I am conducting this auction for a family friend. Up for sale is a one-owner complete example of a 1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500. When I retrieved the car from it's indoor resting place for the last 18 years it did not run. To facilitate the sale the car now runs, drives, and stops but still needs tweaking by a specialist.
The Good.
One owner with orgininal bill of sale
Rust free and Solid
Complete Car
Does not leak or burn oil
Dash is in great shape
Floors are rust free
Carpet is in great shape
All the interior panels are in great shape
Has a Full tonneau cover
Has a convertible boot cover
The car features a Nardi steering wheel that is in outstanding condition. The wheel itself is nearly perfect but there is some pitting on the horn adapter. Similar wheels sell for upwards of $3000 on eBay.
The Bad.
The paint is weak (needs to be  painted)
Convertible top needs to be replaced
Seats need to be recovered however the Triumph seat covers are more than adequate for occasional use.
Small dent in the bonnet with paint missing and light surface rust

Like I mentioned before the car had been sitting for 18 years. In order to get it up and running I installed new spark plugs, new starter, new coil, new battery, and cleaned the carb.
The car starts right up and runs ok. I am not an expert on this type of carb but the motor has good compression, doesn't smoke, and seems strong. With a little adjustment from an individual that is experienced with these carbs I have no doubt this car would be a blast to drive.

This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any point.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
