1979 Triumph Spitfire Base Convertible 2-door 1.5l on 2040-cars
El Cerrito, California, United States
Very well sorted, rust free 1979 Triumph Spitfire. I am second owner. First owner spent considerable time and money on mechanicals (engine and compartment) and electricals. I had the body taken down to bare metal; fixed every little ding; removed all rust (inside and out); added Rustmort; painted w epoxy based primer; skim coat of bond to make her real straight; sanded down smooth after two guide coats; removed all glass and replaced after paint w new gaskets; painted brilliant red (stock color) w several coats of clear; wet sanded w 2000 grit; orange peel knocked down; buffed and polished; very good finish ! Did the same to factory metal top; completely redone. Interior redone: rotted wood dash pieces replaced; new switches that work for electricals (prior owner totally rewired car); houndstooth beige seat covers and new foam installed; new visors and dash overlay; new door panels in beige, rear cockpit and wheel arch panels in beige installed; black carpet mats; complete trunk panel kit. Brakes totally redone. Many other new parts with receipts. Car was converted to earlier small bumpers (massive rubber bumpers removed); chrome blacked out in satin paint. Fog lamps added inside front bumper. Wheels redone in nice matching color; wear new tires. Car slightly "raked" forward so steers great ( redone front coil overs allow height adjustment) has perfect stance. Receipts and CD w pics of build available to successful bidder. This is an exceptional Spitfire that needs very little; great paint; solid mechanicals; a very fun car to drive ! No warranty implied or offered; this is a used car that you will be buying as is. Very nice British Classic.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
