Spitfire / Gt6 on 2040-cars
Blackwood, New Jersey, United States
Great running - Great looking 1964 Spitfire / GT6.
This is a rare combined car: 1964 Spitfire body - GT6 motor & rear (rotoflex) The Ford 5 Speed gearbox has been installed , & makes this a great highway car. I've added the picture of me driving at 70mph. It shows the car still running cool @ about 3000rpm. You can chirp the tires in first & second! The car has been serviced & checked to mechanically sound by my local garage. Engine , transmission , steering & brakes all working as they should. All fluids have been changed on schedule. Oil/Coolant etc... Whats new on the car: Racing intake (3) Stromberg carbs, Springs/shocks - (all around) , Dashpad - (original tooling) , tires & wheels , oil cooler , brakes - (all around), electronic ignition, pioneer stereo, Whats original & works & looks great: All the gauges , Steering wheel , seats & carpet, trunk , Whats not so great : The paint was done by the previous owner. Its too nice to strip down & re-paint , but not show condition. However , the body is rust free. I have pictures from when I re did the interior. The horn doesn't work ( just wiring ) , same with the high beams - its all there , I just never bother to connect. The car has been maturely owned & I'll be happy to answer any questions. Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
