Triumph Spitfire Parts Car 1971 on 2040-cars
Bloomingburg, Ohio, United States
1971 Triumph Spitfire parts car. NO TITLE. Floors have been repaired by a previous owner over all though the body doesn't look bad. Frame looks to be solid. The suspension steering and brakes are all there. Has a gas tank and the factory chrome lid is in very good condition. The trunk lid has some rust on the bottom right corner. The doors are nice and the windows roll up and down nicely. The bonnet has some rust starting on the under side front edge. The engine starts and will idle but the carb needs cleaned I think to get it running strong. It runs very smooth...no strange noises...starts easily. Trany is there and is not locked up...it can shift into all the gears....the cars brake master cylinder has been removed so I have not "driven" it but I'm sure it will drive.
It has a factory exhaust on it which is quiet. NO interior. Windshield is good as are both door glasses. The bumpers are OK chrome is not perfect, a few dings here and there on them..look decent from a distance. It has the factory hard top...the glass is out but it comes with the glass. No soft top or frame. The car has a new electric fuel pump, new starter solinoid and battery. Starts with a key the ignition switch works. The turn signal stalk is broken...has one lever on it...on the right side. The clutch master cylinder has been rebuilt so I was told by the previous owner. Has a a clutch slave cylinder and a clutch in it but I have not tested either. Looks like it should work though. Has some gauges (vintage speedo and tach) and the dash wiring is there as is the rear wiring, engine wiring and bonnet wiring. The wheels are in real nice condition but some of the beauty rings are dinged the tires are in VGC. I had to select salvage as a title choice but I bought the car with a bill of sale and will sell it with a bill of sale...as a parts car. The person I bought if from said his dad bought the car years ago in Alabama and at that time they did not do titles...? I don't know about all that but that's what he told me and some states do that...it's a parts car so I didnt care if only had a bill of sale. I can assist with loading...but it is the buyers task to arrange shipping or pickup. Buyers are welcome and encouraged to come see the car just ask and we can make arrangements. I have tried to explain what the car is...and again it is a parts car...it runs and could be made to drive fairly easy IMO but it's really for the buyer that might need a drive train and other parts for their vintage Spitfire.I ran out of daylight and could not get floor pics but I will post more pics of the car or you can request what pics you'd like me to send you via an Ebay message. If you have questions please ask before you bid. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is advertised locally. I will only end the auction should someone come buy it locally. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
