1969 Triumph Spitfire MK III Owned since 2001. 1500 Engine installed by previous owner. Clutch went out two months ago. Drivable prior to that. Parked since then but started periodically. Car has: Rebuilt front suspension New battery New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder Have but not yet installed: New top New door panels Interior door and window handles Chrome air filters Dash cover (needs to be trimmed to fit) Rechromed badge bar Drivers side rear bumper guard Car needs: Paint and some bodywork Seats need to be reupholstered New carpets Passenger side floor board Basic tune up (needs starter fluid to start now) Clutch Odometer not working Fuel sending unit not working (have parts) Speedometer not working (have parts) This is not a parts car! An experienced home mechanic can bring this car up to par and beyond. I do not have the time, experience or place to work on the car. It has given me many years of enjoyment but is at the point where I do not have the skills or resources to maintain it. It needs to go to a new home for restoration. This is a no reserve auction with a $1,000 minimum bid. Car is sold "as is where is". No warranty is expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for arranging transport of the car. Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
