1973 Triumph Spitfire 1500 Beautiful #2 Condition Classic Convertible on 2040-cars

*** See
additional pictures on on my hobby website at: http://www.taylormadeclassiccars.com/spitfireslides.html This is a very nice show car that is not a trailer queen, but meant to be driven. I would rate it a solid #2 condition using the Hagerty’s valuation guide*(see below) where they note an investment value of $12,300 !!! It’s had one-owner since new, a well maintained example. I have a folder with receipts of all work done over the years. Includes original bill of sale, invoice dated July 16, 1973 listing the sale price of $3,250.00. Came with original AM/FM radio, full split tonneau cover with head rest bumpouts, heater, defroster, bucket seats, seat belts, 4-speed, owner’s manual, backup lights and turn signals (as equipped according to the bill of sale). Still have the “Sales & Service” and “Passport to Service” booklets. A restoration was completed in May 1993 with a strip to bare metal, wheels refinished, and a professional $4,000 (in 1993 dollars) paint job. That repaint to this day has a very beautiful finish even now and is a result of that restoration work done 20 years ago. More recent work over the past couple years shown by the receipts list new shocks, rebuilt alternator, belt, battery, new tires, new clutch master cylinder, new slave cylinder, new starter, u-joints, rear differential refreshed, seats re-padded, major tune up two years ago with new brakes, overhauled calipers, new rear shoes, new front pads, points, plugs, new fuel pump, etc. I just installed a shifter linkage upgrade/repair kit, installed stainless door sill plates, installed chrome SU carb covers, a new gas filter, and a brand new Robbins black soft vinyl convertible top from Moss Motors. Chrome and bright-work all polished, spare in trunk with jack and tool kit. Interior is beautiful, wood dash shows nice original finish, carpets like new, door panels good, seats very good, glass all good. Car runs and drives just fine. Equipped with twin SU carbs and headers for the exhaust. Tires like new, floors are solid with no rust evident anywhere. Heater/defrost works, fan, lights, wipers, horn, tachometer, temp gauge, fuel gauge all work. The only two (2) known issues are the speedometer not working, but does register speed when cable is spun, so it may be connection issue at the gearbox and the dash pad has typical cracking (seen in pix). Replacements available from British Victoria and others. Please remember
that this is an "antique" vehicle 40 years old and in use. It
is NOT a trailer queen and does show some very minor wear and imperfections here or there,
consistent with a vehicle with this mileage, age and use. Car is
available for pre-bid inspections and I would always encourage and welcome
this. I am proud of my 100% excellent feedback score and always strive to
give accurate and detailed descriptions so that there are no disappointments from the buyer. Those with less than ten (10) or negative feedback history do NOT bid unless you contact me and communicate first, otherwise your bids will be retracted and bidder banned from further bidding. The winning bid is NOT a right of first refusal, but a commitment to purchase the vehicle regardless of anything, so a non-refundable deposit via PayPal is required when using the "Buy it Now" feature, or within 24 hours of auction ending and arrangements to be made for pickup of item. Vehicle is listed "for sale" by other venues and media, so I reserve the right to terminate the listing at any time. **NOTE** Additional pictures available on my “hobby” website

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
