1978 Triumph Spitfire Base Convertible 2-door 1.5l on 2040-cars
Burns, Kansas, United States
This is not a concours car, it is a daily driver that looks really good. There are a few small imperfections in the body work (but you do have to look close to find them). The paint is only a year old. The car body was removed from the frame so that both could be painted to match. The floor boards were recodintioned and sealed for protection. New carpet was installed. The dash is original and in good condion (no cracks). All of the glass is in tact although the windshield is starting to show signs of age in the lower corners. the side windows work and do the winshield wipers. All of the electrical works; radio, lights (interior and exterior), heater works very well (especially when you have the hard top on for the winter). Tires are 70%. Soft top is very good (does have one small cut on passenger side (this is were the tops frame pinched the soft while being folded down). This tear does not leak and it was sealed with fabric sealer. This car will be sold with the following items; soft top boot; tannaue cover, original tool kit, spare tire and cover, roll bar (this is for show and not for racing), newly painte dhard top with canvas liner(liner has never been installed but I do have all of the bows and a brand new liner). Modifications to the car: newre style radio/cd player w/ four speaker; Monza exhaust and matching header; Weber carburater and tunable fuel regulator; electronic ingnition; all of the vacuum lines have been removed that went with the stromburg carb/ignition. New dual horns installed. New u-joints and seals. This vehicle was purchased in Colorado four years ago. There was only minor rust on the body and floor boards. These were all either removed/repaired or replaced during the frame off painting. I do drive this car often although not everyday. It starts good after sitting (please keep in mind this is on older caburated car, so it doesn't just jump to life like a fuel injected car will!) Transmission shifts like it should, there are no gear noises or difficulties shift. Parking brake will hold the car and reverse works fine. This is an extremly fun car to drive and gets alot of looks going down the road. Even with the hard to find body imperfections this car has taken a few trophies in local car shows. you will be proud to be seen in this car! Shipping will be up to the buyer. Seller will not ship or deliver. Payment: $1000.00 (non refundable) within 24 hours of the close of auction. Balance due within seven days of the close of auction. Car must be either shipped or picked up with 14 days of close of auction.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
