluntly styled wagon is especially popular in Detroit and Chicago. The Chrysler Pacifica comes in a close second at 27.3 percent. When it comes to used cars, value and utility appear to trump just about anything else for many Millennial buyers," Edmunds analyst Jeremy Acevedo said in the report. Young buyers aren't afraid of sporty rides, either. The Subaru WRX has 26.4 percent Millennial buyers to rank third place on the list, and the Volkswagen R32 takes fifth at 25.7 percent. Just a few points lower in seventh place is the Nissan GT-R at 25.4 percent, and the final performance machine in 10th place is the Lexus IS-F with 24.7 percent. Related Video:

Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki

Tue, 02 Oct 2012

Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.

Volkswagen iBeetle gets integrated iPhone dock, little else

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Apple fans have been itching to see the tech giant flex the full muscle of its iOS operating system in an automotive infotainment system for years, which is why we turned all sorts of excited when we caught wind of the Volkswagen iBeetle. The machine is headed to the Shanghai Motor Show for a debut, and VW promised it would be one of the "first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple." Listen closely, and you can hear the contented sigh of a million wallets opening.
Go ahead and close those up, kids.
In reality, the iBeetle offers little more than a dash-mounted dock and a special app that shows a few vehicle functions, which is about as far from an infotainment revolution as you're likely to find. In fact, the setup is little more than a factory rehash of aftermarket items, and hardly worth a whole model debut at an international motor show. And that's to say nothing of the fact that Apple relishes in changing the shape and form of its darling handheld at every generation. Volkswagen better be prepared to keep pace with appropriate docking mechanisms for the upcoming iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, et al.
