Honestly it hurts even thinking about selling this, as I've fallen in love with this car, spent hours working on it, and have even knighted it, "Sir Kermit." Over $13,000 have been put into this vehicle over the last few years and now I'm headed to medical school and can no longer use it as my daily driver. I'm only interested in selling this vehicle to someone who has a love for these cars and has the time to thoroughly enjoy the work that has been put into it. This is truly a beautiful classic vehicle that is guaranteed to turn heads and provide years of enjoyment. The car has 67,290 ORIGINAL miles, was previously a Utah vehicle, but is now California smoked and registered until May 20157y, completely RUST FREE, and has been garaged its entire life, it has never been in an accident or been driven by a smoker. All of the most recent service records are available as well as the California Smog Certification. Serious buyers only.

Since most of you will most likely purchase this vehicle without the opportunity to see it or drive it in person here is your "virtual test-drive" in the most upfront and honest way I can deliver it:

  • Sit down and notice the race car-low feeling (seats are quite comfortable) you'l notice the old-fashioned instrument panel that makes you feel like you're in an old wooden boat or airplane
  • Don't forget sunglasses!
  • On a colder day it will take a bit of choke and just a few turns of the key to get Sir Kermit purring, on a warm day he'll start right up, and after about 30 seconds will idol quite comfortably at around 800 rpm
  • Of course you're going to need some music to cruise with, and with the original radio still in place I recommend you find your station before you drive off!
  • Place your hand on the old-fashioned wooden gear shifter, smile and you're off!
  • You'll quickly shift into 2nd gear, hit 3rd gear at about 25 mph, and accelerate until about 40 or 50 mph where you'll shift into 4th sit back and enjoy the go cart handling.
  • This car is tiny and very low to the ground so it handles great around the corners and the open air makes you feel like you're going 100 when you're probably only topping out at around 70.
  • The brakes are probably the biggest weakness of the car but do their job well enough, shift down to 3rd and your brakes will do the rest quite easily.
  • At stoplights prepare to lower your radio so you can converse with the drivers next to you, as they will quickly want to know if you're driving an old Porsche, or an Alfa Romeo? In 30 seconds you'll have to be able to explain the Triumph brand and its British Heritage.
  • When you arrive at your destination, put the car in first remove the keys, and attempt to walk away from the car without turning around and giving it one more look (it's hard not to do).

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
